In a shocking turn of events, on April 8th, we saw the Water Vikings declare war against the Templars. Vikings call the war with TCP unfinished business, and it’s time they finish it.
The relationship between Water Vikings and Templars is very unique. Back in August 2022, the leadership of the Templars and Water Vikings discussed becoming allies, after years of hostility and repeated battles every few months. Both sides seemed to be happy with the newfound common ground. Nevertheless, the Templars unexpectedly declared war on the Vikings in November. However, the conflict was brief, ending in a 1-1 draw.
The Vikings soon went into a temporary lockdown so that the army could prioritize itself and the fixes that needed to be made. TCP had contacted WV about an alliance once more after this whole debacle, following WV’s reopening in 2023. However, after voting on it, WV’s Higher Command rejected the notion. They still sought to strengthen ties, though.
World War IX, which happened a few months later, showed that the rivalry between these two armies was still hot and the middle ground wasn’t reached. According to the Vikings, despite trying to work with the Templars, there has always been a rift between the two armies. Yet, they still coordinated with them after this war.
TCP’s decision to “ditch” the New Year Bonanza battle against the Water Vikings was “the tipping point” for them. In their declaration post, they also went on to state that:
“There has been unfinished business for years and it’s time we finish it”
Following their declaration, there has been discussion surrounding the Vikings’ choice to create a treaty with the People’s Imperial Confederation, which is an ally of both armies. In their response post, the Templars claimed that their choice to create a “NAP” with PIC was so that they could not get involved. They also stated that the Vikings disrespected PIC by claiming their server, Hot Chocolate, as one of their own. Despite all this talk, no statement has been issued by PIC. Assumedly, they wish to stay neutral during this combat. Furthermore, they provided reasoning for not participating in the New Year Bonanza.
In light of this, the Club Penguin Armies team has gathered special interviews regarding this matter.
Why did the WV high command decide to declare war now and not earlier?
Cabin: We did not declare war on the Templars earlier as it was not our top priority. Finally, with another tournament victory under our belt and our expansion to CP Journey being a success, we thought it was the right time to make some noise within the community.
What are your thoughts and predictions on this war?
Dawn: My thoughts on this war is just the timing. I had some major plans for Templars during April which will still proceed, it’s just a lot harder to do during a high stakes war like this. I honestly think that Templars will win this war. The anger that we have towards the WV for creating war out of nothing like this and disrupt our plans has fueled us to just do better and prove that the Templars will always be a war army and to never underestimate us.
What are your plans for troop mobilization?
Cabin: Our troop mobilization effort will continue to prioritize our own members. Unlike the Templars, we have an honorable reputation to uphold and will continue to refrain from using allied assistance.
How does the TCP high command plan to face the Vikings and both defensively and offensively?
Dawn: Our armies are pretty opposite which makes this war a very interesting one, but for right now I’ll focus on our normally scheduled events and including more AUSIA to help support the rest of our troop mass. I think we can definitely hold our own on Water Vikings invasions and make sure that we keep ourselves going and creating new tactics and having fun during this war.
Do you think you can find the middle ground or is war the only way of finishing this unfinished business?
Cabin: The Show must go on
Dawn: I think this war is our only solution. There is no middle ground to calling Templars dishonorable while being the complete opposite of honorable themselves. This war will only see one winner.
Both sides appear to be preparing for a full-scale war and neither of them will back down. Currently, neither side is winning the war as they both are on equal footing. Time will only tell how long the war will last or if either army will become dominant. However, it is clear that war is the only solution to solving the issues between the two armies. What will happen during the course of the war? Will we see a peace treaty agreed upon or will we see a victor emerge? Who will be victorious?
I hate WV for snake banning me for 99 days which is stupid, and declaring war on TCP which is also stupid and childish on their end.
We have business to settle and we’re going to win from a comeback
