After much anticipation from the community and much deliberation from the committee, the results of the 2023 Legends Inductions are finally ready for revealing.
For clarity’s sake, let’s go over the induction process one more time. As was voted on in Mchappy’s Legends Town Hall, all legends- regardless of activity- were allowed to participate this year. Thus, we had one of the largest legends committees in recent history. There were a total of 19 Army Legends and 6 Small/Medium Army Legends, bringing the grand total of the board to 25 Legends. However it must be noted that there were two Army Legends this year that did not submit a ballot on time. As a result, their votes are not represented in both the count and the threshold to be inducted. Let it be known that not submitting a ballot is frowned upon and may result in not being asked back to future committees.
To be inducted, a nominee must receive a simple majority of the votes from the committee. This means that the amount of votes required for an Army Legend to be inducted this year is 9 votes. For an S/M Legend to be inducted, it takes 12 votes. Again, these thresholds are skewed because of the two voters who did not submit a ballot. The participants were as follows:
- Iceyfeet1234 – 2008 Army Legend
- DMT – 2019 Army Legend
- Orange – 2016 S/M Army Legend
- 32op – 2020 Army Legend
- Aaronstone42– 2022 Army Legend
- Csy – 2020 Army Legend
- Edu14463 – 2018 Army Legend
- Elexonck – 2022 Army Legend
- Epic101 – 2018 Army Legend
- Ganger90 – 2011 Army Legend
- Kally – 2022 Army Legend
- Kingfunks4 – 2013 Army Legend
- Mchappy – 2011 Army Legend
- Mustapha10 – 2015 Army Legend
- Roberto – 2011 Army Legend
- Silverburg – 2017 Army Legend
- Superhero123 – 2019 Army Legend
- Twitchy543 – 2018 Army Legend
- Wwebestfan – 2011 Army Legend
S/M Army Legends:
- Freedomist – 2020 S/M Army Legend
- Mare – 2021 S/M Army Legend
- Mehak – 2019 S/M Army Legend
- Revan – 2015 S/M Army Legend
- Sidie9 – 2012 S/M Army Legend
- Ulysses Nardo – 2017 S/M Army Legend
As always, S/M Legends voted only on the S/M nominees, whereas the Army Legends voted on all nominees. However, S/M Legends have- and will continue- to contribute to the discussion of Army Legend nominees as well.
Now, lets go on to the results.

On behalf of the entire board, I would like to congratulate Calgocubs21 on getting inducted. Becoming a legend is no small feat, and the competition in 2023 reflects that. Once again, we thank everyone who got involved in the Community Nominee vote this year as well.
Personal closing words from DMT:
Ask me and I will be the first to tell you that I had no qualms with the 2022 Legends Inductions. I said it then, and I’ll say it again: every nominee that I voted yes on was inducted. So, when Mchappy asked if I wanted to take his place as Legends Committee head, I was hesitant. I knew that legends were undergoing radical changes under immense scrutiny from the public. It wasn’t really an appealing position. However, I recognize that what is not important is how I feel about Legends Inductions. Rather, how the community feels. I can see the problems they had with 2022 and I think the results of these inductions show that we are moving in the right direction.
I also will publicly state that I voted no on having inactive legends be apart of the board. But I cannot deny that their input was mostly valuable to the conversation, providing many active legends with a broader scope on the meaning of the title as a whole. This is to say that having the board consist of only active legends can result in a cycle of recency bias taking over discussions. Thus, older legends who are no longer part of the community do their part by bringing that to the forefront. Don’t get me wrong, though. They are still expected to view the accomplishments from the year wholly and not use previous legends as gospel. But it is always worthwhile to take a broader look at legends to see just how hard the title has been to get historically.
Mchappy’s Legends Town Hall was immensely well received by legends of varying viewpoints, so I am happy to announce that we will be continuing this trend, with the first town hall taking place sometime in March and the possibility of more happening down the road. There are lofty goals in the committee- both from the heads and from some members- to take a look back at previous nominees who may not have gotten a fair discussion, or perhaps now fit the title of legend after five years of CPPS era inductions. Furthermore, there is large discussion about updating legend biographies, reclassifying legends to their “peak” years, and uniforming the legends page as a whole. But the most important thing on our minds is revamping the new Community Nominee system to make it more worthwhile for the community. That is what will be at the forefront of the town hall. All things considered, I think it is safe to say that the future of the legends title is brighter now than it was a year ago. I hope the community agrees with that.
I would like to thank Mchappy for the opportunity to be a committee head. If you had told me I’d be a part of the team running legends back in OG Disney armies, I would think you were full of crap. Even myself years ago probably wouldn’t believe it. But it has been a rewarding experience- even all these years into my career- and one I hope I have the privilege of continuing for years to come. Expect to hear from us sooner rather than later! As always, we will be listening to feedback as reactions to these inductions pour in.
Excuse me but I want a recount.
