Welcome to the twenty-second edition of the “HCOM Life Stories” column. This week we had a seat with with Gabgeirl, a prominent and long-time staff member who has been with Rebel Penguin Federation since their first steps into armies.
Most notably known for her appearance in the Rebel Penguin Federation, Gabgeirl‘s debut in armies started in September 2021 when she first enlisted in the Rebels, as it became the sole army she pledged allegiance. She was hired as staff in training in November and only two weeks later she was promoted. Due to her unwavering loyalty towards her army, she proved to be an indispensable member of the staff team.
Gabgeirl was promoted to the Higher Command (HCOM) in September 2022 for her active participation in all events and consistent efforts toward recruitment, demonstrating her commitment to the army’s goals. Her crucial role in contributing to the army’s success resulted in her promotion to Second in Command in May 2023.
Gabgeirl’s exceptional contributions to the Rebels are a true inspiration. Her dedication to the army’s success and her willingness to go above and beyond to help her allies and contribute to graphic design is a testament to her outstanding character and commitment to excellence. Rebel Commander Link3000 has expressed his gratitude towards the work of Gabgeirl by saying “I’d say she’s [Gabgeirl] definitely a very reliable HCOM member. She is quite on top of things especially things revolving around graphic design and planning of big events which is something she takes pride in and thrives in. Additionally she’s an easy person to get along with and brings a light-hearted vibe to HCOM.”
Club Penguin Armies sat down with Gabgeirl to discuss more about her role as HCOM, as well as get to know more about her personality.
What have been some of the memorable days/times in your army career so far?
Winning March Madness this year was pretty memorable for me since it was the only major trophy Rebel Penguin Federation (RPF) was missing so winning it was a nice feeling. Other than that, being inducted as Rebel on the RPF Hall of Fame was very memorable to me as one of my closest friends was inducted at the same time.
What lessons have you learned on your way to becoming Higher Command?
I’ve learnt a lot of lessons over time, mostly the importance of willing to put yourself forward for new situations and being both willing and able to help out whenever needed.
Are there any goals you have? And are there some you have already achieved with RPF?
At the moment my goals are to keep on being helpful within RPF and help the army continue to thrive! Past goals have included things such as making my way into the Hall of Fame and getting to HCOM.
What is the best part about being a Higher Command?
I really love having the ability to get a direct say in what happens in RPF, as well as the friendships I’ve gained which I might not have otherwise.
Is there any particular figure who inspired you to get this far?
There’s a mix of people who’ve inspired me over my time in RPF. Originally it was Alienn, who was on the staff team when I originally joined and made me feel nothing but welcomed – I really wanted to become that for people! More recently I think Link3000 and Elexonck have inspired me a lot for all the time they’ve put into RPF and what they do for the community.
Do you have any advice to give to those who aspire to become HCOM one day?
As for advice I would say be willing to help out as much as possible whether that be helping out troops or other staff. I would also say to be willing to improve and grow – getting to HCOM takes work and I know in RPF at least there is plenty of opportunities to get feedback at staff level in order to do this! It’s there to be helpful, not to tell you that you’re doing badly!
Well i am impressed with Gabegirl being a hcom like me in RPF. I still feel bad for what I did to them in the Summer War. I hope they can unban me someday… because I still care about them in my own way.
