New Start: CV Unmerges; Forges Alliance w/ Templars

In a surprising turn of events, the Cryo Vanguards have officially announced their separation from the Dark Pirates just days after their merger. The decision, alongside a new alliance, marks another major development in what has already been a highly eventful chapter for the army.

SEPARATION AND ALLIANCE

The Cryo Vanguards, created on February 7 by Kento and Dorx, had an eventful run, going to war with the Romans and forming an alliance with Special Weapons and Tactics. On March 11, the army announced its merger into the Dark Pirates. However, just days later, on March 25, the Cryo Vanguards announced that they would be reversing their merger, bringing the brief partnership to an end. This decision came as a shock to most, as the army announced it just two days before the shutdown of the Dark Pirates, serving as an early signal of the internal conflicts that were unfolding.

In the wake of their unmerger, the Cryo Vanguards wasted little time in reshaping their position within the community, soon announcing an alliance with the Templars. Currently ranked third on the Top Ten and recently celebrating its eight-year anniversary, The Templars are widely regarded as one of the major forces in the army community. More recently, they were runners-up in the March Madness XI tournament, further cementing the alliance’s significance. This move carries notable weight, as this alliance could very well help the Cryo Vanguards re-establish themselves in the army community following the instability caused by their brief merger with the Dark Pirates.

Club Penguin Armies reached out first to both Kento and Dorx to shed more light on the reasons behind the unmerge. We also continued to ask Dorx for more information regarding the Templars’ alliance, but we have yet to receive a response.

Though the Dark Pirates officially shut their doors on March 28, CV announced that the merger would be reversed three days before this. What led to the unmerge?

Kento: Dorx and i wanted to unmerge from DPC. My reason for CV to unmerge is because CV has lotta potential
Dorx:  I knew that Dark Pirates was going to shut down, so I unmerged in advance

After what looked like a successful opening event, as well as new alliances between CV and other armies being forged, what do you think the future holds for CV? Share any short-term and long-term goals the army has.

Kento: i think that CV will be a just succesful medium army tbh, i bet the army will get better only if we work hard on it
Dorx: Our goal is to eventually become a major army

Were there any lessons from this experience that will shape how CV approaches alliances in the future?

Kento: nah not rly
Dorx:  I now understand the importance of alliances

A variety of factors drove the army to decide to unmerge. While Dorx cited prior knowledge of the Dark Pirates’ impending shutdown as the reason for acting in advance, Kento emphasized his belief that the Cryo Vanguards possess significant room for growth on their own.

Looking ahead, both leaders expressed optimism about the future of the army, with short-term goals centered on continued growth and stability and long-term ambitions to reach major army status. These aspirations, combined with their newly announced alliance, may mean that the unmerge serves the beginning of a new chapter for CV rather than as a setback. What do YOU think? Will their unmerge lead to a less successful phase for the army? Will their newly created alliance help the army propel?
