Iosephus Returns to EGCP’s Leadership

Recently, one of the most notable leaders of the Elite Guardians, Iosephus, made a triumphant return to the army. Today, we will uncover the facts surrounding his return and examine his history.

HISTORY

Iosephus, also known as Joshep/JoshepPeter1, is an army veteran, well-known for his time in the Elite Guardians. He made his start with EGCP, joining in May 2019 and staying until the army’s closure in 2020. From here, he bounced around armies before finding himself in command of the Os Mascarados Army. After his stint with OMA, he gained recognition in the Special Weapons and Tactics as a Major General, but would soon go inactive.

Iosephus would return in 2023, becoming a leader of the Elite Guardians. It was here he made his mark, leading the army through World War IX, commanding them to a 32-0 record in the war. Following WWIX, Joshep would also lead EGCP in their first war against the Army of Club Penguin and reach the Legends Cup XIII semi-finals. Unfortunately, on September 5, fellow EGCP leader Fitsuki announced that Joshep would be retiring from the army. At his farewell event, the army saw a max of 40, highlighting Iosephus’ profound effect on the Guardians.

An Elite Return

On December 1, current Elite Guardians leader Lana announced that Iosephus would be returning to EGCP command. Lana commented on the success which Joshep had brought to the army in the Golden Age of their second generation, and hoped he could help establish the same for this modern iteration. With Iosephus returning as the 24th leader of the army, we are hopeful he can improve upon EGCP’s currently lacklustre performance, when compared to their historically marvelous dominance.

To find out more about his new leadership position, Club Penguin Armies contacted Joshep for an interview.

I. Seeing as you haven’t been active in armies for quite some time, why decide to return now?

It all started when I decided to return to the community in October, without any commitment, just to attend a few events. But soon I was invited to be an Advisor and officially come back as 3IC at the end of October. At the moment I was called back, EGCP was growing, and I thought it would be good to be part of this rebuilding, given the traumas caused by the rebellion of the former moderators

II. That’s very interesting, your aspirations are admirable. When you mention “this rebuilding”, what specifically are you referring to? How are you seeking to improve the army?

When I talk about rebuilding, I mean the reopening of EGCP earlier this year, already without most of the first generation staff. As a veteran, I feel my role is important to help push the Army forward. What we’re aiming for is to bring in new soldiers, and that’s why we created the ‘Recruitment Legion’ program to find people with free time who are willing to help the Army grow stronger

III. Pushing your army forward and continuing its legacy can be very difficult, especially nowadays. You’ve mentioned bringing in recruits and finding people to help out – are there any other ways EGCP are evolving? Do you have any plans for your leadership?

Yes, it’s definitely a tough task, especially at a time when Club Penguin isn’t as popular as it once was. But recently I’ve had the support of some veterans from OMA (Os Mascarados Army) to help with recruitment contributions and plans for the renewal of our group. Right now, the leaders project is to engage the community in every possible way whether through recruitment, presence at events, or activity in our chat.

IV. Thank you very much for your time. You’ve given some great insight into your return. Do you have any closing comments you’d like to make?

Despite the countless rebellions and divisions that EGCP has faced in such a short time, we have shown who is truly willing to put us back on the map — recruiting, participating, and strengthening. The history of EGCP will not be about our enemies, but about those who had the courage to rebuild it

With one of the Elite Guardians’ most decorated leaders returning, the army appears to be in good hands. Despite the turbulence they have faced recently, we are confident this addition will help stabilize them. But what do you think of Iosephus’ return? How will he impact the army? Could we witness another EGCP Golden Age?
