On July 3, the Portal Hoppers of Club Penguin found themselves entering a new dimension. Let’s see what magic the Portal Hoppers have planned with their arrival in the community.

The first week of July has started with a bang. Armies have begun their pursuits for Summer Olympics gold and are taking down challenges one after another. On top of this, the sign-ups for the Legends Cup XV are also in progress. The current landscape of Club Penguin Armies is looking very promising, and armies are doing all they can to capitalize on these events.
With this new month in full swing, a fresh face has joined the competition. The Portal Hoppers of Club Penguin, founded by Dbsa and Zay, step onto the scene at a time when tempo matters most. Shortly after the founding, Dbsa and Zay also brought on Judy, joining them at the helm of the army. With the three of them guiding the army, PHCP hosted its opening event on June 3.

Club Penguin Armies reached out to the leader-trio, hoping to gain some insight about the Portal Hoppers and their ambitions for CPA.
What was the inspiration behind starting the Portal Hoppers of Club Penguin?
Zay: The desire for an original army to enter the community was something that came about following a short discussion about how making an army wouldn’t hurt to try. And that’s what we did; we took the careful steps to put something together. Made the uniform, the aesthetic, got the troops, and put in everything and we managed to pull it off in the end in the opening. And that ultimately became what’s inspired us: we wanted to have an army that succeeded.
Dbsa: The Idea of making an army always popped into my head 24/7, i always wanted to create something successful, something creative and new, and also something fun for everyone, i loved the idea of making something that feels special, and different, and the first thing that came up in my head was “Portal, it was because of my weird interest in the void, space, and portal stuff, so i named it that just to represent that feeling and it came out well and creative, my friends Judy & zay Helped me a lot and let that dream finally become true
Judy: Honestly I didn’t get involved until a bit later than the other two but I’ve known DBSA a while and know it’s always been on his CPA bucket list overall though, we wanted to create an army where it’s run by a group of close friends who just want to do their own thing and have fun in the league with something we built
How are the Portal Hoppers of Club Penguin different from other armies?
Zay: We noticed how there’s great animosity towards one another especially in this atmosphere and we want to be different instead of randomly picking fights or just retaliating with toxicity and hate. I don’t believe in being a full pacifist since every army will always battle another at some point, therefore we will war at some point—but as a demonstration of what we can do, not as an act of hatred or anything of the sort.
Dbsa: What makes PHCP different is that it wishes to show full respect to it’s enemies with 0 Toxicity, And together We’ll build something Awesome
Judy: Compared to other armies I’d say there’s more creativity and a few different ideals. We want to do something different in the community although I’ll spare some of those details, and one day we’re gonna want to war- not because of drama but as a respectful test of skill
What do the Portal Hoppers hope to accomplish in CPA?
Zay: We, the Portal Hoppers, wish to thrive in the community and hopefully reach Major status. It’s always been a desire since the very beginning and we’re willing to put in the work to reach that. It’s not gonna come overnight for sure, but we’re hoping that thriving, reaching major status, and being a community of love and respect is what we’ll bring to the table.
Dbsa: PHCP hopes to become a Major and something that’s powerful and remembered by the future generations with good memories
Judy: Just have a good army with a good environment, we don’t want to be the best in CPA but rather as good and powerful as we can be without losing the fun aspect of this. I suppose we want to just have something to be proud of while having something we love
Finally, what is your history within the CPA community?
Zay: I’ve been a staff in DCP, RF and TCP (Major General in DCP and HCOM in those other two armies respectively) during 2020. Was the leader of my own armies called Mercenary Force and Tundra Union Armed Forces although they didn’t last very long. I used to also be a leader of the Medieval Warriors during 2021 until shutdown. I also later reenlisted in TCP as an HCOM(?)/staff at some point in 2023. In current time now, I am a staff in Romans and cofounder/leader of the Portal Hoppers.
Dbsa: I’ve been in club penguin armies for almost a year now, I’ve been recruited into the Secret Service as my First CPA army and i’ve had a lot of fun there, my last rank there was staff in training then sadly, it shut down for good, hours go by and i don’t know what to do then suddenly, Former SS members tell me that they merged into the Doritos of club penguin and i was so excited, i did everything i could there and i was so loyal, until the allegations came out and everything fell down, it was a hard time but i got through it, my last rank was Fourth in command, Then I joined the Void Troops, Which was the army that treated me better than anyone else, no pressure, and no toxicity, just a friendly community, my rank there was 5ic due to the rank of fourth in command not being available, I’ve got promoted there to Fourth in command getting my rank back, then….., i felt like it’s time, it’s time to create my own army and be creative with it, and it went out well.
Judy: Oh lord here we go I first joined RPF in May 2024 where I reached the rank of 6ic until leaving in September to join Secret Service as a 3ic and shortly after, dual enlisted in Aliens as a SiT. During that time I opened and led my own army, Lawyers for a bit until the ss->dcp merge in November where I continued to be 3ic. A few days later I joined ACP as a 7ic, leaving as a 5ic in January when I rejoined DCP as an SiT and quickly reached 2ic before leaving recently after the controversy. I then joined VT as a 2ic although my enlistment there was short, basically lasting for the duration of the VT-DCP war. Finally, I went unaffiliated for a few weeks until I decided to join DBSA in PHCP and here we are
PHCP evidently holds a strong and tight-knit foundation, which is exactly what new armies need to get started. With the league more active than ever, the Portal Hoppers certainly do not want to be left out. Do you think the Portal Hoppers can reach Major status? What advice do you have for the Portal Hoppers?
