We are extremely excited to invite all armies to our Summer Olympics opening event, where we’ll be hosting a variety of fun activities and festivities to prepare you for the competition. We’ll also release more information about the Olympics, which will start the day after! There may be something in it for the army that brings the most attendees…

CHALLENGES

The majority of quests will be made to assist and encourage armies with Legends Cup XV training and participation, and the remainder of the quests will focus on various other Club Penguin-related activities and skills, such as:

Growing Numbers Recruit 8 people to your army [must have a CPAB account]
Rallying Cry Max 15+ in a CPAB event.
Emergency Meeting Get 5 members of your army into CPA VC simultaneously.

Quests such as holding a Practice Battle with an army, hosting 2 AUSIA events, and assigning a representative to compete in a Sled Racer tournament might be present too!

Each Sunday, up to 5 quests will be released, each of varying difficulty and classification. Easy ones could take less than an hour to complete, with hard ones taking up to the whole week to finish! So, when deciding what quests you’re aiming for, keep some strategy in mind; higher difficulty, higher amount of points! You’ll most likely need to assign your members to positions dedicated to finishing these quests, which will give your troops, staff, and HCOM great experience!

Types of Quests

All quests may only be considered completed once proof of completion is provided in the #completions thread within the #summer-olympics channel. ALL QUESTS ARE UP FOR GRABS UNTIL THEN.

Standard: Any army can complete the quest within the given timeframe and get the points.
First Army: First army(s) to meet the quest’s requirements and send proof of completion in the aforementioned thread gets the points.
Diminishing: Based on time or the amount of people who have already gotten it, the amount of points that the quest can give diminishes.
Additive: A quest that you can do multiple times for larger and larger sums of points up until a certain maximum.
Live: Each army sends a representative to a live event, comprised of a CPAB/CPJ minigame. Points given for podium positions.
Performance: Subjective quest judged by Unaffiliated Olympics Team. 1 submission per army!
Special: Server-wide special event, good luck!

Of course, some quests will be judged by the Olympics Committee, comprised of our beloved CC members who are helping us!

SPECIAL, PERFORMANCE, & LIVE Quests

Some quests will feature certain minigames, activities, or competitions that a troop representative of your choice must complete during a certain timeframe with other troops. Or, some will be server-wide army team events! This can range from designing an igloo to playing a Cart Surfer tournament, so learn what each of your troops is skilled at! PERFORMANCE quests will have lower point rewards.

Map of Progression

Your army will be able to venture through a vast map comprised of 4 sections, and at the end lies a great reward for those who complete the whole map. If you’re feeling extremely adventurous, you can try lapping the map, gaining momentum and boosts to get your number of laps higher and higher! Be the first to complete this map for a special trophy designed by the Graphics Department.

Map Interactivity

  • Choice: The path can split into two, each choice having its own tradeoffs. Take a hard and challenging quest at the end of a shorter path, or wait until Sunday for some more points to finish a longer path! When at an intersection, your army will not gain points until an army leader or army board representative confirms the army’s choice.
  • Obstacles: Similarly to an intersection, this obstacle will block your progression until you finish it. Complete a challenging quest to continue progressing through the map!
  • Trinkets: You can gain funny little artifacts and otherwise silly items through doing certain actions throughout the Olympics. They don’t give a competitive advantage, but it’s fun for bragging rights.

FAQ

Do armies as a whole participate, or just a troop from each army?

The army as a whole participates together, as they are considered one entity/participant in the Olympics. For example: Smart Penguins has 5 points, no individual troop has their own points.

Won’t this just divert resources away from the Legends Cup?

We aim to make this a challenge for armies so that they can train for the Legends Cup and find ways to get their entire army involved, in order to keep up with everything going on! We hope it’ll be a great experience for armies to grow and adapt! It’ll also give your army a competitive thirst, helping you bring hype to LC battles!

Why should my army participate?

There are plenty of trophies and awards your army can gain by participating/winning, and as previously mentioned, will help you strengthen your army’s skills. The army with the highest amount of points might also be eligible for a custom role in the Club Penguin Armies Discord server!
