On February 15, 2025, The Dark Pirates announced the army is now on hiatus. Today, we look at what caused this sudden change of events.

Army History
The Dark Pirates were founded by Captains Ninja Leader and Tide on May 6, 2023. In their early days, DPC formed the Sapphire Concordat, joining forces with the People’s Imperial Confederation and Special Weapons and Tactics to war against the Dark Vikings in the conflict known as the Bloodbath Barrage. On July 3, 2023, Tide departed from the army and joined PIC, causing the army to suffer greatly and eventually merge with SWAT a month later.

On March 16, 2024, Ninja Leader revived the army for its second generation with the help of fellow Captain Shrekks. Maxing 10 at their reopening event, the Pirates successfully registered in the Club Penguin Armies organization. Not long after DPC’s first anniversary, CP announced the Around the World Cup Tournament, which the Pirates were excited to participate in. Unfortunately, before then, Shrekks announced his retirement from the leader. The army went on to take part in the tournament, though they were unable to secure a victory.
Ninja Leader announced that the army would be merging with the Secret Service on 6 July 2024, bringing the second generation to an end. Generation three began on December 27 with Ninja, Shrekks, and Tide as Captains and Yellow Typer as a Captain in Training. Soon after, Ninja and Tide retired, and Shrekks followed, leaving Yellow to solo lead the Pirates. DPC engaged in several wars in the following days with armies such as PIC and the Weeknds of Club Penguin. They had arranged to participate in CPA’s Candy Crusher Brawl tournament but went on hiatus before it could begin.

HIATUS ANNOUNCEMENT
To the surprise of many, Ninja Leader recently announced the army would be on hiatus until May 2025. He stated that the third generation will carry on from then but for now, the army will remain on break. This sudden change of events is disappointing but we are excited to see more from the Pirates when they return.

CPA contacted Former Captain Ninja Leader to learn more about this sudden break.
What was the main reason behind the hiatus?
I was on a break and the army wasn’t doing well because there was only one leader and the staff wasn’t taking things seriously either. I decided to come to Discord for a day or two to see what was going on, but when I saw the announcement channel, it was filled with dramas with in experienced people being promoted to leader, and other such things. I became frustrated and believed that taking a break was the best way to preserve and save this third generation.
Do you believe that this break will be better for the army in the long run?
When we return from our hiatus in May, I will be the primary captain. I hope to serve my army to the best of my abilities and ensure that, like all previous generations, we can manage to achieve new things and succeed.
What can we expect from DPC in the future?
Though I can’t foresee the future, I’m holding out hope. We shall make every effort to win a S/M competition this time; it will be challenging, but nothing is impossible. Gaining our objective will take a lot of dedication, but we can accomplish this aim as well if we have a strong team!
This hiatus seems to be for the overall benefit of the Pirates and we hope to see the army in better conditions when they reopen. What do you think? Is this hiatus for the best? Will DPC make a comeback?
