As the festive season ends, it is almost time for the Christmas Chaos XIV Grand Finals! Multiple armies worked hard in this tournament but only two have come this far. Let us meet both armies’ leaders and learn more about their preparations.
Currently, Link3000 and Gabigeirl are the leaders of the Rebel Penguin Federation. Link joined the CPA community by enlisting in RPF in June 2020 and became a moderator around four months later, in October. He became a third-in-command in February 2021, second-in-command in August, and Rebel Commander within just a few months in May 2022. Throughout Link’s time as leader, he has managed to lead the army through a lot including the Summer Sovereign War against Templars in August 2022, the Christmas Chaos of December 2022, the Special Weapons and Tactics War of February 2023, March Madness in 2023, the Autumn Tundra Clash against the Secret Service in September and October of this year, with Gabi on his side.
Gabi first joined RPF in September 2021. After being staff and HCOM in the army for almost three years, she was inducted as Rebel Commander in February 2024. Since joining, Gabi has witnessed the army continue to make history. Right now, Gabigeirl has the opportunity to win her first tournament under RPF’s leadership.
The Doritos are mainly led by Logical, 32op, Joel, and Aisha. Logical joined SS in May 2022, remaining there for 2-3 months before moving to SWAT in August of that year. He created the Penguins of Madagascar in early 2023 and finally rejoined SS in June of this year after POM shut down. After DCP reopened, he was introduced to its leadership after an arguably successful run as SS leader.
Army Legend 32op, on the other hand, has been in the community for a little longer. Recruited to DCP in 2012, he rose through the ranks to lead the army for the first time in 2016. Under his leadership, DCP triumphed in the Christmas Chaos tournament that same year. He led the army throughout 2020 before finally retiring in December and rejoining this year for its revival.
Joel started by leading the Miners in early 2020 before leaving and creating the Squids alongside Ugly. At this time, he was also in the Marines. He eventually worked his way up to leader later that year before the army merged into the Water Vikings. There, he achieved the rank of 3ic and later joined SS as a leader when it was established. He became a legend there and then retired in the summer of 2021. Earlier this year, he joined the People’s Imperial Confederation as a 2ic, left to join WV and achieved the same rank, and then left to revive SS around June. After the SS shutdown, he joined DCP for its revival in November.
Finally, Aisha started her journey in the army community in August 2017 – ironically – in the Rebel Penguin Federation. In 2020, she decided to leave it and join other armies, such as the Underground Mafias Army, DCP, and, later on, SWAT. In September 2024, after two months of experience in the newly-revived SS, Aisha attained a promotion to leader. However, after DCP reopening, she left SS and joined the army’s leadership.
The collective experience of these four has certainly impacted DCP‘s performance massively. Despite just reopening recently, they’ve managed to accomplish huge maxes on top of their outstanding performance throughout the ongoing Christmas Chaos Tournament.
MEETING THE LEADERS
Club Penguin Armies reached out to the leaders in question to understand how their preparations are going so far, and what are their expectations.
What is being done differently to prepare for the Grand Finals? On which aspect are you focusing more?
Link: We’ve been focusing on hosting training events to make sure our performance is good. Recruiting of course, the more people we get the merrier. It’s pretty boring and standard to be honest but if it works it works.
The newer thing is we are also having our annual holiday/christmas party this week which is a nice change of scenery amidst the tension of the tournament, but is still centered around trainings etc.Logical: Nothing really is being done differently what we did vs ACP worked now we just need to double it for rpf. Focusing on training new troops is going to be key for the finals
32op: Nothing different, same as we what we have been doing the entire Christmas Chaos.
Joel: Obviously RPF are a very tactical army, with their veterans they can pull large sizes which means we won’t be able to use this advantage the same as we could with others. In DCP we are training our troops, preparing them to beat RPF in tactics and look neat. This is on top of all the recruiting we are doing to continue building our forces.
Aisha: We know our strengths and we know our weaknesses from this tournament so far, so we are working on our weaknesses to ensure domination and victory.
In your perspective, what is the most important attribute for a leader to bear?
Link: I think being able to bring the community together. Practical skills and everything are always useful and I tend to enjoy those more, but if you as a leader are distant from your community or if your community is divided etc, then it’s concerning.
Logical: The ability to command a army, to have people that respect them and troops that would die on the battlefield for them.
32op: communication
Joel: I think hard-work is the best attribute for a leader, if you work properly in engaging troops, recruiting, getting accounts made you will grow the army ten fold. If an army leader isn’t recruiting and mentoring, how will it grow?
Aisha: It definitely has to be about being reliable, if an army leader isn’t reliable this can affect the whole army and the way its ran
In the semifinals, which army would you have liked to face if not the Army of Club Penguin/Aliens of Club Penguin?
Link: From the ones participating, probably ACP. I always enjoy ally battles, I think they’re always very intense and extremely fun, and ACP is a very strong army as well so it would have made for a good experience.
Logical: i would have rather faced acp in the finals and literally any other army in the semis but it is what it is
32op: Aliens for sure
Joel: RPF
Aisha: India
If you manage to win Christmas Chaos, what are your plans for your army after that?
Link: Besides a break? Schedule wise, we have one of our biggest, if not our biggest event of the year which is our bi-annual Olympics planned for some time in the winter. It’s always a blast, everyone has the best time and it’s one of our most highly anticipated events. So definitely looking forward to that.
In a more broad way, just keep growing the community, planning fun events and just keep doing what we’re doing.Logical: After cc i dont got much planned personally, the army itself does but it might be time for me to touch grass.
32op: Win or lose, we have a lot of special events planned at the end of the year to celebrate the community we have established since our revival.
Joel: We will be looking at trying out things that armies haven’t done in a very long time and continuing to dominate the TTs and have fun!
Aisha: Only way is up. My plan is to ensure consistency within the army, it’s good to have high expectations, you just have to make sure to put that effort in to meet them.
What is your message to the future leaders who take on the dream of winning a tournament final?
Link: Resilience is important. It’s not an easy task but it’s not an impossible one. Just in the past 12 months, we’ve had armies win their first tournament titles with ACP and HF both winning their first ever legends cup. It happened almost 2 decades since armies were created.
But beyond that, it’s important to not get tunnel vision and not lose sight of what’s important, which is your community. Working hard to create an environment where everyone is actively helping the army grow and it’s not just yourself doing it. Everyone has in mind the welness of the army if that makes sense.Logical: You really needa lock in for these tournaments as every army is giving it there all and if you dont you will definitely end up getting wiped. Make sure everyone is on the same page, organize a plan, and enable your staff team.
32op: Stay consistent and have pride in your army.
Joel: Just work hard, keep your head up and you can do it
Aisha: Don’t touch grass during tournaments.
The leaders’ qualifications and capabilities are undeniably impressive. With insight into their strategies and expectations, all that remains is to wait for tomorrow. Only then will we witness how this battle unfolds. Here at Club Penguin Armies, we extend our best wishes to both armies for success. Which advice did you like the most? Which leadership attributes do you think play a major role on the battlefield?
