As we step into the most uncanny and sinister season of the year, the tradition of sharing spooky stories returns. Aiming to keep up with it, we bring to the community the second edition of our very own Spooky Story Competition.
Club Penguin Armies is proud to present our annual Spooky Story Competition. Just as we saw many participants involved in last year’s Very Spooky Writing Competition, we expect to see many writers engaged this year as well.
Thus, the judges will be looking for good quality original, unpublished writing with engaging characters and a compelling narrative including an excellent beginning, middle, and end. In addition, a friendly reminder that all entries must follow our stories’ content guidelines.
rules
1. All submissions must follow Club Penguin Armies Stories’ Content Guidelines:
a) Originality: All submissions must be original works that have not been published elsewhere. We are looking for fresh, engaging content that reflects our organization’s commitment to quality and innovation.
b) Content Guidelines: While we encourage creativity, all stories and novels must align with our editorial standards. Please avoid sensitive topics that could potentially harm our organization’s reputation or alienate our audience.
It is mandatory that the story’s universe be that of the armies. Beyond that, the author is free to choose the theme and any other aspect of it.
Obscene (18+) or grotesque narratives will not be allowed. Thus, obscene, sexual, or grotesque vocabulary is prohibited.
Images and illustrations will only be allowed if they are related to the writing.
Language must have a minimum of order (use of capital letters, full stops, speech indicators, etc.). Unnecessary abbreviations should be avoided.
Reminder that all stories must abide by the CPA Discord Server Rules
2. Submissions must be original stories of a SINGLE chapter no less than 500 words, but they can certainly be more. As stated in the guidelines, the writer is free to choose the theme of the story, and the formatting is up to them.
3. In the spirit of Halloween, submissions are to be spooky stories that can be told in the dark, around a campfire. With that in mind, please keep it appropriate.
