Meme armies have spiced up the community, leaving a significant legacy in army history. Now, Scars, certified army rater, will rank these armies against each other to determine the top ten meme armies out there.

Hello, I am Scars. I joined Armies in early 2020. I was recruited into the Doritos and retired in late 2020. Since then, I have been on and off for several years. While I may not be a vet like many others, I believe this is a topic I am VERY qualified to speak on as I currently lead a meme army myself. Being in this community for 4 years, I’ve seen armies come and go. However, one type of army I’ve always been interested in was meme armies.

The way I see it, meme armies bring life to the community we all know and (may not) love. They have this certain feeling to them, they don’t take things as seriously compared to other armies and bring more fun to the community. I think more armies need to be like this and just be more relaxed overall and have some fun with things.

With all that being said, here’s what you’ve all been waiting for: Scars’ Top Ten Meme Armies.

10. Among Us Army ZOOM ZOOM KACHOW! / BEACHTROOPERS OF CLUB PENGUIN AWWWW YEAH!

The Among Us Army was created on September 15, 2020, by notable army leader, LEGOMAN. In true meme fashion, the army wasn’t serious whatsoever and was a ploy to get Lego the CPAH Army Representative role. Shortly after their first event, they would get removed from CPAH and rebranded as BEACHTROOPERS OF CLUB PENGUIN. Once again, the army wasn’t serious, and was another ploy by Lego to get the nameglow on CPArmies.net. 

The AUA have earned their spot on this list mostly because of their name and uniform. Opening in 2020, the army would gain relevancy as Among Us was extremely popular. Not only that but their uniform was well formulated to fit the theme perfectly. The AUA would proceed to max 10 to get verified in CPAH. On top of that, the AUA in collaboration with the Golden Troops, would host a successful invasion. Soon after this, the AUA would get removed from CPAH and rebranded into the Beachtroopers. The Beachtroopers would max upwards of 13 and would be for the people; their sole purpose being to help people get a nameglow.

With their decent maxes, funny concept, and very obvious troll theme, the AUA comes in at 10. However, due to their short lifespan, they come in at the bottom of this list.

9. Herberts of Club Penguin

The Herberts of Club Penguin were created sometime during early February 2023 under the leadership of Loganf8. This army wasn’t serious whatsoever with their whole purpose being to raid events. The HCP went on to cause chaos in the community and raid the events of many notable armies such as the Dua Inn Lipa Fighters and the Penguins of Madagascar.

The HCP have earned their spot on this list due to their sole purpose of raiding events. While their uniform is a bit basic, it does fit the Herberts’ name by just having the Herbert costume on. The HCP would successfully get 10 on, getting them verified in CPA. They would proceed to hold events frequently and continue to raid the events of many armies. HCP would also end up making the top ten at some point. Ultimately the HCP would max a high of 11 troops online, solidifying themselves as a decent meme army.

Because of the meme material, uniform, and having more longevity than the AUA, the HCP comes in at 9. However, due to the army not doing anything that amusing or doing anything to stand out, they come in near the bottom of the list.

8. USSR of Club Penguin

The Union of Soviet Socialist Republics of Club Penguin was founded on July 16, 2020, by then DCP Troops 54x, Aisha, and Satchmo. While the army originated as a meme army, they would slowly progress towards the idea of becoming a real thing. The USSR was created for fun as things were slowing down for the trio in the DCP. During this point in time, meme armies would come and go; after about a week of decent activity, they would die. However, unlike many other meme armies, the USSR would establish itself as one of the greatest meme armies of the 2020 CPPS era.

From mid-July to sometime in August of 2020, the USSR would max anywhere between 15 and 20 troops. The USSR was a thriving army for about a month before shutting down.  However, 2 months later, Ice Warriors staff members, Roman and Crisy would revive the USSR. The USSR, now an IW colony, would go on to regularly max 10+ and occasionally 15+. Under the leadership of Roman and Crisy, the army saw themselves claiming their first pieces of land and even placing in the Top Ten. The USSR established itself as a prominent S/M army in the community and was seen as more than a meme before shutting down in early December of 2020.

Though I may be a bit biased, the USSR deserves this spot for its high maxes as an S/M army and legitimacy as an army. Because of this, the USSR claim the 8th spot.

7. One Direction Army

The One Direction Army was founded in April 2020 by Aubz, Mare, Frankie, and Izzy. The ODA would originally start as a meme army for fun between friends. However, as time progressed the army would reach great heights. Through a time when there were many dominant armies such as the Doritos And Ice Warriors, the ODA stood out among all others, being a thriving meme army in the community.

The ODA earned this place on this list for their contributions to the community such as competing in Legends Cup X and Beach Brawl. The army would go on to max an impressive average of 15+ and even max 25+ at times. Under the leadership of Mare and Aubz, the ODA would make the top ten on several occasions. The ODA also produced some legends in the community such as S/M Legend Mare and even S/M Legend nominee, Aubz. The army would have a total of 3 generations, which would all prove themselves, each lasting for several months. However, they would ultimately shut down and currently remain dormant.

The next army may be interchangeable with ODA. Because of their high maxes, time as an army, and participation in tournaments, the ODA makes a strong case for 6, but I think the next army is slightly better.

6. Dua Inn Lipa Fighters

Mare founded the Dua Inn Lipa Fighters on July 28, 2021. Mare created the server in retaliation after Golden Troops leader, Mighty, deleted the Dua Lipa server. Thus creating the “Dua Inn Lipa Fighters.” The server was meant to be for fun and to be a place for friends to hang out. However, things would soon take a turn for the better. Looking for fun in the army community, Mare along with her friends would ultimately get DILF verified as an army.

One of many reasons for having DILF over ODA is their abbreviation. I’m sure many of you are aware of what DILF stands for away from armies. However, it gets deeper than that. DILF would place in the Top Ten several times, reaching up to 7th. They would also go on to place on the top ten armies of the month. DILF has made a compelling case for their placement above ODA, but, it doesn’t end there. DILF would achieve maxes of up to 30+. The second generation would also maintain an average max of 10-15+. To pair up with those maxes, DILF would compete in Challengers Cup II but sadly failed to progress past the quarter-finals after losing to the People’s Imperial Confederation. Their first generation would even last around 7 months, exceeding the average lifespan of a meme army, which is typically thought to be a few weeks.

Overall, while ODA makes a case for 6th, DILF ultimately takes the spot due to having slightly more longevity and nice maxes to pair along.

5. Squids

The Squids were founded sometime between April and May of 2020 by JoelFreak, Ugly, and Pranav. The army was originally created as a meme between friends after they came across the Aliens of Club Penguin and willingly attended an event in the now squids’ uniform. Joel ended up creating an army based on the space squid costume and invited Ugly and Pranav to lead it alongside him. From then on, it was history; the Squids became a dominant force in the CPO scene.

The squids have a very unique uniform, utilizing a large costume to cover lots of ground on the battlefield. Paired with the Kermit’s head, the uniform emits a meme army aura. Aside from their swag on the court, the squids bring a tough game to pair that. The squids would go on to max around 30+. But at their peak, the squids would hit the highest amount out of any army on this list, 62. The squids would also go on to fight in a war against the Saber Squids, led by Alucard and Krosive. During this war, the Squids would not lose a battle or even a single room. To top it all off, the Squids’ second generation would average 19 troops, compete in Legends Cup XIV, and even beat the Army of Club Penguin in overtime.

The squids had an exceptional first generation by today’s standards. Their second generation, on the other hand, was very good for an S/M army. To top it all off, both Squids’ generations lasted about a month, causing them to drop in the rankings.

4. Wet Army Penguins

The Wet Army Penguins were founded on August 7th, 2021 by Pandor and Toxic Storm. The Wet Army Penguins would open up to be a meme army. However, like many other armies on this list, they would develop into something more. WAP would be a force to be reckoned with in the coming months after their opening.

Again, much like DILF, the abbreviation is a big reason for their placement. I know everyone has heard Cardi B’s iconic song, WAP, and knows the meaning behind the abbreviation. Aside from that, however, WAP has done much more. WAP won “Best Meme Army” in CPAHQ, a big reason for them being on my “Top Ten Meme Armies” list. WAP would have considerable sizes for an S/M army, reaching 20 multiple times. Their second generation, now a Water Vikings colony, would continue to have good maxes, averaging 10+ troops. Those maxes continued to transfer onto the battlefield which WAP would fight in multiple wars. They would notably battle against the likes of the Special Weapons and Tactics and an army close to my heart, the Trojans. WAP would ultimately shut down their latest generation on May 22, 2023, however, they didn’t leave without making a name for themselves first.

Due to their participation in the community when it comes to wars, sizes, and even decent longevity, WAP comes in at 4 with their Best Meme Army award carrying them here.

3. LEGOMAN ARMY HOO RAH!

LEGOMAN ARMY HOO RAH! was founded by LEGOMAN in late July 2020. This may or may not come as a surprise, but LMA was originally created to ALSO get Lego a nameglow. The original leadership team consisted of Lego, Cassie, and Ninja. However, that is irrelevant to the opening as the opening event was Lego leeching off of an ODA murder mystery event, in which he got all troops in uniform.

LMA was exceptional at hosting unscheduled events and pulling through with decent numbers. Due to Lego’s close ties with IW, they would be able to max around 15 troops each event. LMA would finally host their first scheduled event; a retirement celebration for the Pizza Gang was held. LMA would achieve a whopping 27 troops. From this point forward, LMA would be a solid contender against armies such as the Dark Warriors, Templars, and many more. LMA would proceed to have many more generations, which would all max a solid amount of troops for an S/M army. One of their final generations would most notably win an old-school war against the Dark Pirates of Club Penguin. They would also have some of the best leaders to ever walk on this planet, such as 54x.

LMA has had many successful runs and has even maintained good maxes, gaining them this spot. However, due to 54x being couped, they will not be making the top 2.

2. Bose DK Warriors

Diwix, Scorp, and Vedant created the Bose DK Warriors on October 22, 2021. The army was created as a result of the friends wanting a new army, to which Diwix responded “Bose DK.” The phrase comes from the popular song, “Bhaag D.K. Bose.” That same night, Scorp created the Bose DK server and the rest was history.

Bose DK would have great meme value, being based on the song previously mentioned. Not only that but they would also be associated with curry, a food enjoyed by all the warriors. They would max 18 troops in their opening event, paving the way for success. From that point forward Bose DK would achieve maxes of anywhere from 10-25 troops. These maxes resulted in many respectable placements in the Top Ten for the army. However, while being a dominant S/M army is fun, it also comes with a risk, war. Bose DK would be a powerhouse when it came to war. They would go on to beat the likes of the Templars, Red Ravagers, and the Chefs. Bose DK continued to shine for months and was a force to be reckoned with in the community. Sadly, on July 24, 2022, the Bose DK Warriors would shut down due to inactivity.

I think Bose DK solidified their spot for their war efforts. Beating Templars is an accomplishment on its own as they were a top army in 2022. Their high maxes for an S/M army and longevity also proved themselves worthy of the #2 spot.

1. Scars of Club Penguin

The Scars of CP opened sometime in August 2020 by 54x. While many think Scars created the SCP, he didn’t, but he is still widely recognized as a co-creator. The SCP was originally a group of individuals, mostly DCP staff members, who fought to get Scars unbanned from the DCP. A year later, the army would have its first-ever opening as an army rather than a rogue group. The third generation was the most successful until 3 years later when Scars would revive the SCP for a fifth generation.

The SCP’s third generation would be semi-successful, however, it would ultimately shut down within the same month of its opening due to inactivity plaguing the army. Before that, J., Scars, and Villa would lead the SCP to max 11 and to registration in SMAN. Years later, Scars revived the SCP with little notice, scheduling the opening event for an hour and 30 minutes later. He invited 54x, to return to lead the SCP and they have strived since. After maxing 10 in their opening event, the SCP would host multiple events the same week and make the Top Ten in week one. The SCP would go on to war with SWAT, in which a single troop defended their land. Soon after, they would also defeat the Spartans in war. The SCP under Scars’ and 54x’s leadership would go on to reach a max of 16.

Many of you may be wondering, “How is SCP #1 when you talked so much about longevity, yet their longest generation has barely been around for a month?!?!?!” The simple answer is that I’m extremely biased. If you have an issue, remember that this is MY top 10 armies and you should cope if you think the mighty SCP isn’t 1.

CONCLUSION

To sum everything up, I think we can all agree that meme armies have left a significant mark on the community. Without them, army history would have been changed forever. I think we can all agree meme armies have been a staple of the community for years and will continue to be for years to come. Finally, I would like to say that this is all just my opinion and should not be taken seriously. This was my first ever post, so thank you for reading everybody, I hope you enjoyed it.
