Welcome to another edition of CPA Ice Breakers, where we get to know more about community members and play games with them! In this edition, we will learn more about the current Secret Service leader Joel Freak.

Joel joined the army community in an ‘unusual way’, initially joining by spamming in the Town after seeing others auto-typing. After a person in the community noticed Joel, he was introduced to the Club Penguin Online Army League. He was guided by various members such as Army Legend 32op and Sweater in their first army, Miners. He managed to lead it before shutting it down and joining the Marines while creating Squids on the side, where he climbed through the ranks. After the Marines were dissolved, Joel joined the Water Vikings before joining the later-revived Marines and eventually becoming their leader. Later on, he joined and led the Secret Service, achieving legend status within the army. After a break, in the Summer of 2021, he returned to lead again briefly.

After returning in February 2024, Joel planned to revive the Marines once again. However, he stopped this attempt after deciding he should join an army to see how the system worked before reviving it. Because of this, he enlisted in the Water Vikings again  – and to fight against the Templars, of course. After he reached the rank of Second in Command, Joel reconnected with Monstah and decided to revive the Secret Service, which he is still currently leading.

Complete the Sentence

For this first game, Joel was asked to complete five sentences given to him.

My favorite army I’ve been in is… Marines/Secret Service.

My favorite experience in CPA is… Beating TCP in a war 10-0 without losing a room.

My three goals before I retire are… Securing the future of SS, winning a major trophy and build SS a great legacy.

My favorite formation is… An anchor.

One person I look up to in CPA is… 32op.

Would You Rather?

Secondly, Joel was asked two Would You Rather questions.

Would you rather only be able to log on mobile to lead events for two weeks or have to think of tactics on the spot for two weeks?: I’d rather have to think of tactics on the spot for two weeks.

Would you rather never be able to use bwbs again or only be able to use the same formation for every battle you ever lead?: Never use bwbs again.

Who Sent This?

For this game, Joel was shown two messages for him, sent by two friends. He had to guess who these sentences came from!

‘Joel is stinky’

Joel: Avery, 100%.

This answer was incorrect, this person tried to make it look like someone else to throw Joel off! It was actually Logical.

This time, he got the answer right!

Two Truths, One Lie

Next up, we have a game of two truths and one lie! Joel has set this up for the reader to guess which fact is actually fiction…

1.I was going to create an army called Mischief with pranav just before CPO shut down, but due to the shutdown it never materialised.

2. I was Board of Directors for 5 minutes on CPOAL.

3. I once had an alt account which was staff in the rival army to the one I was in at the time.

Challenging Joel to a DuEl!

For the final game, Joel was asked about their favorite minigame in Club Penguin Journey.

Joel: Sled racing, 100%

With that in mind, he was challenged to a duel on CPJ and naturally, he won in a best of three battle!
