Vanguard Penguin Federation Shuts Down!

The Vanguard Penguin Federation has officially closed its doors just one month after opening. What led to its sudden closure?

The Vanguard Penguin Federation opened its doors for the first time on July 11, hosting its first Club Penguin event. The army was created by Erm and Pain of War, the latter of whom joined the community just six months prior to its opening. During their opening event, they were able to max 10 penguins. Ultimately, this event was a success VPF as they were new to the community with little experience. On the same day, they allied with both Blizzard Battalion and Spartans of Club Penguin, aiming to gain relations in the community

Despite being new to the community, the Federation aimed to be a staple of the community. Their aims were high and they were eager to prove themselves. In their first week, they placed 13th in the Top Ten. However, they were unable to place higher than this in the weeks following. After their second week within the community, they failed to host any events. This saw them miss out on a placement within the Top Tens.

Vanguard’s opening event

On August 16, Pain of War announced that the army would officially be closing. While there were hints that the closure may be temporary, there was a strong but personal reason behind the army’s closure. Ultimately, he encouraged his troops to continue supporting their allies to help them thrive. Despite his message of the army’s shutdown being clear, some questions remain.

Club Penguin Armies contacted Pain of War, VPF’s Leader, to learn more about the closure of the army.

Why was VPF closed? Why didn’t the other leaders take the lead?

A few months ago, I was diagnosed with bone cancer. Unfortunately, it has now progressed to the point where I need a lot of treatment and will require a significant amount of time for recovery. As a result, I have decided to close VPF. The other leader was dealing with numerous personal issues, including family problems. Given the unfortunate timing, I don’t want them to do anything for the army.

What did you plan for VPF?

My plan for VPF was to build a strong army. I wanted to recruit many people, but I was undergoing treatment at the time and didn’t have much opportunity to do so.

Is the closure of VPF permanent or temporary?

The army may reopen at some point, but I cannot guarantee anything.

Pain of War stated that the army was disbanded due to his diagnosis of bone cancer and that Erm is dealing with numerous personal issues. Pain of War also stated that he wanted to build a strong army and recruit many people, but since he was undergoing treatments he did not get much time to do so. There are still hopes that the army may reopen someday. However, only time will tell.

What do you think about the closure of the army? Do you think VPF will re-open ever? We wish Pain Of War our best wishes during this tough time.
