Welcome back to Behind The Scenes, the column where we delve into the day-to-day life of a community member. In this edition, we dive into the life of Senior Reporter Fun X Time, to understand who he is behind the screens.

Fun X Time

Fun X Time introduced himself to the army community via the Club Penguin Online Army League around February 28th, 2020. He first enlisted in the Aliens of CPO, after being approached by Bestpenguin, the army leader. Nonetheless, with the closure of Club Penguin Online on May 2020, he spent some time away from the wide community and focused on creating his own Club Penguin Private Server.

After some weeks, Fun X Time decided it was time to create his own army: The Penguin Federation Army. The army was soon rebranded to Heroes of Club Penguin, which was later registered in Club Penguin Army Hub. Unfortunately, his army would not last long, as it faced several issues involving defacements. Because of that, he had no option but to shut it down.

On June 15th, 2020, Army Legend Ganger90 went on to recruit Fun X Time to the Special Weapons and Tactics, the army he is still in to this very day. Upon joining the army, he met several important figures in SWAT, including CoolguySammie DSophie, and Sweater. Since then, he has been an active and loyal troop, quickly rising through the ranks. However, it took him two years to earn a promotion to Leader-in-Training.

Finally, on November 15th, 2023, Fun X Time, alongside FWAPO and Bull Hour, was promoted to leadership by LEGOMAN, who had also announced his departure from the army. The leadership suffered some alterations by that time. After a war against the Elite Guardians, he saw himself solo leading the army, as both of his co-leaders also left the army. Until this very day, he continues to solo lead the army, relentlessly guiding his troops and trying his best to improve his dear community.

Putting his army career aside, Club Penguin Armies approached Fun X Time in order to understand who he is behind the scenes.

What hobbies do you have outside of Club Penguin Armies?

Out of Club Penguin Armies, I have a lot of dutiful hobbies. I dedicate my time to programming and creativity. Creativity might be the most useful resource. I am also a caretaker of society, and I am associated with projects at school that allow me to build up social skills, as well as protect society from social evils. I love pursuing leadership skills.

Who or what inspires you the most?

When it comes to the field of programming, Tim Berners Lee would be one who I have been inspired by. His notable efforts on the Internet have pioneered advancements in technology around the world. In Club Penguin armies, SWAT legends might be the ones that have inspired me the most, most notably Ganger90, for their words and actions during wartime. Most importantly, I am an inspiration to myself. My actions have made me change and improve and will continue to.

How did you come up with your nickname?

Here is the full story behind the origin of my nickname, a story most of you have heard of. My name was formerly Krill 300. The name was derived when I wanted to make friends with individuals with similar nicknames in a game known as Tanki Online back in 2018. Before deciding on this name, I believe I had a username Dima, which is another Russian name, because I wanted to be friends with users named Dima. I soon realized that I had a typo in my name Krill, it was actually supposed to be Kirill. I added the number ‘300’ because the username was taken. I used the name Lenovo before using Krill 300, and it was hacked because I gave my password away to someone who wanted it desperately. But, I loved to make new accounts!

Years later, in 2020, I learned the Animaker software, a pathetic video maker. I made a YouTube channel, assuming I would get 100M subscribers, which I did not. I named it Fun X Time, assuming I would make videos on games. Soon, I changed my Discord name from Krill 300 to Fun X Time. I do feel nostalgic when people call me using my former nickname!

What are your favorite moments in the community?

My favorite moments in the army community might be those that are recent. Joining SWAT’s leadership is one of these favorite moments. Some more of my favorite moments date back to 2020 and 2021, especially the day I joined SWAT. When I joined SWAT, I had seen one of the most influential days of my life, as it brought the greatest changes to the army’s and the army community’s history.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

That is a fair question. I may not be in the army or the army community in five years, considering I would have to pursue the most responsible and essential tasks of my life. It is also likely that I will be on a possibly long-term hiatus rather than seeing myself retired from Club Penguin armies. However, I do not have faith in cherishing the army community then, looking at how armies work. Certainly, I will cherish my time in SWAT for as long as possible! If armies continue to criticize SWAT and my efforts, please remember that I devote myself to the wisest words:

“People will criticize your efforts. Climb so high that you will not see them.”

From this interview, we could learn that he is truly passionate about programming and technology. Not only that, but his dedication in SWAT and in the reporting team are also noticeable and commendable. We, at Club Penguin Armies, wish Fun X Time the very best of luck in his current and future endeavors. Have you managed to learn anything new about him? Who do you want to see next in this column?
