Welcome back to Behind the Scenes, the column where we look into the day-to-day life of a community member. In today’s edition, we will look into the life of Aubz, who currently serves as moderator, Top Ten Committee member, and Community Committee Head.

Aubz started her journey at the end of 2019. While playing Club Penguin Online, she came across Doritos and decided to join them. This partnership, however, was short-lived, and Aubz parted ways after several events. She witnessed people leaving Doritos for the Ice Warriors, and thus, she joined them in their departure. Unlike in Doritos, she tried to actively engage and gain a higher ranking. She kept up her hard work and was offered the position of HCOM in Special Weapons and Tactics during its revival in 2020. It was an offer that Aubz accepted.
She stayed in SWAT for the better part of 2020, being hard at work despite leaving and returning several times. During the summer of 2020, a key moment in her career took place. Together with Mare, they created the One Direction Army. ODA was, in the beginning, a meme army. However, it soon became a staple of the S/M army scene. Under the expert guidance of Mare and Aubz, the army secured a stable place in the top tens of the S/M scene. Her delightful guidance of ODA and SWAT at the same time warranted her S/M Legend nomination. Unfortunately, she did not gain the title of S/M legend, but nobody knows what the future might bring.
One Direction Army battling Golden Troops
After the first half of 2021, Aubz focused more on organization positions instead of army positions and retired from armies. She has been a judge since 2020 and still is to this day. Eventually, she wanted to give armies a chance once again. In 2022, she joined the Water Vikings. Before her retirement, she took part in the Second Eagre Foray War and Legends Cup XII. Upon her retirement, she became a moderator and joined the Community Committee. Her hard work paid off by becoming the Head of said department, judging several high-profile battles, and being one of the most influential people in today’s armies.
Outside of CPA, Aubz is a very outgoing person with many interesting hobbies and a large drive. She is an active person and enjoys playing indoor soccer, which she played since she was little. Aubz also finds joy in books and building legos. Aubz also has a degree in Social Work, which further boosted her wisdom.
Certainly, a LEGO set that Aubz would love to have
It is clear that Aubz is one of the most influential and wisest people in armies. Her drive and skill helped her gain the Community Committee Head and be a successful leader. Therefore, Club Penguin Armies approached Aubz to learn more about who she is behind the scenes.
How would you describe your personality?
that’s a hard one I think that I am a very outgoing person I try to talk to and create as many relationships as I can! I try and be approachable but sometimes that doesn’t work LMFAOOO! I think i’m pretty funny and trustworthy and I am super loyal to all my friends.
Who is Aubz behind the scenes?
I think my online personality and my irl personality are quite similar. I always try and stay true to who I am in any part of my life whether that be work, friends, or even discord! I think I’ve learned a lot about how to interact with people since graduating with my degree in Social Work so I try and show everyone I interact with the same compassion and empathy I would want for myself! I think since graduating I have a greater appreciation for being alone and taking time for myself!! When i’m offline I usually try and spend it with my friends or my dogs or even my family! Relationships are such an important part of life but nothing is more important than your relationship with yourself and how you feel about who you are.
What is your favorite moment during your journey through Club Penguin Armies?
I think my favorite moment is winning an outstanding award for my time as Community Committee Head! All my time in armies was great but I think being CC head is where I feel most at home. CC is so unique because we focus on all the good parts of why people like armies and try to keep things fun so being recognized for all my hard work I had put in was an awesome moment for me.
As a committee head, do you have any plans for the future?
I have so many fun ideas and starting to work with Calgo at the beginning of this year has been so helpful! Calgo and I work really well together and support each other very nicely. I think the community can look forward to some old traditions as well as some brand new activities!
Do you have any wisdom you’d like to share?
I think that what i’ve learned most from being part of this community is that you have to be honest and be true to yourself. When you start sneaking around and being awful to people is when you start to get yourself in trouble. If you are going to be awful to someone i know it’s hard because it’s online and people like to hide behind the screen do it to their hypothetical face and don’t hide behind anything else because you WILL get caught LMAOO! Also try and remember that this is supposed to be fun and if you find yourself getting mad about it remember that is literally online and it’s supposed to be fun. Lastly put yourself out there and don’t be afraid to try new things and talk to new people you never know who you might find or what you might enjoy if you never try it 🙂
