As the new year begins, we look back and reflect on the people who contributed to making 2022 one to remember. It is yet again time for the annual induction process, ran by the legends committee team, and hosted only here at Club Penguin Armies.
For some time now, the inductions process for legends has occurred independently of organizations. Those in charge of the committee, Iceyfeet1234 (Ice Warriors‘ creator) and Mchappy (former Commander in Chief of the Army of Club Penguin), are legends themselves, joined by a team of other legends in a committee. Once again, they were assisted by Orange, former Chief Executive Producer of Club Penguin Armies, to help run the small-medium inductions.
Following the announcement of these nominations, the committee themselves will continue to hold discussions regarding inductions. The main committee is made up of 11 individuals who we believe will be able to make fair assessments as they were all active in some shape or form during the year 2022. They will all have an equal say in proceedings and have one vote per candidate. Candidates need 6 votes (or 8 votes, in the case of the small-medium inductions) in order to be inducted as a legend for 2022, as they will hold an overall majority of the committee at this threshold. Below are the individuals that make up the legends committee this year:
- Iceyfeet1234 – 2008 Army Legend
- Mchappy – 2011 Army Legend
- Orange – 2016 S/M Army Legend
- Ayan – 2020 Army Legend
- Crazzy – 2020 Army Legend
- CSY – 2020 Army Legend
- DMT – 2019 Army Legend
- Regan – 2020 Army Legend
- Superhero123 – 2019 Army Legend
- Xing – 2018 Army Legend
- Ganger90 – 2011 Army Legend
The following are only voting on small-medium legends, aided by the main committee:
- Freedomist – 2020 S/M Army Legend
- Lightningmcj – 2020 S/M Army Legend
- Mare – 2021 S/M Army Legend
Please note that those only voting on the small-medium legends have, and will continue, to contribute to the overall discussion.
The second part of the vote is, of course, down to you: the community vote. Every single person in our community will have the opportunity to vote once on each candidate. The top three in the community votes will all receive one bonus vote that goes towards the 6 needed to get legend, with a second community bonus vote on offer if 50% or more of the community votes ‘yes’. These extra two votes could be a deciding factor if the committee is close.
The nominations this year are found below in alphabetical order with armies represented for major and small-medium nominations.
Major Nominations
Aaronstone42 (Water Vikings)
Aaronstone42’s first taste of success came as the leader of the legendary Underground Mafias Army. In just a handful of months, the army would rise from the bottom of the Small Medium Army Central rankings to 9th place on the Club Penguin Army Central top ten. He then moved on to the army he is most associated with today: the Water Vikings. Dubbed the ‘Blue Summer’, Aaron helped WV become relevant during the second golden age of CPA, earning the status of one of the ‘Great Leaders’ in the WV hall of fame. He later went on to lead the Pretzels and the Blue Miners Army; both of which reached sizes of 50+ and top five placements in CPAC under his command in 2015. In the CPPS era- though he began as an advisor- he would go on to lead the revival of WV in July of 2021. The army quickly rose to sizes of 25+ and competed for 5th place in the top ten. WV also declared themselves winners of a war against the Templars after their enemy stopped showing up. The crown jewel of Aaron’s career was their domination of Champions Cup VI- the first major tournament win for WV. Despite a turbulent surrounding cast, WV peaked at second place under his command in the summer of 2022 and took down Special Weapons & Tactics in the second Eagre Foray war. The culmination of his efforts came to be in Legends Cup XII, as his army advanced to the finals before a close loss to the Templars despite sizes of over 50. Even with his retirement on October 15th of 2022, he remained a key figure in the Water Vikings government, assisting the army’s tie in a war against TCP. A testament to how much he was the lifeblood of WV, the army would close on the 13th of November, less than a month after his retirement. Aaronstone’s dedication to his leadership is unrivaled, and for that, he deserves this legend nomination.

Cabin (Templars)
Cabin joined up with Templars in early 2022, finding his footing quickly and becoming a leader in June 2022. Cabin was well known previously to his Templars career, starting the year in the position of Commander in Chief at the People’s Imperial Confederation, an army he had been in since early 2021. Cabin enjoyed a successful two months as leader, consolidating the People’s Imperial Confederation as a well regarded medium army maxing upwards of 20 on multiple occasions. His main successes however all come as a Templar leading, being known as the “Enforcer of Discipline” in the army for his rigorous and relentless style of leadership, constantly holding many high rankers to account regarding performance. This leverage was allowed to Cabin due to his high work ethic and standards he set upon himself, quickly demolishing all Templar records for recruiting in a short amount of time upon his ascension. Cabins incredible recruiting was seen both at the start of 2022 with the People’s Imperial Confederation as well as Templars throughout the entire year with his numbers playing a crucial role in maintaining Templars’ top spot on the Top Ten throughout the year with sizes at a minimum of 55+ in each week of his tenure. Administratively, Cabin revolutionized not only the way Templar recruited by teaching many his ways, he also created the Templar Task Force regime, still in effect at the moment of writing: boosting staff recruiting and registering numbers dramatically. Cabins performance not only was administrative, but a strong war record of course came along with leadership quality being displayed in wars against Water Vikings, SWAT and Lime Green Army where Cabin took many victories. Cabins greatest achievement came in Legends Cup 2022, leading the army to victory against Water Vikings in the final with a max of 83 being recorded becoming only the fourth army ever to lift the prestigious trophy. All these achievements led to Cabin’s swift induction into the Templar Hall of Fame, truly establishing himself as one of the stars of 2022.

Calgocubs21 (Army of Club Penguin)
Calgocubs21 joined the Army of Club Penguin in January 2009 as a troop who would go on to have a few stints in other armies. However, Calgo’s recent story starts in June 2021 where he rejoined the Clovers and worked his way quickly up to becoming the 49th Commander in Chief in September 2022, near the army’s 16th anniversary. Right before his leadership, the Clovers had regained major army status after a long 2022 filled with ups and downs. Calgo was tasked with keeping that momentum going, something he has certainly accomplished in the later half of 2022. Only a few weeks after his promotion, the army out performed expectations by getting to the Semi Finals of the Legends Cup XII with sizes of 40. From there, Calgo attempted to start the Clover’s first real war of the year by declaring on Ice Warriors, who promptly surrendered their servers upon declaration. And while Calgo was unable to carry over his Legends Cup success into Christmas Chaos XII, the army has been able to maintain its major army status and become a top figure in the community. Calgo had woken the sleeping giant that was the Army of Club Penguin through his stubborn grit and work ethic. The army went from a period of isolation to, recently, having the most servers after a map reset in December 2022. Calgo is a reminder of what the old school leading style can accomplish.

Coolguy (Special Weapons and Tactics)
Coolguy join their first army in 2012, the UCCP, which had then introduced him to a wider community. From UCCP, eventually Coolguy had explored allies such as SWAT and DCP, which resulted in them building close bonds with those armies, helping them in battles, and building their resume along the way. They also joined and held higher ranks in armies such as Chaos in 2014, where they were a 3ic and UK leader. At the time, Chaos had shifted back and forth from a medium army to a large army. It would be in the Discord era of armies that Coolguy would get the chance to lead the historically legendary army known as SWAT. Coolguy is somebody who people in the army know will always be there for them. They joined practically at the beginning of the new generation that started in May 2020 and become leader not long after. They would then go on to have the longest consecutive reign in SWAT history by a single leader, and have also first hand witnessed SWAT’s longest generation ever – spanning over 2 years and 6 months without dying. Although there were hard times, Coolguy would prove his loyalty and dedication as no matter how SWAT was doing, they would be there. They led SWAT through countless huge wars over the past 2+ years. They witnessed and lead when SWAT hit its lowest times in late 2021 and the beginning of 2022 and they also witnessed and lead while the army maxed the highest numbers that they ever have on Discord, seeing the army reaching sizes of 48 without allies most recently in the Summer of 2022 and they have also fought through numerous tournament battles. Although not winning a trophy, a valiant effort was given, most recently with SWAT maxing 40 in the Legends Cup against the RPF and giving a very tough battle versus the true goliath of the current army community. Coolguy is somebody who will always be there for the army and shows you the everlasting importance of loyalty, as shown by their recent induction as a SWAT Legend.

Guncotton (Water Vikings)
Guncotton, who was previously known as Astro75114, rose to prominence in the AUSIA based Smart Penguins. After joining the army in September of 2013, he quickly became a leader in January of 2014. During this time, the Smart Penguins made a name for themselves in the S/M community. Though he had stops in other armies such as the creator/leader of the DJ Army- which peaked at 10th on the major top ten- and the Green Mercenaries, SP was once again home to his biggest accomplishments in 2016. Guncotton’s return to the army resulted in what is called the best generation of the Smart Penguins. The army became a mainstay under his command, even peaking at 5th place in the Top Ten on two occasions. SP also notched a war win against the Rebel Penguin Federation and a draw against the Dark Warriors at the same time. All of this helped Guncotton to become an SP legend. In 2020, Guncotton rejoined the Water Vikings and became a leader in October of that year. Though his first tenure was short lived, he once again stepped up to lead in February of 2021 when WV reopened. This was the start of a common formula for Guncotton, stepping up when the army needed him most before returning to his advisor post. During this period as leader, Guncotton led WV to an early triumph in a war against the Templars. He also saw the army reach sizes of 50 in March Madness VI, though the army failed to make it past the Elite Eight. Guncotton later returned to the leadership in December of 2021, leading the army to a max of 50 in Christmas Chaos X, where they once again made it into the top eight. Although Guncotton’s leadership periods were often short, he quickly became a lifeline for the Water Vikings; being called upon in times of need to do the ‘dirty work’. He played a huge part in helping WV become a mainstay in the CPPS army community for the past two years, thus earning the distinction of one of WV’s greatest leaders, and- in turn- this nomination.

Link3000 (Rebel Penguin Federation)
Link arrived in the Rebel Penguin Federation during the COVID-19 surge of 2020. They quickly climbed the ranks and landed a spot on the moderator team by the fall of that year. Soon after that, they joined RPF’s High Command and earned a spot in the Hall of Fame. As a 2nd-in-command, Link would make appearances leading impactful tournament battles or conquests against other armies. Then soon after becoming a Rebel Commander alongside Elexonck, Link was faced with the Summer Sovereignty War against the Templars. Despite the odds against the leadership duo and their army, RPF strove for victory. After successfully defeating the #1 army, the rebels saw a rematch against TCP in the Christmas Chaos XII finals. Once again, RPF took home another deserved title. Aside from leading an army, Link’s shown community engagement as they’ve held positions in CPAN and CPA as a Top Ten Committee Head. But throughout Link’s time in RPF, they’ve displayed the skill set of a well-rounded diplomatic leader.

He played a key part in the CPAH administration, working hard behind the scenes to improve the unified map and top 10, something the community had not seen since CP’s closure in 2017. With the community once again thrown into divide in March 2021, Max was one of the leading charges of unity, forming United Media to host AUSIA Arena and later March Madness in 2022. He later played a key role in the unification of the CPAHQ and CPAN to form Club Penguin Armies, serving as CEO of CPA until his departure in October 2022. Max is also known for his love for community events. Hosting multiple community-wide events such as the Color Wars, Spring Showdown, and two successful Community Pride Parades, Max has been one of the leading voices of pride within CPA’s LGBTQIA+ community. Without someone like Max, someone who has been at the unification table twice, it is unclear if 2022 would’ve been such a success up to his retirement.

Succeeding Barnito and Nell, her duo with Wynn would see the Help Force reach 1st place on the top ten in the last week of January 2022 and making it to the March Madness finals. She would retire after almost 10 months as leader, finishing as a Help Force icon. Zeus would begin his journey in the Army of Club Penguin as a private in May 8, 2021, quickly ranking up to Higher Command in just 2 months after making moderator in October. As Higher Command, Zeus would play a pivotal role in Operation: Vengeance, where ACP answered the call to arms alongside HF, RR and PIC to fend off the Western Bloc consisting of SE, WV and SWAT, which would eventually conclude with a truce with a war score of 23-2-3 after over a month of battling. December would see Jesus promoted to leader, just a little over one month after his debut in ACP’s Higher Command team. In just one month of leading, Zeus would place ACP back as a major contender, facing off against the Templars with sizes of 32+. Fending off against an onslaught of Templars raids in February, Zeus is also credited for successfully transitioning ACP from CPR to CPAB, bringing the army in the first time in CPPS history to solely use an army-based CPPS. Launching Project: Revival in July, Zeus once again showed his tenacity, bringing ACP back to major status once again with just a team of 3 higher command, winning the S/M Beach Brawl II tournament in August 2022. Amid a time of turbulence for ACP, Zeus would give the army stability within the S/M army environment, at multiple points reaching major status. Within ACP, he is recognized for being a recipient of the Bronze Medal Award and holding the record for number of recruits in a week.
