Deconstructing the SWAT Scandal & Allegations Against Legoman

Recently, Special Weapons and Tactics have had multiple leadership changes due to their on-going war, the biggest being Legoman’s mysterious and low-key departure. With multiple rumours going around the community, our exclusive interviews and inside information finds out the reasons that caused a shift in the leadership.

Legoman first joined the Special Weapons and Tactics back in 2020, joining their leadership on February 7th 2021. A year later, he mysteriously left the army, surrounded by multiple controversies such as doxxing and underage scenarios. He rejoined again in May 2022. Since then, SWAT has risen the ranks, from claiming second in the Top Ten, to becoming a major army.

On 24th August 2022, shock waves were sent around the community, as four major armies all declared war against SWAT, focusing on the allowance of suspicious figures within the army. One day later, on 25th August 2022, just like his previous leadership stint, Legoman once again departed from the Special Weapons and Tactics. Since then, there has been numerous rumours going around, regarding why Legoman left the army, as always, Club Penguin Armies is here to bring you all of the latest news and updates regarding such a controversial matter.

Trigger Warning: The following post contains sensitive topics and images regarding the topics of suicide, and racism.

1. Suicide

2. Manipulation and Co-Staff Mistreatment

3.  Ignorance of Racism

4. Conclusion and Statements

1: Suicide

On 14th August 2022, the first rumours began regarding SWAT, specifically Legoman, as their Third in Command, Kala left the army for good, after first enlisting back in 2021. Unexpectedly, she went onto join the Templars, where she begun speaking out about her time in Special Weapons and Tactics. She revealed that Legoman had constantly spoken to her regarding his mental health in relation to recruitment. He expressed ‘being too invested in SWAT’ in order to attain his goals of maxing up to 50, and achieving second in the Top Ten. It has also been revealed that Legoman’s sharing of his mental health made certain SWAT members uncomfortable as it put pressure on them.

CP Armies contacted Kala for a statement and pictures regarding her experience with Legoman.

I don’t know why he would do that to me. The mood change that happened when I said that I would recruit was suspicious and I don’t know if he was just trying to manipulate me or not.

Furthermore, Legoman demonstrated his fondness for a member named Berdeez, after acknowledging that they had sent threatening messages to a fellow troop, Bunnex. He went on to ask Kala to encourage Bunnex to return to SWAT for the sole reason that they had a penguin, that they needed for size. Therefore, completely disregarding the reason for their departure, stating he would speak to Berdeez about the threats, only if Bunnex agreed to rejoin the army.

2. Manipulation and Co-Staff Mistreatment

In addition to suicidal thoughts, Legoman also constantly discredited others. He would message people asking them if they were recruiting, therefore, making them feel bad if they weren’t. Of course, all army leaders ask their staff and troops to help recruit, it is how an army grows. It has been reported that Lego would shout at people to recruit, despite them already doing so. He also undermined the work of these staff members by often taking the credit for their recruits.
Much like the staff, Lego’s fellow leaders also experienced a form of mistreatment. It has been revealed that deals were made to push troops that he had befriended up the rank, without consulting others.

However, despite just thanking staff for their work, like other army leaders in the community, Legoman could be found going down a different route.  Communicating to his friends how he wanted his army to be ‘an army of mindless drones, who do his bidding’. Ignoring the fact that armies are supposed to be a fun pastime, where every member is their own person. Realistically if this is claimed to be a ‘joke’, it isn’t exactly funny nor joke-like material.

3. Ignorance of Racism

The most public and recent Legoman scandal took place on 21st August, involving the popular game, Gartic Phone. If you are unaware, the game involves participants writing and drawing a scene of their pleasing, and then trying to guess the image that they are given. Nonetheless, SWAT’s game did not run as smoothly as originally hoped, as shortly after beginning, it was overcome by multiple racism remarks. Along with the game, a voice chat took place in the army’s discord server, where controversial conversations happened regarding the remarks.

Legoman was in attendance for both the chat and the game, witnessing the ongoing racism, which as an administrator he should have immediately stopped. Although, Legoman has been seen to claim that he did indeed halt the game, multiple bystanders have confirmed that Lego did not stop the racism, he instead left the game, ignoring the staff and troops who were asking for his help. When contacted by fellow leader Coolguy, who asked why such an event even took place, Lego was seen to claim that “I didn’t know who it is, it was an anonymous game’, despite multiple players having their discord names.

Even more, when questioned about why certain users hadn’t been banned for their racism in the game, Lego used age as an excuse for players. He stated ‘it’s not their fault they’re young, everyone in the game was doing it’, implying that it is fine for young players to be racist. He additionally acknowledged that a member in the server named ‘Logan’ was racist, however when asked to ban them he replied with ‘No they actually do sh*t bruh, maybe I’ll just leave instead.’ Throughout the game and voice chat, it is clear that Lego has shown how he cares more about the sizes of the army, than about following the rules and making the server a safe place for everyone.

Therefore, to help understand more about the incident, CP Armies has been in contact with an eye-witness, who wishes to stay anonymous.
