In a shocking turn of events, after Christmas Chaos XV had recently ended, the Water Vikings declared war on the Romans. Let’s unravel the important details that led to this decision and take a look at the armies’ recent performance.

A Drenching Clash
On January 11, in an unexpected move, the Water Vikings declared war on the Romans and labelled it the War of Roman Subjugation. In their post, they state that the Romans have made persistent provocations, including troop stealing and slanderous remarks about their army. They also go further, to accuse them of harassment and manipulation in an attempt to gain more members. Shortly after releasing the post, the Vikings went on to schedule their first invasion. It was labelled as the invasion of “Znations Intelligence”. The battle is expected to take place tomorrow at 8pm EST.

Vikings versus romans
On one side, the Water Vikings are a major army that celebrated its fifteenth birthday just a few weeks ago. 2025 was a good year for them, managing to win wars and a tournament, gaining the Candy Crusher Small Medium division trophy. Despite having several leadership changes, they managed to remain a strong army, reaching the Christmas Chaos XV Semi Finals in December. They also achieved first place in the Top Ten a few times throughout the summer. In the most recent Top Ten of the Year, they managed to get fourth place, which further shows their consistent strength. They have been third and fourth in the two Top Tens of this year. The army is currently led by Escot, Lydia and Mato.
On the other side, there are the Romans. The Romans are a reputable army that returned to the community on June 8, 2025. Despite being new and having been through a lot of leadership transitions, the army survived and has become influential in the Small Medium community. Ever since their return, they have formed alliances with several armies, which further shows their influence. The Roman leaders are currently Znation and Csani, with the latter having been promoted just a bit over a month ago. When it comes to the Top Ten performance, they have placed ninth and twelfth in the two Top Tens of this year.
The first unofficial battle
A raid occurred on the same day as the declaration, January 11, with a noticeable gap in size differences. WV was undoubtedly able to overcome the Romans and be successful in their raid. This seemed like a warning and a warmup with the battle first official battle being scheduled for January 13, 2025, as it was mentioned earlier.

How would you describe the tensions between Water Vikings and Romans before you declared war?
Before the war declaration, I would describe the tensions between WV and Romans as slowly rising and building up more and more over the time when we were looking into the troopstealing instances
How did you react to Romans troop stealing personally?
Personally, it was very annoying to see it occurring and us not doing anything about it until what we did earlier today with the post and everything. Honestly they deserved it just going at us due to being influenced to hate on anything WV related
Does your army have any future goals that may stem from this war?
Yes, our army has future goals that may grow out of this war. There’ll definitely be benefits occurring but you never know what to expect. The main priority for now is this war and then we will see what happens.

The war stems from multiple accounts of wrongdoings done by the Romans and WV is on it’s path to avenge their reputation. Furthermore, WV looks undeniably certain of the future beyond this war.
