On September 18th, the wii phone army opened its doors for the first time to the public. In this post, we will go through the creation of the wii phone and why they decided to join armies now after calling for its opening for the last few months.

The wii phone army was created by Lort533, with the intention of opening up in June. However, the army only saw its inauguration soon after Legends Cup XV had been finished. Named after the iconic Wii Phone meme, Lort planned to open up this fresh new community to the public after leaving the Doritos of Club Penguin.

The opening event was held later that day. The Wii Phones only needed 10 to be a fully registered army, but managed to max 12 penguins at the end of the day.

Wii Phones Opening Event
Club Penguin Armies reached out to Lort533 to learn more about the opening event and the future of the army in an exclusive interview.
What was your reason for opening up the army now after it being delayed for three months?
TWO being made and WV forbidding troops to participate on either side helped me as I left WV soon after (and before that dual enlisting to WV and my own army would be problematic)
With your experience in former armies, do you believe you will take the Wii Phones in the same direction of those you were once in? Or will you take the more unserious route?
I’m definitely not looking towards being major any time soon (by choice), I have a silly idea to do but mostly staying as a calm, typical S/M army
Did you face any challenges along the way when creating the Wii Phones?
Well, randomly deciding to finally open the army and inviting people to be on the opening event was sure challenging and kinda stressful, because the 10+ max wasn’t obvious and some invited people couldn’t come.
Do you plan on having your army participate in any tournaments and/or wars if that time comes?
If I don’t end up being the only person that attends the events, then sure LOL
Finally, do you have any words for the community and your Wii Phone members?
Probably a good place to mention that even though this Army seems to be a Meme Army, I kinda treat it like a serious army with a silly name, so just call the Wii Phone
With the Wii Phones finally open to the public, a question remains. Will this be the start of meme armies finally taking a place in the community once more? Will this bring a fresh change to the Army Community? What do you think this means for the future of the Wii Phones and the future of the Army Community? Will you answer their call?
