Welcome to Penguin Puzzlers, a column dedicated to enquiring about the knowledge of community members. In this edition, we are testing the community’s knowledge of the recent Legends Cup XV tournament.

Designed by Cassie
Legends Cup XV marked the 15th instalment of the legendary Legends Cup tournament. Being started 14 years ago on 30 June 2011 the tournament has seen 15 instalments all the way up to 2025. Just like most tournaments, it allows armies to show their power and skills. This instalment had the slightly controversial mechanic of the wheel, where the quarter-finals and semi-finals had pairings decided by random chance. Additionally, one could gamble upon the outcome of battles (using fictional currency; unfortunately, Club Penguin Armies does not have a gaming license, nor could we get one due to literally operating off a children’s game). With that exposition out of the way, let us take a look at the tournament itself.
Qualifiers
July 19
Void Troops versus Fire Vikings
First of the Baccarat Conference and the tournament as a whole is VT versus Fire Vikings. The battle was not close at all. Already in room 1 it was 13-4 with clean forms and good activity; they actively roasted FV’s discoordination and AFKs. Rooms 2 and 3 did not play out any differently. VT won this battle 3-0.

VT vs. FV – Inside Mines
Water Vikings versus Scarlet Republic
Next up is WV versus SR. Another one-sided battle with sizes 61-7. Both armies struggled with AFKs, and SR had particularly bad forms compared to WV. Rooms 2 and 3 went similarly. In Room 3, WV went into an A form and then a double V form (That is an upside-down V and a normal V at the same time). 3-0 win for WV.

WV vs. SR – Docks
July 20
Help Force versus Special Weapons and Tactics
In a completely one-sided battle, HF destroyed SWAT with sizes of 30-5. Not really much to say due to the judging guidelines at the time pretty much automatically handing the victory to the bigger army in the case of such a huge size difference.

Jackpot Conference: Help Force vs. SWAT
Doritos of Club Penguin versus Shadow Legionnaires
The Shadow Legionnaires no-showed, and thus, DCP was awarded an automatic 3-0 victory.

Jackpot Conference: Doritos vs. Shadow Legionaries
Elite Guardians of Club Penguin versus Templars of Club Penguin
EGCP no-showed. TCP victory.

Quarter-finals
July 26
Templars of Club Penguin versus Water Vikings
Room 1 already was in WV’s favour, with WV outnumbering the templars 63-51, with more creative and unique formations. Meanwhile, TCP were still as statues in horrible forms. Room 2 went about the same with a size difference of 20. And Room 3 showed slightly better formations and movement on the part of the Templars.

WV VS TCP – Inside Mines
Army of Club Penguin versus Help Force
This battle was very close. Room 1 was 25-28 favouring HF in sizes. However, both sides struggled with AFKs and forms with a final result of a tie. Room 2 was a similar story; HF managed to gain slightly neater forms, and HF had a bigger size, and the two armies took turns covering each other. Room 3 had HF having way more imaginative forms like Us and Zs, whilst ACP had extended Hes and Triangles; this won HF room 3 and the battle.

HF VS ACP – Iceberg
July 27
Aliens of Club Penguin versus Void Troops
In Room 1, the Aliens dominated; they executed well with a significant size advantage (57-27 in favour of Aliens); of note VT’s formations were particularly bad and gappy on the right side. Room 2 was a similar story with sizes 57-23. Room 3 had improvement for the aliens, sizes 59-21. The aliens won this battle

Aliens vs VT – Casa Fiesta
Doritos of Club Penguin versus Rebel Penguin Federation
Since DCP shut down, this was an automatic win for RPF. Not counted as a 3-0 in question 10.

Semifinals
August 2
Rebel Penguin Federation versus Water Vikings
The semifinals went off with a bang as WV reached a max of 88 and RPF reached a max of 80.
WV entered room 1 first and made a star; RPF followed second and made a circle. The problem being the lockouts meant that each army dropped to around 50. RPF were seen as having better completion and coverage; however, at some point both armies covered each other equally; RPF won the first room.
In room 2 RPF entered first with both armies perfectly cancelling each other out, where RPF had an advantage. WV had an advantage, and where WV had an advantage, RPF had a different advantage, and thus the room is a tie.
Room 3 had WV dominating, with cleaner and more creative forms; RPF struggled with coverage for most of the room; all in all, this left the whole battle a tie; overtime was to happen.
In the overtime room, sizes were 73-39 with RPF covering well and WV struggling to defend. This allowed RPF to win the overtime room and secure the victory!

Aliens of Club Penguin versus Help Force
The last battle of the weekend was between Aliens and HF. HF entered first, sizes 60-47 in favour of Aliens, as both armies took their time getting into forms. Both armies did well, and thus Room 1 was a tie. Room 2 started, and Aliens improved, taking a formation that easily took the chatbar; despite HF getting into forms faster, the Aliens managed to grab the W. In Room 3, HF instantly brought up the pace, using forms that hid their relatively small size; this allowed them to win the room and start overtime. HF entered Overtime first; however, they had significantly slowed, and their small size was starting to show. Aliens instantly took this opportunity and won Overtime and thus the battle.

Grand Finals

Aliens of Club Penguin versus Rebel Penguin Federation
We’re here; this is the end – one battle to decide it all. And in the left corner, with a Top Ten score of 72,71 we have Aliens of Club Penguin! And in the right corner, with a Top Ten score of 77,80, the highest of any army, we have Rebel Penguin Federation!
RPF entered first and got into a triangle; Aliens followed second and made a +. Sizes were 65-48 in favour of RPF as Aliens moved first. RPF got into a Z as Aliens struggled with their form, eventually forming a triangle. RPF victory.
Room 2 had RPF enter first. Despite the Aliens having a size advantage of 69-43, RPF was able to appear bigger. RPF moved into an X, and Aliens into an anchor. RPF defended well as they went into an A form that resisted the Alien attack. Overall, the room was a tie.
Room 3 RPF once again entered first. Sizes 70-43 in their favour as Aliens got into an underlined + as RPF surrounded the room. First form switch had RPF moving into an underlined + and Aliens. RPF moved into a Z as Aliens moved into an X, causing RPF to move into a U due to the coverage. With a 2-0-1 result, RPF won this battle and thus the tournament.

Conclusion:
The points have been tallied. for numerical questions, whoever got the closest gets the point (in case of a tie, all tied participants get the point) and in multi-part questions, each part is worth a point. Nobody got a perfect score of 17; however, Jojo Teri won with 13 points.

Overall, the participants managed to get a cumulative score of 32⁄51, or an accuracy rate of about 62,74509804%
In summary; we have gotten a lot of wonderful data on the knowledge of army leaders. Impressively enough the accuracy managed to go above, not only 50%, but 60%. What do you think about RPF winning? What do you think about the wheel? How do you think you would do on this questionaire?
