On July 23, the Doritos of Club Penguin announced their official shutdown. Let’s explore what led to this and what the future holds for their community.
A Legacy Built
Formed in February 2010 by Wwebestfan, the Doritos of Club Penguin have remained a formidable force within the army community. Their legacy has witnessed many highs and lows since their revival on November 3. With multiple tournament campaigns, they have reached the Grand Finals in the Christmas Chaos XIV tournament. They have recently engaged in several wars with armies such as the Void Troops and the Templars.
The Dorito Decline
Amidst internal controversy and leadership disputes, several members opted for retirement, precipitating a period of instability for the Doritos. This tumultuous phase saw a marked decline in their event participation. Resultingly, they recently fell to the Small/Medium army status following an extended era of diminished activity.
On July 23, former leader, Megha announced her retirement from the army. Shortly after, the Doritos officially announced their closure in a farewell message to the community. The announcement marked the end of an era for the once-prominent force, leaving behind a mixed legacy of competitive triumphs and turbulent decline.
Club Penguin Armies reached out to Doritos Legend, Mustapha10, to gain his perspective on these recent events.
