In a finals match that many saw coming, the Aliens of Club Penguin and Rebel Penguin Federation were this year’s Legends Cup XV grand finalists. Both armies are absolute powerhouses in the community, and the final battle showcased that. RPF is an army that knows championships the best, boasting many trophies in its cabinet. If there is one army to topple them, though, it is the Aliens. They are fresh and have already shown they are serious with their championship win at Around the World Cup II. Despite this recent success from the Aliens, the community still leaned towards the more experienced Rebels. Nonetheless, the answer came to light on Saturday, and it was a thrilling one.
Aliens of Club Penguin vs. Rebel Penguin Federation
The grand finals started at Inside Mines, before shifting to Iceberg, and then to Casa Fiesta. Beginning with the first room, the Rebels entered first and made a triangle that covered the room well. Aliens entered the room second and made a plus, but seemed to be a bit slower than RPF. Afterwards, the Aliens moved first as RPF joined in on the tactic. Sizes were 65 Rebels to 48 Aliens. RPF then made a Z, while the Aliens struggled with their form execution before settling into a triangle. Overall, Room One saw complete domination from the Rebels, displaying faster tactics and better completion.

Advancing to Room Two, the chosen location was Iceberg. Once again, RPF entered first, but both armies bombed with big word bubbles upon entering. This time around, the size advantage sat with the Aliens, 69 to 43. Despite that, the Rebels still managed to appear as the larger army. Now moving into new forms, RPF made an X as the Aliens created an anchor. In these forms, RPF continued to have better coverage. To close out the room, RPF executed an A form as the Aliens attempted to attack it. This was defended by RPF, but they still found themselves surrounded by the Aliens. Altogether, since neither army could best the other, this room was declared a tie.

In the third and final room, RPF once again entered first and then surrounded the room with a diagonal formation. During that, the Aliens made an underlined plus. By this point, the sizes were 70 Rebels to 43 Aliens. Following these initial forms, the Rebels then made their own underlined plus, while ACP made a trident. Finally, the Rebels performed a Z as the Aliens created an X form. In this X, the Aliens showed good coverage, as they made RPF move into a new U form. However, this last-minute rally was not enough, as this room was still under total control by the Federation. With a 2-0-1 result, the Rebel Penguin Federation is crowned as the 2025 Legends Cup XV champions.

In a special interview, Club Penguin Armies reached out to RPF leader Link3000 to get some behind-the-scenes answers on the Rebels’ path to victory.
The Legends Cup is a highly prestigious tournament in Club Penguin Armies. How does victory feel?
It feels absolutely amazing. We haven’t been able to win Legends Cup since 2021 and the entire army was thirsty for it. So finally being able to win after coming so close to winning the last few years is pretty incredible.
What was the preparation like leading up to the tournament?
To be honest nothing fancy. Heavy emphasis on recruiting and training and of course maintaining hype. We tried to keep things interesting with giveaways people would enjoy but also make sure people were attending because they wanted to. Not being able to fight in the Quarter Finals and going into the Semis with no expectation or really knowing our current strenghts in a tournament (since March Madness) and going against an army like Water Vikings was not the way I had hoped it would be. So we had to make sure we were in our best form.
How confident were you throughout this tournament? Was there ever a close moment or battle that left you worrying?
I had a lot of confidence in my army but I did not take any of these battles for granted. There were moments of worry and I made sure not to underestimate any of our opponents. There were few times during our battle with Water Vikings where I was concerned we were going to lose. During the Finals battle against Aliens, it was a similar situation. I knew we were doing well but so were they. They were both honestly amazing battles.
Lastly, what was RPF’s key factor to success? Do you think were was anything you guys could have done better?
I think the key to RPF’s success is the community and hard work. The way everyone came together hyped for the tournament, but more importantly, the way everyone celebrated in VC when we won the finals showed me how invested everyone was, not just the staff team. Speaking of staff team, our Officer team absolutely carried during this tournament and they were a major factor in our success.
Everyone here at Club Penguin Armies would like to congratulate the Rebel Penguin Federation on their championship victory and give praise to a hard-fought battle by the Aliens of Club Penguin. This year’s Legends Cup grand finals were entertaining for all spectators, no matter the outcome.
Also, we would like to thank the Club Penguin Army Judges and Club Penguin Armies Battleground for making this whole tournament possible! Along with this, shoutout to MasterDS for designing the amazing trophy. Were these the results you predicted? Who did you want to win? If you were a leader, what would you have done differently?
