Going into June, the Around the World Cup II has already featured some captivating and intense battles. As armies prepare for clashes in the US and AUSIA time zones, tensions are truly beginning to run high. This innovative tournament was designed to encourage the community to embrace new battle challenges through a format that differs from traditional tournaments.

On Tuesday, May 27, two Group A battles took place: the Army of Club Penguin faced off against the Void Troops, while the Doritos of Club Penguin battled the Templars. The following day, May 28, Group B saw its turn, with the Fire Vikings taking on the Water Vikings, and the Aliens facing off against the Scarlet Republic.

Army of Club Penguin VS. vOID TROOPS

The battle began with ACP entering first, followed by VT. Sizes were 22-13 in favor of ACP. ACP formed a clean V, while VT started unorganized with a small V that later turned into a Y. ACP moved first with a strong rake that fully covered the room, and VT couldn’t defend. VT then formed a plus and later bombed into an X, though it took time to fix. Both armies had decent formations by the end, but ACP covered more due to their size and speed.

In the second room at the Docks, both armies were disorganized early on. ACP made a UV that turned into an A, while VT formed a BL. The size gap increased to 25-11. ACP bombed first and covered VT, which failed to defend. VT responded with a bomb, but ACP’s formation took control of the room. ACP ended strong with a scatter. In Room 3, ACP held formation early while VT struggled to keep up. With the size gap clear, ACP maintained control throughout. With the growing size gap, ACP improved with each room, securing a clear win in all three and taking the overall victory in the battle.

Aliens VS. Scarlet Republic

The battle began with the Aliens entering first and quickly forming a V, while SR entered late and made a horizontal line. Sizes were 29-7 in favor of the Aliens, who moved fast with a triangle form, while SR struggled to defend. Aliens stayed consistent with their speed, while SR were mostly covered and bunched. Despite a few messy spots from the Aliens, their size and pace gave them the edge, securing Room 1.

In Room 2, Aliens again entered first and made strong forms while SR remained barely visible. SR attempted some formations and tactics, but the Aliens held control through solid formations and quick bombs. Room 3 saw more of the same, with Aliens maintaining dominance through creative forms and near full coverage of SR. With strong tactics, speed, and consistent size, the Aliens dominated all three rooms and claimed a clear victory.

With the conclusion of these battles, it’s quite apparent that the next half of this tournament is sure to be interesting. Despite the no-shows, some interesting battles still took place, showing the spark of the community. Congratulations to DCP, Aliens, WV, and ACP on winning their battles! As we look ahead to the US battles, we are excited to see what may result from them. Were you expecting these results? How do you think the US battles will go?
