A Rocky Past

The Army of Club Penguin and the Water Vikings have both had a long history as two of the oldest active armies. Throughout this time, the two have been on opposing sides of several wars. One of the more recent conflicts involving both armies as belligerents was the Forlosning War, declared on April 25, 2024, by the Army of Club Penguin. Thereafter, the Vikings claimed victory against the Clovers on May 10, 2024, with a score of 12 victories, one tie, and one loss. Previously, both armies were on opposing sides during World War VIII and World War IX. Since the Forlosning War, however, the armies have avoided conflict with each other.

A Brighter Future

On April 12, the two armies met on the battlefield once more. This time, they engaged in a practice battle that saw the Vikings win by one room. Shortly after the battle’s conclusion, ACP leader Roxy announced the alliance between the Army of Club Penguin and the Water Vikings. Additionally, she acknowledged the past rivalry between the two armies. She showed optimism about the future, stating that the improvement of the relationship between the two armies is a main reason behind cementing their unity.

This is one of many changes that the armies have experienced in the past month. WV recently welcomed a new leader, SavageCobra, while bidding farewell to Raven116. The Clovers also added a new leader to their ranks, with Daniel20448 being inducted last month. The new move towards an alliance could be indicative of changing attitudes within both armies’ leadership. Additionally, they are not the only armies that have changed their allegiances, as several armies have formed alliances in recent weeks. Another change has notably come from ACP itself, as they recently broke their alliance with the People’s Imperial Confederation, showing the possibility that more updates are yet to come.

Club Penguin Armies interviewed ACP Commander-in-Chief Roxy and Viking Commander SavageCobra, who revealed the reasons why they have joined forces.

How would you describe the past relationship between ACP and WV? Have there been rivalries or previous alliances?

Roxy: We used to be allies till we weren’t anymore! However we’d like to keep the past remain in the past and move towards a bright future!!
Cobra:
I can’t speak directly on the past relationship from a WV standpoint. I know in CPPS armies though, especially in 2022-2024, there was a nice and friendly rivalry. Dino considers Calgo his favorite opponent, and there was a mutual respect between both the leaders and armies during that era. I know Cabin also encouraged that rivalry a bit, which played a part in the WV-ACP conflict that went on last year, which WV ended up de facto winning. Ever since, though, ACP and WV have became much more friendly, with a big thanks to Raven being relatively close to the ACP folks. I also have developed a friendship over the times with Roxy and others, so the alliance was merely not a matter of if but moreso when.

How will this alliance affect your current relationships with other armies, especially those you have both clashed with?

Roxy: Our alliance doesn’t really affect our relations with other armies. We hope it sets a positive example of moving past old rivalries and focusing on a brighter future, encouraging better relations across the community.
Cobra: I don’t see it really affecting any relationship, to be honest. We are allies with RPF and HF, and they are also pretty tight with ACP. I could maybe see it bothering some of the DCP people, but the DCP folks and WV folks, while neutral, are definitely not hostile and it’s not uncommon for either army to be in each others chats. So, I don’t see the alliance really affecting any relationship with any army.

What message do you think this alliance sends to the broader CPA community?

Roxy: I believe our alliance portrays our willingness to move beyond past conflicts and strive towards a better future in a united front.
Cobra:

Any final thoughts?

Roxy: We’re excited to see what the alliance holds in future!
Cobra: Let’s hope to a fun year, hopefully without trying to go at each other’s throats too much.

In a conflict-ridden community, such alliances redefine the very battlefield. Despite a past tainted by numerous conflicts, the two previous rivals now stand shoulder-to-shoulder, opting for unity. Will their new partnership change the tide of wars in the future? Can two giants of CPA sustain trust within a world constructed of fluid loyalties?
