ACP’s Acquisition of Mammoth

Mammoth’s Historical Importance

Throughout army history, the community considered Mammoth to be one of the most important servers. In the early days of armies, many armies fought their battles there. For example, the struggle for control of Mammoth resulted in numerous wars, such as World War III and World War IV. Following the latter, Mammoth became a neutral site that did not hold as much significance. With these conflicts, Mammoth played a crucial role in several conflicts as the server changed hands frequently. At the same time, the server lost some of its prestige due to its immense popularity among regular Club Penguin users.

For the army community, armies stopped using the server as much by 2012. While there were efforts to revive Mammoth, not all these efforts were very successful. Subsequently, many armies claimed to own the server, such as the Rebel Penguin Federation, Nachos, Light Troops, and Ice Warriors. Regardless, the Army of Club Penguin invaded the server back from LT and Night Warriors in June 2012. Later on, ACP repelled LT’s efforts to take the server back. Despite these victories, ACP finally lost the server to the Black Alliance in January 2013. Due to their size disadvantage, the Clover Defenders logged off, thanks to the Pirates‘ max of 22 penguins to ACP’s 7 troops. Over the next year, the server remained out of ACP’s hands as the army participated in several wars. Overall, Mammoth had no consistent ownership after ACP lost the server in 2008.

Pirates’ Successful Invasion of Mammoth

March 31, 2014

By early 2014, LT maintained ownership of Mammoth as a member of the BA. Simultaneously, their rivalry with ACP continued even through LT’s various generations. On the other hand, LT experienced significant inner turmoil due to disagreements among staff members. Consequently, the army shut down as Waterkid100 had numerous problems with Spi101‘s previous departures from the army. As a result, he also issued a warning to other armies about hiring the latter due to his lack of faith in Spi101’s loyalty. Nonetheless, LT closed at the same time Pirates came back from the dead. Given the army’s shutdown, ACP used an opening left by LT’s closure to reclaim Mammoth from its enemies. After other armies forfeited their claims, ACP easily obtained ownership of Mammoth for the first time since January 2013. Ultimately, these events aided ACP in getting ownership of Mammoth back without a war.

Revival of Fire Warriors

Creation of Fire Warriors and Shutdown

In 2007, Wwe09 created Fire Warriors and quickly allied with IW, Dark Warriors, and Gugu Pengu’s Romans. However, the army shut down months later after the creator deleted its website. Following its initial closure, FW re-opened under the name of Roman Fire Warriors. With the merger of multiple armies, RFW established itself as a major power in the army scene. Over its duration, the Top Ten ranking regularly featured the army in its top three armies of the week. Eventually, the army returned to the name of FW after their numbers fell. Additionally, the army also used the Ninjas name for some time and achieved some of its highest sizes. Under the Ninjas name, the army won two Club Penguin Army Central tournaments and reached the top three of the Top Ten. Regardless of their success, the army closed in February 2013. Not long after, FW returned and engaged in wars with powerhouses like LT. Despite their return, the army still had problems that plagued previous iterations of the army. Subsequently, the army shut down by March 2014 in part due to a defacement of its website. Ultimately, the army no longer existed by early 2014.

Light Troops vs. Fire Warriors – May 2013

March 31, 2014

Following months of inactivity, CPAC announced that Elmikey and Lord Pain planned to revive FW. Given their controversial natures, these plans held immense significance for the community. However, the CPAC staff quickly revealed the occurrence was part of an elaborate April Fools joke. If readers pressed the continue reading button, Rick Astley’s Never Gonna Give You Up appeared on their screens. The use of Rickrolls became a major internet meme following the song’s success in 1987. Subsequently, millions of people opted to use the song to prank their friends with fake news announcements. Despite no revival of FW, CPAC demonstrated the lengths it went to to pull one over on their readers. Finally, the joke fit as Fire Warriors’ numerous generations left a mark on the community. In short, CPAC utilized the community’s interest in FW to manipulate the community.

Conclusion

Firstly, the transfer of Mammoth marked a major change in the community as ACP had not owned the server in over a year. Furthermore, it illustrated the conflict between LT and ACP as a peaceful exchange of the server only came after the army’s closure. Had LT been alive, such a diplomatic solution was not possible given the tensions between the two. Additionally, ACP’s fall in size over the years made a war with LT not the best idea. Regardless, their ownership became temporary as Silver Surfers gained the server by July 2015. Moving on, CPAC’s April Fools joke with FW showed how the organization sometimes had a less serious approach. However, FW returned for real in August 2014 under the leadership of Cassius Brutus, Stromae, and Sidie9. Thus, the joke did have some truth to it in the end. Finally, CPAC’s use of FW represented the influence the army had over the community. Overall, March 2014 was a very exciting period for the army community.
