2025 is finally here, but it is not quite time for us to leave 2024 behind just yet. In this post, we will be taking a look back at the top five moments of December 2024.

December 2024 has come and gone and we have welcomed 2025 with great expectations. Yet, while we all look towards the future while making our New Year resolutions, it is time for us to stop and look back at some of the top moments of December. From major tournament moments to shocking departures, December proved to be yet another memorable one. With that being said, let us get into the top five moments of December 2024.
5. An Elite Opportunity: Edu Promoted to Executive Producer
In December, something that at the start of the year would have seemed impossible happened. The Elite Guardians creator Edu14463 was promoted to Executive Producer on December 23. For Edu and the Guardians, the year started with much drama and great controversy. Yet, he did not let any of this stop him on his ascension within Club Penguin Armies. In fact, it seemingly made him even more hungry to prove everyone wrong.
Throughout his time in CPA, Edu has provided great help to departments such as the Top Ten Committee and the Community Committee. Yet, his most notable impact has undoubtedly been within the media where has served in multiple editing roles, working his way up to Editor In Chief on September 2, 2024. From tireless dedication to media to his creativity and willingness to find and create new content, Edu has consistently been an essential part of CPA’s media division. His promotion sees CPA enter in a new age where three administrators, once again, reign at the top.

4. Legends Induction Information and Community Nominees Announced
Every year, December brings much anticipation as leaders and community members await the announcement for Army Legend nominations and results. December 2024 was no different. On December 15, DMT released a post summarizing what has happened in the Legends Town Hall, revealing the results of votes which have happened behind the scenes as well as the opening of the community nominees vote.
While the votes from the Town Hall does not indicate whether something will or will not happen, they indicate Legends’ opinions on the topics. Legends made their thoughts clear indicating that revotes should not happen, the reclassification of Legends should be allowed and more. Perhaps the most interesting vote was on mid-year Legends votes, voting on previous nominees/never-nominated individuals. Yet nothing is confirmed.
However, what was shortly confirmed was the results of the community nominees and the official nominations for Army Legends 2024. The winners of the community nominees results saw Link3000 and Gabgeirl, Rebel Penguin Federation commanders, gain their place as the two major nominations from the community. The person with the most votes, however, was Scars who currently leads the People’s Imperial Confederation.

Overall, there were 19 people in the running to become 2024 Major or SM Legend. With that being said, it was all to play for as people will anxiously awaited the results.
3. Club Penguin Armies Hosts Winter Soirée
Every year, Club Penguin Armies hosts a Winter Gala to celebrate the end of an exciting year and to unite the community in holiday festivities. December 2024 saw a continuation of this tradition as, on December 25, it was revealed that CPA would be hosting a ‘Winter Soirée‘. The announcement of the Soirée also saw the nominations for the annual winter awards get revealed with numerous armies and individuals being nominated.
Following the announcement, the Soirée was hosted on December 28 with multiple festivities being held such as a fashion contest and the conclusion of the Frosty Scavenger Hunt among other activities. These activities brought people from all over the community to participate in the festivities, presenting many award winners. Outside of these events, the Winter Awards saw even more people get recognized for their contributions to the community from Best Major Army Leader to Best Writer.
Unlike 2023’s awards, 2024’s awards saw a multitude of individuals from all over the community win much-earned awards. Yet they provide a great outlook on the winter of 2024, showing who had a big impact throughout the winter. With 2024 behind us, we eagerly anticipate the 2025 awards and wonder if these individuals will maintain their momentum.

2. An Ugly Parting: Ugly Departs From Army of Club Penguin Leadership
On December 21, the Army of Club Penguin entered a new era as it waved goodbye to one of its leaders, Ugly. Ugly’s journey as a leader in the army first began on February 2, 2024. His ascension to leader sent shockwaves throughout the community as, soon after his induction, he headed the army alone, fighting for each and every opportunity presented to him. In his retirement post Ugly admitted to having a “rocky start” to life as a leader, leading through tournaments and wars right off the bat. Yet, he took each challenge in his stride and learned a great deal along the way.
Ugly went on to induct Roxy into the army’s leadership, who now succeeds him as ACP’s sole-leader, and continued to aim for greatness. One of the most memorable moments of his tenure was the war against the Elite Guardians where over 100 invasions/defences were held. Ultimately, ACP came out on top, besting the Elite Guardians, allowing the army and Ugly to gain great momentum. Arguably, this win boosted their confidence as they went on to win Project Conquest: Blood Bowl.
His time in ACP also saw him break a multitude of records within the army, including CPAB max records (for the army), and hosting the most amount of events in one month (in ACP). Ugly also achieved the prestigious Silver Medal Award within ACP. This was due to his tremendous efforts during the 100-battle war and leading ACP to victory. Undoubtedly, Ugly can leave ACP with his head held high having made history within the army.

1. Christmas Chaos Concludes; Rebel Penguin Federation Reign Victorious
After many gruelling battles, the Christmas Chaos tournament concluded on December 21 following the Grand Finals between Doritos of Club Penguin and Rebel Penguin Federation. Having faced major competitors including ACP and Help Force, DCP went into the Finals, arguably, with the most momentum. Yet, they faced a different beast in the tournament winning machine that is RPF. The Rebels are known for their battle skills and the rigorous training their troops undergo. They operate like a well-oiled machine, but were still aiming for their first major tournament win of the year.
The battle was fierce, but the Rebels entered with a significant size advantage that grew as it progressed. Using their speed, size, and tactical skill, the Rebels pushed DCP to the limits. They swept all three rooms and ultimately earned the Christmas Chaos XIV trophy. RPF once again showed their strength, continuing to make history and proving they should never be underestimated.
