After a remarkable journey as the leader of the Army of Club Penguin, Ugly has formally announced his retirement. This symbolizes the end of an era for ACP with the departure of Ugly, as he prepares for a new chapter in his illustrious history.
ARMY HISTORY
Ugly‘s experience in armies began in early 2020 when BestPenguin recruited him to the Aliens. He eventually joined Tree Cult, where he quickly rose to a high command position alongside individuals such as Qwerty and Travis. Ugly’s influence in Tree Cult propelled him to leadership rank by April 2020, but the army began to experience internal problems, and Tree Cult was eventually shut down in October 2020. After Tree Cult’s dissolution, Ugly helped rebuild the army, but despite some early triumphs, it eventually shut down due to ongoing internal strife.
In late 2020, Ugly joined the Dark Champions, advancing to third in command. However, after experiencing activity concerns, the army united with the Elites. Ugly’s next big move in the army community came in 2021 when he joined the Fire Warriors as Second-in-Command. Under his direction, the Fire Warriors won the Challengers Cup 2, their first tournament success. Despite his accomplishments, Ugly briefly left the Fire Warriors due to internal tensions among the leadership.
After leaving Fire Warriors, Ugly briefly returned to the scene in early 2022, joining the Secret Service as a Leader-in-Training. He quickly advanced through the ranks, eventually becoming a leader. However, the Secret Service finally shut down, resulting in another leave for Ugly. He rejoined the army community in June 2023, joining the Army of Club Penguin. Ugly quickly rose through the ranks, becoming Major General by mid-July and finally ascending to Commander-in-Chief in January 2024. As Commander-in-Chief of ACP, Ugly led the army through various challenges, including wars against the Water Vikings and the taxing Elite Guardians. His leadership helped ACP win several significant tournaments and fights, including the Project Conquest: Blood Bowl tournament this year.
ACHIEVEMENTS
Throughout his career, Ugly has received various accolades and honors. In the Tree Cult, he became a legend in 2021 for his contributions to the army’s expansion. During his time with the Fire Warriors, he achieved Icon Status, won Challengers Cup II, received the New Year Bonanza award, and was named Best S/M Army HCOM at the 2021 Summer Awards. These prizes recognized his strategic brilliance and leadership in the S/M army community. Ugly also got honors, including the Champion and Warrior honors, for his contributions.
With ACP, Ugly’s accomplishments grew. He along with Roxy received the Silver Medal Award from an Army Legend CSY for his leadership throughout the taxing 104-battle war against the Elite Guardians and helped the army win competitions such as the Blood Bowl. He also earned personal recognition, receiving honors such as Best HCOM ACP 2023, the Outstanding Member Award in the 2023 Winter Awards, and Most Achieved in the Summer Awards 2024. Other notable achievements include being named Best Major Army Leader and gaining praise for his tactical excellence and reporting abilities. These successes cemented Ugly’s status as a versatile and influential person in the Club Penguin army community.

Club Penguin Armies reached out to Ugly to engage in his last precious times in ACP.
Looking back at your journey in ACP, what moments stand out as the most memorable?
Def the EGCP war, it was a very monumental and historical war for us that ultimately flipped everything around for the army and I’m glad I was a huge part of it.
How has ACP shaped your growth, both personally and within the army community?
I’ve learned a lot of things throughout my time in ACP, one of which is not to change who you are for whatever purpose and to continue being yourself and not gaf.
What advice would you give to the current and future members of ACP as they continue on without you?
Continue doing great, don’t let anyone bring you down, and let your ideas and creativity run wild and don’t limit yourself.
What will you miss most about being part of ACP and the army community?
The community itself. I wouldn’t have made it this far without the ACP’s community resilience and dedication. I’ve had one hell of a ride this past year and a lot of great times and thanks to everyone in the community it made it all worth it.
An individual like Ugly only comes around once in a blue moon. His excellent efforts, steadfast dedication, and extravagant competence have propelled ACP through 2024 and left a lasting impression.
