In a surprising move, Mocha, the Templars’ first-in-command, has shockingly stepped down from her leadership position. This unexpected change prompted us to look at what led to this, and how this may affect the the Templars.
Mocha has been active in the army scene since late December 2022, when the Dark Vikings initially recruited her. She was quick to climb the ranks, eventually attaining a higher command position during 2023. However, this position did not last, as on October 14, 2023, Mocha joined the Penguins of Madagascar. Three months later, Mocha additionally enlisted in the Templars as a leader-in-training. This dual enlistment allowed her to offer help to the Knights in the ongoing Christmas Crusade war; after that, she departed from POM.
Finally, on April 7, 2024, the Templars promoted her to Grand prior for a six-month tenure. During this reign, she defeated the Water Vikings in the Sluttpådawn War. Additionally, she eventually achieved TCP Legend status on September 30.
This past Saturday, Mocha astounded the community and departed from the Templars. In a surprising move, she officially stepped down from her position as Grand Prior on October 19. Apparently, no formal announcement was made in the server.
Club Penguin Armies was able to secure an exclusive interview with Mocha, shedding light on the motive behind her recent actions.
Many community members are shocked by your departure, especially considering the ongoing tournament; What motivated your decision to step down from your role as Grand Prior of the Templars?
A lot of things led to my retirement. I won’t get in to detail about but I enjoyed leading for the time that I did with my LiTs Caracal, Mark (when he was in Templars), Maguro, and Billy. Especially my co-leader Echo. I wish them good luck with the army <3
How has your most recent experience with the Templars shaped your journey in the army community?
Being Grand Prior in Templars taught me a lot. It taught me how to lead better, patience, Friendships, hard work. I know that without any of these things I wouldn’t be where I am now.
What do you have planned next for yourself?
Live life <3
Club Penguin Armies also reached out to Echo to find out more about how he reacted to this retirement, and how he thinks this will affect the army.
The most important question, which many are curious about: were you aware that Mocha planned to leave Templars? Was it a surprise?
I was aware. Mocha told me herself and for a while she’s expressed wanting to step down from a leadership position due to mostly personal problems. It was not really a surprise.
How do you think her absence will affect Templars? Will you have difficulty recovering, or will it not make much of a difference?
Her absence will probably affect TCP mostly on the leadership side. Although many don’t see it but she truly helped me a ton to grow as a leader and everything I was missing she’d fill in for.
Something that most are dying to know: what exactly led to this retirement. Why did she choose now to leave the army?
Honestly I am not 100% sure. I know some of it had to do with personal issues that mocha had (which I do not think I should disclose), and another bit is probably going to be the issues templars has. It all mostly stems from when Sidie left Templars, which in turn the responsibility fell on me and Mocha. Templars. Regardless of the penguin size, is a large army and a heavy weight to carry. One that to many is a lot to handle. I think mocha put up with a lot for as long as she could and enough for me to get a grip of the army to continue marching forward.
What would you say are her greatest personal achievements in the army?
Her greatest achievement has to def be preventing the collapse of Templars Mocha helped me go from maxes of 10-15 to maxes of now 15-25. She has been one of those leaders that perhaps they aren’t an event leader per se but still had a crucial role in how templars ran in terms of management. The way she would help me manage the army I think played a crucial role in preventing the collapse of the army
Is there anything you would like to add?
It doesn’t matter where mocha goes, and what army she joins. To me she will always be one of the best leaders I’ve ever worked with. She is forever going to be one of my best friends.
Mocha’s unexpected departure from the Templars jolted the community. However, when reflecting on her time in the army, she was grateful for the experience. She emphasized her friendships and the skills she learned along the way. Echo follows suit, saying that his friendship with Mocha supersedes what army she is in. He additionally praises her work in the Templars and her skills in leading.
As she moves on from this part of her army career, we at Club Penguin Armies wish her the best in her future endeavors! What do you think? Will Mocha ever return to the Templars? How will this affect the army?
