Legends Cup XIV: Bracketology’s Most Predicted

Every time a major tournament occurs in the army community, the Community Committee presents us with Bracketology. Without a doubt, this has become a tradition within the organization. Today, we will look closely at which army was this season’s most predicted to win.

Bracketology was first introduced to the penguin community by army legend DMT and follows the extremely popular March Madness bracket for men’s basketball tournament. However, instead of predicting the final score in basketball community members will predict the outcome of each battle room in a win, loss, tie format (W-L-T).

The brackets start with the Qualifier round and go all the way to the Grand Finals where community members predict the tournament’s overall winner. In the last edition, the community saw Editor in Chief Mare win a custom role after garnering the most points for March Madness IX Bracketology.

Of course, for this year’s Legends Cup XIV, things could not be any different. Another edition of Bracketology is being hosted by Club Penguin Armies Community Committee. However, it appears that the brackets are not going well. Nobody was able to predict that the current Grand Finals would end up being between Help Force and Rebel Penguin Federation. Help Force particularly were not on the radars of the community, who have undeniably performed the best.

In fact, out of all of the participants, Elite Guardians received the most submissions as winning the tournament. Eight people predicted they’d win the tournament. Looking back, this actually was not that poor of a prediction. Going into the tournament, Elite Guardians were the number one seed army. However, they would fall to the Templars who have went on a spectacular winning streak in the Loser’s Bracket.

Last update of the current Bracketology

Club Penguin Armies interviewed Mare on what makes a successful bracket.

What’s the secret to winning Bracketology?

I usually review all the past Top Tens to estimate which army has the largest size. This can be challenging because some armies have a larger veteran return. Therefore, I also consider past tournaments and how armies performed during those events.

I also look at Club Penguin Army Judges to see armies’ previous practice battles and analyze their summaries. Size isn’t the only important factor; performance is equally crucial. Armies can have a large size but suffer from inactive troops during battles, leading to incomplete formations.

Additionally, during tournaments, new recruits who aren’t familiar with armies can impact some armies making them look delayed when bombing, getting into forms, sending tactics. Armies typically have [variety of] events before the tournament, providing an indication of their current status.

Based on your expert opinion, who is for sure LOSING Bracketology?

Me since I had removed my bracket since I already won the last tournament.

What’s the best perk about being the Bracketology Champion?

The best perk is having my own color!

Indeed she is right, you will get major bragging rights for winning Bracketology by getting your own custom role. As of right now, it may be Ugly who walks away with the win. Who will be able to predict the intense Grand Finals battle and walk away as the Bracketology Champion?
