Last Saturday we witnessed the third round of the Legends Cup XIV take place. These matches decided who proceeded to the next round. Let us take a look at who came out on top.
Legends Cup XIV round three is finished, and we have our finalists. Four armies participated in round three, battling valiantly for the right to proceed to the next round, but only two came out on top. Our participants were the Army of Club Penguin in their fight against Templars, and the Rebel Penguin Federation in their battle against the Help Force. Considering previous predictions, the results for round three might be surprising, so let us go over it.
Army of Club Penguin vs. Templars
Starting in the Stadium, room one saw the largest size advantage for the Templars yet they failed to use it efficiently, bunching often and struggling to disperse their size effectively. TCP’s size advantage dwindled further into the room, dropping from 9 penguins to three to five, much to the advantage of ACP. Room 2 was a win for TCP, taking place in Iceberg. ACP started the room off well as TCP formed a less than adequate X formation. TCP performed at an average level, winning due to ACP’s poor tactic choices.
Ending in Docks, Templars won again. Although ACP held a size advantage in the beginning, their AFKs and poor Troop:Tactic ratio were their downfall. TCP chose to use traditionally good Docks forms while ACP experimented with forms such as an X, causing them to appear smaller. The results are 2-0-1 in favor of the Templars, allowing them to move on to the Losers Finals.
Winner – Templars
Help Force vs. Rebel Penguin Federation
Help Force entered room one first, making an X, with RPF circling the Iceberg. Sizes were 42-34 in Help Force’s favor and their forms were relatively neat. RPF slowed down further into the room but managed to get decent coverage on HF’s triangle form. Both armies took turns covering each other and the room ended in a tie. The same pattern of an unclear dominating army was followed in the next rooms, with all of them ending in ties. Judges, then, declared overtime.
The Rebels enter the overtime room first and quickly form a V with HF following suit. Sizes are 40 HF and 27 RPF and HF is more noticeable. RPF moved and surrounded the Stadium while HF made an X. The right side of RPF’s circle seemed to disintegrate as multiple gaps formed further in. Both armies are stated to have had a good balance of emotes to words while they both moved into new forms. Both armies took each other’s previous forms, but RPF did not stay still for long, swiftly switching to a Z. HF moves into an anchor form, covering RPF. This room ended in a win for the Help Force with judges witnessing them dominate and show their size, speed, and neater forms. The round results are 1-0-3 in favor of HF, and they move on to the Winner’s Finals
Winner – Help Force
With two new armies moving up, and two new armies dropping, this has been an eventful round! The results were surprising, considering earlier predictions, but what do YOU think? Did this battle turn out how you expected? Or did the results disappoint you?
