April has so far been one of the busiest months this year. With so much happening, our staff team has made it a point to keep up with the same and do their work assiduously. As another month comes to an end, we wish to take the time to look back and acknowledge the person who has made a significant impact during it. It is officially time to announce the Media Member of the Month for April.
Joining our team of Graphic Designers in August, last year, Cassie has contributed immensely to our organization, producing some incredible thumbnails for posts. Last month, especially, she has been the most active out of all, coming up with a total of eight works under her name and style. As Coolguy rightly pointed out in his editorial, Designers are often overlooked in this community, with their work being hardly appreciated. However, their contribution and dedication to their skill need to be acknowledged, given the time, effort, and work that they put into each of their graphics.
It has not even been a whole year since Cassie started practicing digital art, and she has already shown so much proficiency in it. Her growth and evolution as an Artist and Designer is something that is truly inspiring and stands testimony to the fact that if we put our mind to something, we can definitely achieve it. Throughout her time at Club Penguin Armies, she has ensured to do her utmost and has always been punctual and prompt with her work. It is her enthusiasm and eagerness to help however she can, that we would like to express our gratitude towards and recognize as we move forward.
Having already established a foundation of Media Member of the Month, branching out from solely rewarding Reporters for their contribution – it was a unanimous decision to feature Cassie as our first recipient for this, given how hard she has worked in April, creating some lovely thumbnails to be featured in our posts. There is no doubt that she is absolutely deserving of this acclaim, and on this occasion, we would like to thank her for all that she does for this League. Please join us in congratulating her!
We also had the opportunity to talk to Cassie and hear her thoughts on becoming the Media Member of the Month for the month of April.
Why did you want to become a Designer?
I started doing digital art in august of last year and took this position in order to challenge myself, as well as improve in my art.
Is there anything or anyone that inspired you to take up this occupation?
Honestly before joining the team I wasn’t very up to date with what was going on in the community. Didn’t know anyone on the team either, in fact I think it was my boyfriend that suggested I join the team.
What would you say has been your favorite part of the job so far?
Every blue moon a really interesting thumbnail request comes up that just really inspires me. Then I fall down the rabbit hole of scouring the internet for the right backgrounds and poses I need. (I’ve got several tabs permanently open for thumbnail use)
Which of your work(s) are you the most proud of?
My two favourites were requests for community events (insert images lol)
For someone who aspires to become a Designer or is just starting out as one, what are some suggestions and advice that you would like to impart to them?
Don’t be scared to ask questions. Starting out I was very overwhelmed and dealt with a drastic learning curve, which could’ve been made a lot easier if I had just reached out more.
What are your future goals in this position?
I’m pretty comfy where I am now, but if the opportunity arrives in the future to contribute more then I’m open to it
Being a Designer is certainly not as easy as it seems, and sometimes can prove to be an overwhelming task. It is one work of life that not only fosters creativity but requires patience and composure. We are extremely grateful to Cassie and our Graphic Design team for their phenomenal work, and thank them for being with us, in this journey.
