After many successes and achievements, the Army of Club Penguin witnesses the induction of a new leader. Many accomplishments were achieved under the previous leadership, setting a high standard for them to surpass.
In an announcement delivered on the 2nd of February, the 50th Commander-in-Chief of the Army of Club Penguin, Coolguy, revealed new plans for the army’s future. Among these, was the appointment of Ugly as the new leader of the Clover army. In said declaration, Coolguy highlighted Ugly’s commitment to the army, who works tirelessly to improve it. On an optimistic note, he also mentioned his desire to keep working with him in a leadership duo.
Ugly is an army veteran who joined the army community in February 2020 as a member of Aliens. He is known for his many leadership stints in armies like the Fire Warriors, Tree Cult, Dark Champions, and Secret Service. Some of his greatest achievements came from winning the Challengers Cup II and the first iteration of New Year Bonanza as a FW commander. These accomplishments have made Ugly an important figure in the S/M army space.
Nonetheless, Ugly only enlisted in the Army of Club Penguin in June 2023. He went on to help the army win many tournaments so far. These tournaments included Legends Cup XIII, Trick or Treat Trials, and most recently the second edition of New Year Bonanza. Due to his efforts within the army, on January 6th, Ugly was promoted to Field Marshal (second-in-command). Moreover, it is noteworthy that he was able to attain a leadership position in less than a month after his last promotion.
Club Penguin Armies sat down with Ugly to discuss his plans for the army as their new leader.
How do you feel about being inducted as the 51st ACP commander?
It feels great. As I explained in my introduction post, I’m honored and thankful I get to lead the greatest army this community ever had.
What are your plans for the army?
I have a lot of plans, long-term and short-term. Of course, I wouldn’t say all of them here, but I mainly want to focus on enhancing the community and the troop experience, as well as make a full-scale reform of the staff system.
Will ACP continue to thrive under your leadership?
I have huge trust in me and my friend Coolguy that we will continue the legacy of the Army of Club Penguin. Of course, my presence and change won’t be felt instantly especially at this time of the year obviously, but it will be in the long run.
What should the community expect from ACP under your leadership?
Like I said I’m all about everyone having fun and enjoying being either an ACP member or staff. In terms of community, people can expect fresh new quality ideas that will be super interesting, for example the recently announced Ally Ambush. In terms of staff, I’d like to have a more organized system and a more assembled hierarchy, to have everyone specialize on each branch.
How was your relationship dynamic between current and former ACP leaders?
Absolutely amazing. As I explained in my post, the triumvirate of Calgo Austin and Coolguy played a really huge role in helping me achieve this role, and even after some of them retired they were still around to assist as much as possible and get me 100% ready to be Commander-in-Chief.
How will your current leadership be different from previous leadership in other armies?
I learned a lot throughout the past leaderships during 2023, and I will try my best to focus more on the internal side rather than the external side if that makes sense. My plans are mainly to change a lot of aspects in the staff team and to improve the community with creative ideas, the rest will remain a mystery for the time being .
It seems that Ugly has great plans for the future of his army. Nevertheless, he still has big shoes to fill after the many victories achieved by the leaders that came before him. Will Ugly help ACP win another tournament? Will he become a future army legend?
