The Dark Warriors were established on October 16, 2007, by Ambrosha; later that year, they subsequently merged with the Ice Warriors. Throughout its history, the army has undergone progressive development, culminating in victory in Christmas Chaos II. Their most successful year was 2014, when they won both the Champions Cup III and Christmas Chaos IV tournaments.

On May 23, 2025, Ambrosha granted permission for a revival by Holo2, Subzero, and Coolguy. Through continuous hard work, they added Justin, Midnight, and Salah to the leadership team and won the Summer Blitz Tournament 2025. The Void Troops waged war against them on September 2, titled the Dark Massacre War. However, DW no-showed in all battles, resulting in an indirect surrender. They assisted VT against the Templars. Alongside the Romans, they helped VT secure a victory over TCP in the Second Divine Reckoning War. Recently, they reached the finals of the Small/Medium bracket at the Christmas Chaos XV Grand Finals, but they ultimately lost to TCP. Recently, the army has forged new friendships, allying with the Templars and the Aliens.

Dark Warriors Ascend to Major
On March 1st, DW was formally recognized as a major army after Chief Executive Producer JojoTeri issued an official announcement.

Announcement made by CEP JojoTeri
Club Penguin Armies contacted DW leaders Salah and Coolguy for an exclusive interview.
What are your thoughts regarding attaining the rank of Major?
Salah: Attaining the rank of Major is an incredible achievement for any army in the Club Penguin Army community. Looking at our journey since the revival, the progress we’ve made over the past few months has been very encouraging. In particular, the momentum we’ve built since Christmas Chaos has been great to see. It shows the strength of our community and the dedication of everyone involved. Moving forward, our goal is to keep building on that momentum with each tournament and event, continuing to grow stronger and ultimately aiming for the number one spot.
Coolguy: Honestly, DW has been working daily to improve on everything – While maxes and trainings are important, what has been crucial to this rise is the building of a team that can take DW to the top. We haven’t just looked at DW at its face value but looked through that to it’s very core, finding ways to improve in each and every aspect whether it be staff structure, internal workings e.g. responsibilities, better ways to organise things like getting in new troops (not just “recruits” but helping each individual to start their journey) etc etc. So it’s been a big process and I was glad to see that the hard work had paid off for everyone who had put in that work.
What factors contributed most to your decision to pursue a major?
Salah: One of the biggest factors behind our decision to pursue Major status is the strength of our community. We are fortunate to have many experienced veterans who are well known in the community, and their presence has helped build a very competitive and driven environment within our army. That competitive spirit really pushed us to see how far we could go, especially after we began winning several small and medium army tournaments. Those victories helped build confidence and momentum for us as an army. Moving forward, that same drive will continue motivating us to improve, compete at a higher level, and hopefully add major tournament victories to the collection of achievements we’ve already built.
Coolguy: Historically, the Dark Warriors are a major army. Even before it’s revival, myself, Subs and Holo knew that it had to be our aim – to reach major and stay there. We didn’t want to be in a position where we just push for it and then immediately lose it. We wanted to make sure DW was in a good position to not only be a major army but to maintain that status. We wanted to make sure that we have the best structure for all the staff and everyone else involved.
Following your recent promotion to major, do you have any significant plans moving forward?
Salah: One of our main plans now that we have become a Major army is to continue growing while maintaining the strong sense of community that brought us here. We definitely want to become more competitive and aim for higher placements within the rankings, but at the same time we want to preserve the fun, enjoyment, and interaction within our community.
Coolguy: We’ll see what happens in the future. For now, the plan remains the same, to keep working on ourselves, to keep improving, growing and striving for more. Just because we are now major, doesn’t mean we get to slack off. If there’s anything we can improve upon, and trust me there are, then it needs to be done. Nothing can be disregarded.
What are your expectations regarding DWs in the future?
Salah: I would say my expectations are to continue building on the momentum we currently have. As we move forward, I hope to see us become more organized and more complete as an army, while also continuing to evolve as a community. That kind of growth takes time and a lot of collective effort, but I believe we are on the right path. As the team continues to grow and develop, my expectation is that we will keep improving and becoming stronger with time.
Coolguy: Well, as I suggested above, there’s always things armies can improve on and that’s not just a suggestion for me. I expect things that need improving to be improved. I also expect DW to keep rising and keep building on what we have because settling is never good. I want to see DW battling at the top of the Top Tens or in the finals of tournaments like the Legends Cup. To do that, all we can do is keep running, keep working and keep striving to be better.
Undoubtedly, the rise of the Dark Warriors was anticipated. Given their relentless expansion and vitality, they have yet to reach their full potential. Consequently, many questions arise. As the army continues to grow, what future do they envisage? How will they perform in the upcoming March Madness tournament?
