What If: Black Ice Alliance Still Existed

Much of the army community hates alliances with multiple major armies. That is quite understandable, due to their dominance in the community. One such alliance in recent times is the Black Ice Alliance, made up of the Ice Warriors, Rebel Penguin Federation, and Dark Warriors at their peak. We dive into what would occur if the Black Ice Alliance still existed.

History of Black Ice Alliance

The Black Ice Alliance was initially formed in the summer of 2020. This occurred when the Dark WarriorsIce Warriors, and Rebel Penguin Federation all declared war on the Doritos. At the time, all four armies were giants, with DW, IW, and DCP coming from Club Penguin Online and RPF coming from Club Penguin Rewritten. Because all armies in BIA declared their invasions simultaneously, DCP only showed up in one battle. At the same time, Doritos had its own alliance, the New Dawn Alliance. This alliance, at the time, included the Army of Club Penguinthe Lime Green Army, the Pizza Federationthe Templars, and the Elites. However, due to allegations from the armies in BIA, many NDA members withdrew, while kicking out the Templars before the action.

BIA easily defeated the Doritos and took their capital one day after the official announcement of the alliance. Their spirits soared high, despite another war between the Dark Warriors and Water Vikings in late 2020. After this war, Dark Warriors closed, but the alliance between IW and RPF stayed strong. Even after Club Penguin Army Hub shut down, the alliance stayed strong. This led to a BIA-Templar war in 2021, which, while declared separately by the armies, caused some controversy. This followed a Club Penguin Army Network rule against two coinciding invasions against the same army. Both armies also specified a war rule stating no external help.

Reactions from the Community

At least part of the community soured on the alliance at the time, despite the individual armies keeping the alliance steady. After all, no army could realistically challenge the alliance alone. Additionally, a lot of the community stayed allies with them, making it difficult to stick the entire community against them. This led to an eventual acceptance of the alliance and a bit of a meme due to the unyielding size.

To now consider the what-if question for BIA’s continued existence, we must first address some conditions. The most obvious one is that IW would still need to be an army. What if that controversy never occurred, and everything had been alright between the two allies? Perhaps, we shall begin this scenario around February 2023.

What If: BIA Still Existed?

The alliance, had the controversy never happened, would’ve grown even stronger. New leaders would come in on both sides, making it a moot point. As a result, the alliance would grow with the original leaders no longer around. With respect to the wider army community, however, 2023 would go quite differently. Firstly, World War IX occurred shortly after IW shut down, and BIA’s existence would’ve allowed the war to last longer. While every major army participated, the Blue Sunset Alliance would have more wins, and they would be more energized, too. Eventually, the war likely end the same way, but with a higher war score for the BSA.

However, post-war, as the army community progresses, a lot of the community eventually unites. This is due to their realization that BIA is still alive even after four years. As explained in an opinion piece from 2023, much of the army community dislikes the established order for too long. Another declaration of war occurs, from either the Templars, the Army of Club Penguin, or Help Force. Realistically, this would break out closer into September. The community would’ve gone through the Legends Cup and small wars and landed in a stale spot. This war is joined by multiple small-medium armies, and BIA still stands strong, even with a September drop. Presumably, BIA would narrowly eke out a win with some support from WV and/or Elite Guardians of Club Penguin, keeping the alliance alive.

BIA in 2024 And 2025

Not much different happens throughout 2024, with a similar cycle continuing to build. However, the revival of DCP changes things. BIA wouldn’t be necessarily against DCP from the start, despite the alliance founded upon their dislike of the army. Importantly, BIA disliked part of the leadership of the 2020 DCP; some of the same leadership helped with the revival, or stuck around. Because of how important these veterans are to DCP, the peace wouldnt last too long.

Within a few weeks, the community would imagine a war breaking out, either declared by DCP or BIA against the other. This starts small between BIA and DCP, but other armies join the war in World War X. While it may start somewhat light-hearted, this war would grow intense due to later issues within DCP. Cracks would show in both BIA and DCP, but BIA would stick together and dominate this world war. It helps BIA a lot during this war that their previous leaders hover around and keep good connections with most major armies. For example, DrQueen, an IW Mythic and WV Viking Luminary, would definitely help keep some goodwill between the two armies.

The End of the Alliance?

Cracks may appear in BIA, however, after the controversy in RPF in 2025. It doesn’t lead to an immediate breakup, but none of RPF’s other allies showed up to the war in reality. With The White Order declaring war on RPF in September 2025, IW would certainly distance itself slightly from the alliance, and DW, even if it rejoined BIA after it came back, would not stick around. However, after RPF explains the handling of the documents that came out during the mess, IW still sticks to RPF’s point of view and stays. However, the cracks exist now, and they aren’t easily fixed. Over time, the alliance would be less influential, despite a possible anniversary in 2026 for six years.

It is foreseeable that BIA would breaking apart completely in this scenario, however, is if there is another controversy from RPF or a major controversy from IW. The armies had too much of a bond even by 2023 to let this go that easily, and the controversy, unrelated to the leadership of either army, wouldn’t sink it. In short, the alliance continues to dominate the army community in wars, tournaments, and regular battles.

Presumably much of the community is happy now that BIA is gone, but this is not the end of such alliances. We could easily see a similar alliance again with the ACP, WV, and RPF. This is especially since it is claimed that RPF helped both armies in the ACP – Scarlet Republic war.

Club Penguin Armies asked Julia, a leader in the 2020 Dark Warriors, and Crazzy from the 2020 Rebel Penguin Federation for their opinions on what would happen if BIA still existed.

Julia, Dark Warriors: This is difficult. BIA was perfect for the time it was made. I understand that for some, that’s a controversial take. If BIA existed today, I don’t doubt it would’ve remained a strong alliance. IW and DW were and probably still would be a brother alliance, with the addition with RPF, at this point, with this many years, I’m sure we’d be well on our way to a brother alliance with RPF as well. But I think we would’ve dominated the Top 10. IW, DW, and RPF would be the top 3 armies likely, and I don’t think CPA would be much fun 😅 we wouldn’t have anything to fight for anymore

Crazzy, Rebel Penguin Federation: Generally speaking, I think it would go one of two ways. One way could be that the alliance would break due to leadership changes and the overall flow of how our armies mesh together, creating some [needed] chaos to the community. Or alternatively, other major armies and even SMs would team up, similar to the NDA in the summer of 2020 (with DCP, ACP, etc.) to try and overpower the alliance, which would then lead to another World War. Overall, one can argue that 3 major armies teaming up dismantles the nature of the army community, while others can say it demonstrates the power and strength that these armies hold.

This is a fascinating scenario to predict the future from due to the alliance overseeing many armies’ behaviours for three years. Additionally, it’s interesting to note that members of the original BIA accept that this alliance could have made armies less fun by this point in time. It definitely stifled some alliances amongst major armies, and BIA’s breakup helped shake up the dynamics of the community. However, this alliance could simply be a template for others in the future. What do you think this scenario would lead to if BIA still existed? Would we see more armies join this alliance, or would the alliance always have an end prior to 2026?
