Top 5 Moments of January 2026

January was one of the most active months of the past few years. The month began with the Christmas Chaos XV Finals and the Person of the Year 2025 announcement and went on to include several wars, ending with Operation: Winterstorm.

Like it has been for the past few months, the Club Penguin Armies community came together and voted on their Top 5 Moments for January, via polls in the Discord server. There were more significant moments compared to the previous months, a total of 35, highlighting the community’s activity during January.

#5 – Legend Inductions 2025

Written by: Lucifer

On December 20th, 2025, the inductions began with the long-awaited nominees for the Legends category, following a thorough analysis by the Legends Committee and the community. In the nominations, many leaders were included from the Small/Medium armies division, Coolguy, Djgtjvgyhxgy, Echo, Ghostt, Kyle104, Logical, Moon and Thunder222. Moreover, the Major division included: Aisha, Bestpenguin, Daniel20448, Diwix, Gabgeirl, Roxy, SavageCobra, and Ugly. Undoubtedly, the reactions were quite varied, with some thinking these nominations were rather bland, while others approved of the nominees. Ultimately, on January 10th, DMT announced the results, crowning Coolguy and Logical to be the 2025 Legends. Surprisingly, there were no Major legends inducted this year.

#4 – Templars Declare Raid War on VT

Written by: Pranav

Prior to their defacement, the Templars declared war on the Void Troops. This reignited a rivalry that had shaped both armies throughout 2025. Their conflict originally began in August 2025, when Void Troops ended their alliance and launched the War of the Divine Reckoning. VT secured a decisive victory in a massive 15-0-1 war score. Tensions escalated again during the Second Divine Reckoning war, which involved each army’s allies as well. The war ended with Void Troops capturing the Templars’ capital, Jerusalem, and issuing a force treaty.

The Templars announced a renewed declaration of an off-map war on January 11, 2026. This was framed as a raid war to invade any VT events. The first day after the declaration, VT held a US event, which TCP later announced they had raided. The raid caused confusion amongst VT ranks during the Club Penguin Journey event, causing rogues to stray from the original purple. While VT eventually found a way around the struggle before Club Penguin Journey went down for maintenance, this was meant to be a sign for the future. That did not occur, however, as VT hosted fewer Club Penguin events and TCP wound down their raids. The war, with no treaty yet, is currently on a pause as of the VT shutdown.

#3 – CPA Hosts Operation: WinterStorm

Written by: Kath

For the New Year, Club Penguin Armies released a new map. In order to test the map, the organisation released a public beta test, in the form of a community tournament, Operation Winterstorm. Armies were put on the side, with the community members getting into four, non army based, color teams to fight each other. There were special items like boats, planes, bombs, and nukes, as well as special economy and tournament rules. Team Black, Team Red, Team Blue and Team Green passed seven days fighting each other for lands and resources. The tensions rose, with several battles taking over each day, during the week of the tournament, with a total of over forty invasions and more than 220 people participating. After a long journey, Team Green ended up being the winner of this Operation.

#2 – ACP declares war on SR

Written by: JojoTeri

On January 19, the Army of Club Penguin declared a war on the Scarlet Republic. In their post, they cited SR’s leader’s Ghostt, words against their army, as well as the leader’s Imvge attempts to gather ACP people to get them attend his army’s events. SR released a statement as soon as ACP’s declaration was issued. The war soon escalated much more, with the Aliens also joining it on SR’s side, promising to protect their ally. ACP was able to sweep the first battle winning all three rooms. A few hours later, the Water Vikings also joined the war. This made the war one of the largest the community had seen for a while. The following battle was even larger, with ACP reaching sizes of 60 and Aliens about 50. Regardless, ACP managed to win 2 rooms and tied one. At the same time, SR managed to invade ACP, which was busy with their battle against the Aliens.

The last battle of the war took place between ACP and the Aliens, with ACP managing to max even more and win all three rooms. A few hours after that, the Aliens, followed by SR, surrendered the war. In their surrender, they criticised WV’s declaration post, which they deemed very inappropriate. They stated that WV’s conducts were the reason they quit from the war. SR’s post was similar, but they also accused big armies of bullying smaller ones, and they boasted for their successful invasion of ACP’s land. The war’s force treaties are currently still in effect.

#1 – Templars get defaced

Written by: Mary

In late January 2026, things went crazy in the Templars’ Discord. Their former leader, Dawnables, who was temporarily given server owner permissions in the server, refused to return them to the army creator, Xing. She removed admin perms from high ranked members, started banning people, and hid the server channels, which basically damaged the server and forced everyone to leave. The army had to hold an emergency meeting and decided to start over with a brand new server. With help from allies and much internal effort, they rebuilt fast and got hundreds of members back. Even though losing the old server was a huge setback, they managed to bounce back.

With the first month of the year already over, we hope that the community activity will remain in February and March. We have already seen several wars, one of them being large scale this year so far. Will February end up having as many notable moments as January? Which events do you predict will be the most popular in February? Looking back in January, what were your favorite moments, and why?
