Water Vikings Declare War on Doritos – February 15, 2015
Background
By 2015, both Water Vikings and Doritos of Club Penguin had been around for many years. At the previous year’s end, DCP finished 7th with WV achieving 10th place on the Top Ten Armies of 2014 list. Additionally, the two armies participated in many notable wars. For instance, WV fought Underground Mafias Army in a conflict that ended with a force treaty. Simulteanously, WV’s website suffered a defacement in February 2014, which contributed to a decrease in sizes until a rebound six months later. Their comeback also coincided with Special Weapons and Tactics‘ declaration of war on the Vikings. Lastly, the year concluded with WV’s war against the Nachos, one of the top armies.

Next, DCP began their year with the conclusion of their war against WV and a quick war with Dark Warriors. In the meantime, Golds merged into DCP after some time as one of the latter’s closest allies. Consequently, DCP battled the Rebel Penguin Federation in a war as the two armies’ previous alliance evaporated. Their relationship was not helped by the appearance of Elmikey, a former RPF leader. However, his tenure in DCP quickly ended long as a coup d’etat was staged against him the next month. Finally, DCP shut down briefly before their return a month later.

War Declaration & Results
In early 2015, WV established itself as one of the biggest armies while DCP was still in a rebuilding stage after its return. Meanwhile, both armies accused each other of embellishing sizes to get more points on the Top Ten. Subsequently, DCP released posts attacking WV’s leadership, with WV not responding with posts in kind. After tensions grew further, WV declared war on DCP to determine which army was the best.
Not long after, the war kicked off with WV’s invasion of Summit. With close sizes, there was no clear victor as both armies claimed victory. Following the next several battles, Light Troops joined the war on the side of DCP, one of their closest allies. By the time of their assistance, WV was alleged to have achieved seven victories over the Chips. Despite their participation, the war came to an end with the start of March Madness III the next month.

Conclusion
From their conflict, it can be seen how wars often result from allegations of cheating. This is especially true in an era where multilogging became a more common occurrence. Therefore, the DCP-WV conflict was one of many wars where the parties involved sought to discredit one another for actions both had possibly committed. Lastly, the conflict displayed how well-connected armies used their connections to tilt the odds in their favor. Overall, the war showed off the strengths of both armies.
