Scarlet Republic Shatters Multiple Brother Alliances

On January 5th, 2026, the Scarlet Republic shattered brother alliances with the Elite Guardians and Penguins of Agartha. We explore why they pulled such a move and what the consequences of this decision mean for the army.

Background

The Scarlet Republic initially opened on January 4th, 2025, by Ghostt and Image, both from the Army of Club Penguin. Both founders are from the original Club Penguin era of armies, with years of hard-earned experience under their belts. In the interview in a Club Penguin Armies post detailing their opening, Ghostt mentioned the goal is to “form bonds and prioritise the well-being of troops.” They began their journey of alliances on February 6, 2025, with a short-lived alliance with the Special Weapons and Tactics. Unfortunately, the interests of both armies did not align, despite Imvge having wished to ally with them previously. As a result, they broke off the alliance and decided to ally with another small/medium army, the Dark Pirates of Club Penguin.

In March, they allied with the Elite Guardians of Club Penguin due to the EGCP leader, Lana, helping them start up. April didn’t carry anything different with a new alliance to the Penguins of Agartha, a one-week-old army. Next, they helped with the third generation of the International United Alliance, an alliance founded by the Aliens in 2019. The alliance’s main goal, from the beginning, is to help small/medium armies grow to achieve their full potential. The alliance consisted of SR, Aliens, PoA, and Smart Penguins. Throughout the summer, they allied once more with the Aliens in preparation for the Summer Blitz tournament. Unfortunately, they lost, yet still came in second place with 7 servers in this tournament with the help of the Aliens.

With the controversies of the Rebel Penguin Federation in September, the White Order formed in an effort to wage war on RPF. While the alliance lost, SR still showed a strong performance with other S/M armies. On October 28th, however, SR went on hiatus, citing a lack of activity.

Ghostt’s announcement of Scarlet Republic hiatus

Recent Events

The Scarlet Republic reformed, shortly after the hiatus began, on December 11, 2025. Since then, they rebuilt their alliance through the new year. However, suddenly on January 5th, they decided to end both alliances. From their announcement on Discord, they stressed that they do not have issues with either army. Instead, they felt that in their first generation, having fewer alliances was beneficial, especially with newer S/M armies. They are in the process of finding new alliances to replace the two they dropped.

Scarlet Republic ending both alliances

Club Penguin Armies reached out to Scarlet Republic leaders Ghostt and Riri, as well as EGCP leader Lana and Penguins of Agartha leader Berlim.

Is there a specific reason you broke the alliances aside from those listed in the announcement?

Ghostt: Honestly the main things were in the announcement but it was as simple as those allies and us not being able to coordinate our support as much as we felt we should have been as allies. As well as another reason being how we found so much success with less alliances in the past.

Riri: With EGCP going on hiatus, we thought it’d be best if we dropped the alliance for the time being as we would like to focus on growing our second generation right now. we also didn’t really feel that our armies’ levels of engagement and support were fully aligned anymore. overall, we just figured we work a lot better with fewer alliances and are very grateful to the two of them for all they’ve done for us in the past 💕

Would you be willing to ally with these armies again in the future, or is this purely a decision based on principles?

Ghostt: We would 100% be open to alliance them again. I am never opposed to undoing a decision if we feel something was handled wrong. But also there is a chance we will have some time as neutrals before re-establishing any further alliance. It all just depends on the timing and what we got going on internally.

Riri: I think if they were wanting to re-ally, we wouldn’t be opposed to the idea at all, they are, after all, still our friends and perhaps things will work out better in the future than they did before

What is your goal now, with the elimination of these alliances?

Ghostt: Our goal is to focus on growing and building up the army behind the scenes. Every month we have another big project going on and we just want to focus on these projects while also keeping an eye out for new armies, specifically s/ms that are looking for assistance with getting a team started.

Riri: we’re slowly trying to rebuild the army now that gen 2 has started, so hosting more events, recruiting more etc!

How do you plan to support the smaller armies as mentioned in the announcement?

Ghostt: We will attend their events and help their newer members learn by example while also giving the staff team and leaders advice based on our experience from our first generation. We will also try to find ways to interact with these allies for events.

Riri: I think if we see any potential in a growing army in the future and they were a good fit, we could definitely think about an alliance. as for now, we are simply trying to do our best with our remaining allies by attending their events whenever possible and giving advice to the leadership wherever we can

What is your reaction to the Scarlet Republic dropping the alliance?

Berlim: Sad but understandable

Lana: SR x EGCP remains good. We had already been talking about how our alliance was progressing. As one of SR creators, I obviously wanted to see my current army as their ally. But I believe that pauses are necessary to create more stable relationships!

We still loving and supporting them regardless we are allies or not, and we know they support us too. That’s all that matters.

Anything else to add?

Ghostt: I think that covers everything

Riri: Happy new year!

From the two leaders, we now understand that they wish to primarily focus on rebuilding the army over any alliances. Second, the hiatus of EGCP meant that the Scarlet Republic could drop the alliance without much harm to either army, and would happily re-ally in the future when they are larger. It is clear, from their involvement in IUA and the primary mission of the army, that SR does not harbor any feelings against any armies and wants to further the less experienced armies. How do you think the closure of alliances affects all three armies? Will the Scarlet Republic look to help smaller/newer armies like the Tsunamis of Club Penguin or the Crimson Sovereign?
