Light Troops Return
Creation of Light Troops & Early Success
After the Blue Miners Army closed, Ioioluk founded Light Troops in early 2011. Afterwards, LT became one of the biggest armies in the community. By 2012, the army had an intense rivalry with the Army of Club Penguin. Next, the rivalry began in part due to ACP’s dominance over several years. However, LT matched these sizes as it reached sizes of more than 50 penguins over a year after its opening. Their rise contributed to their number one placement on Club Penguin Army Central‘s Top Ten. Meanwhile, war broke out between ACP and LT multiple times throughout 2012. One of these wars ended abruptly after two defacements of LT’s site.

Major Conflicts & Instability
Consequently, LT surrendered the war and forced Roberto out of his leadership position. The unexpected end to the conflict eliminated the momentum gained from battles won over the Clover Defenders. Next, the second created questions about the army’s stability. In addition, these concerns were exacerbated by a drop in the size of LT. Furthermore, their struggles did not stop them from continuing their animosity towards the Clovers.

At the same time, they did not limit themselves to conflict with only ACP itself. For instance, LT also targeted the Army Republic because of the latter’s strong relationship with ACP. In July 2012, LT declared war on AR as part of a more heated relationship between the two. Not long after, LT joined the Black Alliance that fought against ACP in World Wars VI and VII. After a series of battles, the war concluded with a victory for ACP and its allies. Simultaneously, the Light Troops’ decline in size led to the army’s temporary shutdown and ultimate return.

New Generations
In January 2013, LT returned after being closed for less than a month. Soon after their return, they engaged in a conflict against the Golden Troops to defend the Pirates. Moreover, both armies had been members of the Black Alliance and formed a close relationship as they fought together. Thus, Pirates gave LT their servers after a declaration of war from GT. Following the latter’s defacement, GT blamed Pirates due to the defacer’s association with the army. This slight contributed to their decision to declare war as punishment. After several battles, the war concluded without a clear victor.
Following the conflict’s end, LT fought other armies such as Doritos of Club Penguin, Dark Warriors, Ice Warriors, and Hot Sauce Army. Eventually, the army closed again after Ioioluk deleted the army’s site. Two months later, the army reopened under the leadership of Spi101, SCargo2, and Waterkid101 on September 21, 2013. With the new leadership, they planned to potentially wage war on ACP as they carried on the enmity towards the army from the previous generation. As they promised, LT started their new generation with a declaration of war on ACP days later. Essentially, LT’s return continued some of the trends from past generations.

Conclusion
Throughout the years, LT experienced much success thanks to its participation in many conflicts. Additionally, the army set a precedent as one of the first armies to rival ACP in size. During its multiple generations, it stood out as one of the largest armies in the community. Finally, its conflicts with many armies allowed the army to have some of the most contentious relationships with other groups. Overall, LT was one of the most influential armies in Club Penguin Armies. What do YOU think of Light Troops’ return? What other armies have had similar histories? Are there any rivalries you can think of that are similar to the LT-ACP rivalry?
