The Romans of Club Penguin are a very historic army with a lot of success to show off. As one of the older armies within the community, being founded in October 2007, the Romans are a timeless empire in Club Penguin Armies. From their war with the Army of Club Penguin upon founding to the army’s reopening in July, the army has shown up in nearly every generation of the army community. With a plentiful history, the experience has been showing lately. Not only does the army sit nicely within the Top Ten, but the Romans have also managed to capture sizeable land at the Summer Blitz tournament. Although their momentum has been proving successful, a leader of the Romans feels it’s time to pass the torch.

The Romans of Club Penguin reopening event on June 8
After reopening and starting their conquest, a steady leadership drove the army’s uprising. Among those leaders was TD999, who provided a great burst of activity for the Romans upon promotion. His dedication to the army proved very helpful, with army legend, Dj, labeling him as the most motivated HCOM when he departed. Not only was he promoted to leader, but TD999 was also granted the position of co-owner within the army. It is apparent that TD999 has been an influential part of the Romans’ recent resurgence, and his resignation will surely make some people upset within the Romans community. Despite the sudden move, TD999 was very clear in his resignation announcement that new leadership and HCOM promotions would take place. While TD999 officially ends his chapter at Romans, a new one waits to start as someone new will take on the mantle.

TD999 announces his resignation
In an effort to learn more about TD999’s situation, Club Penguin Armies reached out to him for an exclusive interview. Additionally, Judy, a current leader of the army, was also contacted. Both interviews were successful.
TD999 INTERVIEW
How deep does this resignation go? Are you completely withdrawing from the community?
TD999: yes
Will you ever return in the future, or is this a full retirement from Club Penguin armies?
TD999: maybe
Do you have any final words you’d like to say to the CPA community?
TD999: no
JUDY INTERVIEW
Did the resignation come as a surprise? How close were you and TD999?
Judy: It did not come as a surprise no, in fact I joined Romans with this information in mind and as his replacement 😭. To answer the second part, me and Monstah have been friends for a good year now as my 2nd army in CPA was under his leadership, although Romans brought us closer and I got to know him a lot better (goated friend and goated leader btw)
Does the resignation stall any plans the Romans had going?
Judy: I would say no but rather the other way around. His retirement was initially going to be much sooner, however we delayed it due to the tournament. That being said, we always had a plan for when he stepped down and still have him as a current advisor. Monstah thought his retirement out well with any struggles considered and we discussed for a good while exactly what we intend on doing after he departs from the leadership
What are the plans to replace TD999? Where can we expect the Romans to go from here?
Judy: Earlier this week, we found a good candidate to take over from Monstah to which we all agree this individual’s dedication in Romans is undeniable. That aside, we have a number of new HCOM who are very experienced, with some being a part of Romans in the past. With that in mind, we expect Romans to perform better and better and for this transition to go smoothly. Monstah’s plan made these changes much easier and left us with no doubt we will only keep aiming higher
For the Romans, TD999 may be a hard leader to replace. With a unique influence on the army, his legacy will undoubtedly be remembered throughout Roman history. However, the Romans are a highly resilient force, and they already have the plans in place to recover. Unfortunately, his resignation marks the end of a significant era, but the army’s strength has always been its ability to adapt to the times and thrive. Transitioning to new leadership will always lead to some uncertainty, but if there is any army that can make it look easy, it is the Romans of Club Penguin. What advice do you have for the Romans as they enter their new chapter? Do you have any farewell messages for TD999? Who do you think will replace him? When will TD999’s replacement take place?
