The Templars of Club Penguin have formally declared war on the Fire Vikings. The declaration pointed out the Fire Vikings’ unauthorised re-establishment of their army name, along with their ongoing partnership with the Doritos of Club Penguin, as defining issues. Let us examine the situation and the controversy surrounding it.

The Templars Accuse the Fire Vikings
On June 17, the Templars of Club Penguin declared war against the Fire Vikings because of their controversial revival and their current diplomatic stance. According to the Templars’ war post, Fire Vikings are an illegitimate army that did not seek the approval of their original creator before their re-opening. TCP also condemned the Fire Vikings for their ongoing alliance with the Doritos of Club Penguin. After this declaration of war, the Fire Vikings retaliated in an attempt to refute the Templars’ claims and accused the TCP of relying on troop stealing. They also disagreed with TCP’s assertions about FV’s legitimacy on Club Penguin Armies Battleground, stating that the army remains legitimately present under the league. Tensions flared up as both armies continued to release posts towards each other, calling each other frauds, clowns, and cowards.

Knights against the burning Ring of Fire
Since the war’s declaration, four battles have already taken place. However, three of them resulted in automatic victories for the TCP due to Fire Viking’s no-shows. The only instance where the Fire Vikings attended saw the two armies clash against each other, culminating in a Templars victory after three fiercely fought rooms. Nevertheless, with the current war score heavily in Templars’ favor, questions have arisen over whether FV can mount a serious resistance or if their current generation will succumb to mounting pressure.

Club Penguin Armies approached TCP leader Moon and FV leader Yellow Typer to gain insight into their perspectives and motivations behind the ongoing war.
How do you respond to claims that this war is rooted in personal grievances rather than strategic goals?
Moon: I wouldn’t say it’s only in personal grievances — there is a strategic element to this war. Sure we warred because they still support DCP, but strategically, it helps get our troops excited, ready for war.
Yellow Typer: All of these claims are either false or dumb. TCP complains about us calling them a puppet 1 time then continues to call us puppets. Claims that FV is illegal are also false. If we were to be illegal, then we would not even be seeing FV as of right now but here we are. CPA would have made us rebrand into a new army or not be an army at all but as Zuj0t stated in our latest post, CPA has yet to say we have to rebrand/shutdown for being illegal. So, at the end of the day, people in the community can say whatever they want but it’s up to the CPA administration to determine whether we rebrand/shutdown or not.
In your view, what is this war really about?
Moon: It was based off of surface level things like alliances, but in my opinion, this war is truly about just giving our troops something to be hype about and giving an opportunity for Templars to grow.
Yellow Typer: This war Is just child’s play. We will not waste our time and attend any future battles in this war as there is really no point in doing such a thing.
Given the recent battle outcomes, how do you plan to rally your troops moving forward?
Moon: Given the recent outcomes, I plan to stick to the routine I am doing currently: DMing a few hours before the events, chatting with new troops about the war, and hyping the events up.
Yellow Typer: Recruit, train, grow bigger and better. I have no idea what TCP is trying to gain in this war but they won’t get much. My reasons of saying that is because they are a major army and we are still s/m that isn’t even famous.
Do you anticipate any long-term consequences for the community following this war?
Moon: I don’t think there will be any major impacts, maybe those who are currently observing might take a chance and declare on an army, but otherwise nothing much.
Yellow Typer: No
What message do you want to send to your allies and rivals during this time?
Moon: To the allies, I’d like to thank for the continued support that you have given to us. To the enemies, I thank you for putting up a fight — not a hard one, but you’re still showing up, and that’s what truly matters. I do hope you eventually gain some sense and realize we aren’t scumbags and can schedule events you can max well at. 😉
Yellow Typer: For our allies, enemies, and neutral armies, I will say this one time and one time only. You can mock our size. You can mock our name, our words, whatever you want, but at the end of the day, we do not waver.
As a new fire ignites a war between the Templars and the Fire Vikings, the whole sphere is divided. Wars of accusations, illegitimacy, untrustworthy alliances, and vile words have transitioned into a war that does not seem to be slowing down. The Templars aren’t willing to back down from what they believe is right, and the Fire Vikings are adamant about not backing down from what they see as a crusade with no basis. With so much pressure on everyone and more battles ahead, what does this war mean for the troops and the community? Is it a quick skirmish, or the beginning of something worse?
