This past week, the Elite Guardians returned to the community following nearly a month of hiatus. Let us look back at the army’s history and the circumstances leading to their return.

History of the guardians
The Elite Guardians of Club Penguin have long stood as a cornerstone of the community, originally founded in October 2017 by small/medium Army Legend Cookky2 and current Chief Executive Producer and Army Legend Edu14463. From 2017 through 2020, the Guardians established themselves as a dominant force, earning a reputation for strength and consistency within the community. After a successful revival in 2023, the army engaged in several clashes, most notably with the Army of Club Penguin. However, the army, following unforeseen circumstances, suddenly shut down.
In January 2025, the Guardians reopened with a new generation of leaders at the helm. Lass, Lady Eden, and Inesgnami took charge, quickly establishing the army as a dominant force within the S/M community. Following the retirement of Lady Eden, Lass and Inesgnami continued to lead the army with strength, actively participating in numerous tournaments and solidifying the legacy of this new generation of the Guardians.

New Beginnings
On April 27, Inesgnami announced that the army would be entering a period of hiatus, following a stretch of inactivity and absence of events. While this marked the beginning of a dormant phase for the army, it did not signify the end of the Elite Guardians of Club Penguin.

On June 14, the Elite Guardians held their official reopening event, officially marking the beginning of a new era for the army. Following this, former leaders Lass and Inesgnami stepped down, passing the torch to newly appointed leaders Lana and Kazoo symbolizing a fresh start for the army. As this new chapter unfolds, the community will certainly be watching closely, eager to witness what this new era of EGCP will bring.

Club Penguin Armies reached out to EGCP leader Lana to learn more about what this new era means for the army.
What are you planning for this new era of EGCP?
Success and unity. We’re friends, obviously, but I want to strengthen our friendship and our goals. A united army is a successful one. We talk about our goals, and one goal is to see EGCP join a new golden era.
How do you plan to rebuild after a period of inactivity?
We are creating a way to welcome our new members to make they feel welcomed in the community. We’re also making our server more fun too.
What can we expect under yours and Kazoo’s new leadership?
Unity. We believe that everyone in the army deserves to feel valued, so we are making EGCP a place where people can truly feel welcome.
What lessons will you apply from previous EGCP leaderships to ensure this generation is successful?
We need to learn from the mistakes of the past: analyze our previous decisions and reflect on whether we could have done things differently.
This new era of EGCP is already proving to be a prominent force within the community, especially with the recent leadership inductions. Only time will tell if this new generation will usher in a golden age for the army. We will certainly be watching to see the heights this new era can achieve. What do you think of this revival?
