As May winds down, the Around the World Cup II tournament is running with its NA stage, featuring multiple brawls amongst armies of all sizes. This uniquely designed round-robin tournament invites armies to brawl across multiple time zones, adding an interesting and new take on traditional forms of tournament. On May 29, two exciting battles kicked off the US/NA stage with the Doritos of Club Penguin squaring off against the Void Troops, which was followed by the Army of Club Penguin against the Templars. The action resumed on May 30, with the Aliens against the Water Vikings and the Scarlet Republic against the Fire Vikings.
Doritos of Club Penguin versus Void Troops
The battle began with the Doritos fielding first in a UV and with the DCT troops coming in close behind in a well-organized BL. DCP had a slight size advantage throughout the battle, maxing out at 28 to the VT’s 18. Early in the battle, there were some loose formations on both sides, and DCP had spots of disorganization,n and VT was losing shape. While both armies had flaws in the first two rooms and did not establish any clear domination, both rooms were judged as ties, as both armies performed equally with only minor tactical variation.
DCP started to take the lead in the third room. Their formations had become clearer, and they were able to cover VT more effectively, although there were still some tactical speed lapses. VT tried to emulate some of DCP’s responses, but could not match the pace. DCP’s continual and stronger presence in this room earned them a victory, which ultimately gave DCP the overall victory in the battle.

Army of Club Penguin versus Templars of Club Penguin
The Army of Club Penguin entered Room 1 with 26 troops, forming a clear arrow. Templars entered after with 17 troops in a wobbly V-form. Even though we had some AFK troops, ACP held stronger forms and room coverage to win Room 1.
In Room 2, ACP continued to increase their winning margin to 28-14. ACP’s formations continued to be solid and while TCP’s forms kept on lacking structure and consistency. ACP was still able to control the pace of the battle and easily won again.
Room 3 saw both armies enter together. ACP held strong with a UV and surround bomb formation, but TCP’s forms continued to lack strength and seem repetitive. ACP was much stronger in size, tactics, and execution, leading to a win in all three rooms and overall.

Aliens versus Water Vikings
The battle started with Aliens coming in first and executing an effective X while Water Vikings then followed with a bit of a haphazard L. Aliens had some tactical positioning, even though its follow up plus formation wasn’t quite as organized. The WV troops did whirlpool, but the Aliens maintained the eight man coverage. With sizes of 44-27 size they flipped forms and the room ended in a tie.
In Room 2, Aliens impressions also made entry first and made a very strong plus after while WV’s X suffered under the pressure. Aliens had good coverage all the time as WV was struggling with their anchor form with AFK troops. There were still some oh no’s, but Aliens maintained control the whole time and won the room.
Room 3 consisted of a few WV impressions going in first and quickly bombing into a V, but Aliens countered with clean forms and better coverage. WV were particularly disorganized in their formations, since several troops went AFK while moving. Aliens maintained pressure with good waterfalls and some quality form traces. Ultimately, Aliens had a significant size advantage and did better work and won the last room and the battle overall.

Fire Vikings versus Scarlet Republic
The Scarlet Republic took off at a solid UT formation while the Fire Vikings were hardly there with no formations or tactics. The SR rotated through a UV and a line formation while the FV continued to be fairly stagnant and exhibited no effort to contest, giving the SR the win for Room 1.
In Room 2, the initial ‘X’ formation was rough from SR, but they quickly cleaned it up. The FV continued to show passive energy with no discernible effort to contest. The SR rotated through formations with consistent movement while FV was trapped. This meant the SR was again victorious in Room 2.
Room 3 offered the faintest glimmer of inspiration from the Fire Vikings with a rake, but continued to see the SR in full control of the game. The SR put this game on Lock with a solid diagonal and a clean T formation in such a dominant victory. The Fire Vikings showed little spark across all rooms, and this was a well-deserved victory for the Scarlet Republic.
