Rise of the Guardians

The Elite Guardians of Club Penguin were originally founded in October 2017 by S/M Army Legend Cookky2 and current Chief Executive Producer and Army Legend Edu14463. The Guardians quickly rose to prominence, securing victories in major tournaments and engaging in significant wars. In 2020, however, the army shut down due to internal issues. In 2023, the army reopened, reigniting its prominence within the community and returning as a major power. The 2023 revival saw several clashes and conflicts, most notably Operation Caesar, a major conflict against the Army of Club Penguin that led to a 100+ battle war. Despite the resurgence, the army soon faced more difficulties. In October 2024, co-creator Cookky2 shut the army down following a series of unforeseen circumstances.

EGCP remained quiet for a few months until January 2025, when former leader and S/M Legend SavageCobra announced the return of the Guardians. This time, a new generation of leaders stepped up, showing great promise from the start. Since then, Lass and, more recently, Insegnami have led the army following the retirement of Lady Eden. Since their revival, the Guardians have taken part in many events, including placing second in the February Candy Crusher Brawl and recently going to overtime with the Templars in the March Madness X tournament, and even establishing a brother alliance with the Scarlet Republic, emphasizing future dominance.

Sudden Hiatus

On April 27, leader Insegnami announced that the army would be going on an indefinite hiatus, emphasizing that this would not mean the closure of the army. This announcement followed a brief period of inactivity for the Guardians, along with the unexpected loss of a leader that surprised many in the community. While the future remains uncertain, the community will certainly be watching closely, hopeful to see more from this generation of EGCP when they return.

Insegnami announcing the hiatus of EGCP

Club Penguin Armies reached out to EGCP leader Insegnami to learn more about the army’s sudden hiatus.

What was the main reason for the hiatus?

The main reason for the hiatus was because we needed some time to recover ourselves.

Do you think this time will be a period of growth for the army?

I believe that the army will grow only when we decide to return to our activities.

What can we expect from the guardians in the future?

Probably, a lack of news about us and a certain disappearance from the community for some time.

It seems that the hiatus seems to be for the overall growth of the Guardians in the hopes that in the coming weeks they will be able to build themselves up. As we approach future tournaments, only time will tell if this period of inactivity will do the army well. Do you think this hiatus is for the best? Will the Guardians make a dominant comeback?
