Early History

Edu14463‘s journey began in 2015 when he was recruited to the Water Ninjas by Jayden1092. He was soon inducted as leader, before retiring in 2016. Not long after, Edu was approached by Cookky2 with an idea to create a Portuguese colony of the Nachos. This idea eventually grew to become the Elite Guardians. Unfortunately, soon after they started work, the project came to a halt mid-2017 due to the shutdown of Club Penguin. Club Penguin Private Servers (CPPS) fortunately allowed them to resume in October of that year.

This time, EGCP grew to become its own army which Edu proceeded to lead for two years and three months. Under Edu’s leadership, the Guardians won Christmas Chaos VII, while coming runner-up in Christmas Chaos VIII. As part of the Red Dawn Alliance, Edu led the Elite Guardians in World War VII against the Rebel Penguin Federation. He was successful, with the Red Dawn Alliance claiming victory following the Rebels shutting down. In the same year, Edu was inducted as a Major Army Legend.

In 2018, Edu also led the Guardians in several wars against the Templars. The first of these came on April 9, 2018, with the Elite Guardians successfully invading all of TCP’s land, including their capital. The next war came later that year, with Edu leading the Guardians to victory after six battles. Edu continued to win two more wars against the Templars in 2019, solidifying EGCP’s status in the community. In January 2020, the Guardians shut down after a successful run in the community.

Modern History

In 2023, Edu and the army returned to the community. He had no plans of leading and remained as an advisor. With Edu’s advice, the Elite Guardians grew quickly in 2023, gaining Major status in two months. This growth made the Guardians a major power during World War IX.

Edu returned to leadership on April 18, 2024, following EGCP going on a brief hiatus. Under Edu’s leadership, the Guardians regained their Major status in less than a month. He led the new generation to win their first trophy in the Around The World Cup tournament, maxing 50 in the finals. Following this, he continued to lead the Guardians to success in wars against the Templars and Water Vikings. Edu retired from his position in July 2024 before joining WV as a second-in-command. He retired in August bringing his army career to an end.

Edu also contributed to the community through his various roles in Club Penguin Armies. Edu worked hard as a reporter and editor for the reporting team. In December 2024, his accomplishments were acknowledged, being promoted to Executive Producer. Edu also works hard producing thumbnails as part of the graphic design team.

Club Penguin Armies reached out to Edu for an exclusive interview on his most memorable moments.

What is your proudest achievement in your career to date?

2018 marked the rebirth of armies in general. A community that was on the verge of death showed signals of activity and life once more. I am proud to have spearheaded such a movement through my career in the Elite Guardians. We were the first armies to colonize the infamous Club Penguin Online, and one of the first armies to compose its Army League. Through our imperialistic policies we nurtured warfare and activity in the community, what made new armies come alive, such as TCP and the Help Force (Ayan was under my mentorship, through which he learned how to ‘play’ CP Armies). It was also on that year that EGCP effectively became a major army, maxing more than 50+ in daily events, what marked the army’s golden age. It was under my leadership that the Guardians successfully dealt RPF’s first defeat in a war in their CPPS era, an army that used to max around 80. Thanks to our efforts, the Guardians became a powerhouse, both in the geopolitical and the warfare scenarios.

It is also noteworthy to mention that the Elite Guardians introduced the army culture to the Portuguese/Brazilian Club Penguin community; a collective of individuals that never once heard of armies besides a few minority. Right now, when someone speak about armies in said community, everyone almost immediately say: “Oh, EGCP? The ‘EPF Agents’? Yeah I’ve heard of them”. When they think of armies, they think of EGCP. My people, my community, and my army. This is the legacy we built in 2018, which extends its influence to this very day

What qualities do you feel are most beneficial for a leader to have?

I’ll say three: charisma, determination, and authority. First, charisma is essential because a charismatic leader can motivate their team, instill confidence, and create a sense of unity. When a leader communicates effectively and engages others emotionally, people follow them not out of obligation, but because they genuinely believe in their vision. Second, determination is crucial for overcoming challenges. A passionate leader remains focused and persistent, even when facing obstacles. This quality also sets an example for the team, showing them that resilience leads to success. Lastly, authority is necessary for making decisions and guiding a team effectively. A leader must be confident, knowledgeable, and capable of enforcing rules fairly. True authority isn’t about merely holding a title and being arrogant with your HCOM/Staff, for example. It’s about earning respect through competence and decisiveness. Without it, leadership loses its impact

If you could change anything in your career, would you?

I believe I would have held my tongue more, haha. Most of my controversial moments revolved around wrong things that I have said and done. But that’s on the past now. Army-wise, I wouldn’t have shut down EGCP back in 2020. I would’ve told the 16 years old Edu to keep going on regardless of the lack of motivation. I would’ve told him to appoint a new leader, to let a new generation take the helm. Perhaps if EGCP did not shut down in 2020 we could’ve seen a big rise due to the pandemic boom, which happened just two months after the army’s closure

What was the biggest obstacle you faced during your leadership?

Aside from being doxxed and threatened by multiple corrupt individuals, I believe warring against RPF in 2018 was a big obstacle, for sure. Our rivalry was exciting, and the amount of effort we put into defeating them was enormous, and luckily we were able to bring the victory home. I’ll say it, though. The biggest obstacle of my leadership was dealing with internal conflicts. These are, undoubtedly, the worst nightmares of any army leader. You need to be smart and patient to successfully handle these dramas. If you fail, the army may be at risk of collapsing.

What advice would you give to someone interested in leading an army?

Recruit non-stop. Don’t give up. Give your heart, mind, and soul to your dream of rising an army from the scratch. It’s not an easy path, but it’s possible because many people have done it before. However, don’t ever think you can do this alone. It’s not a shame to admit that you need help. Find a trustworthy friend, just like I had Cookky2, my brother. Without him, I wouldn’t have been a successful leader. Be strong. Love what you do and who you work with

It is apparent that Edu is an inspiration to all and has set leadership standards high. His many achievements and accomplishments have shown his dedication and commitment to his work. But what do you think? What was his most memorable moment? What will he accomplish as Executive Producer?
