Aaronstone42, a significant member of the Club Penguin Army community, has left a lasting legacy through his leadership and dedication. With a career spanning over a decade, his contributions have considerably impacted different community elements during the original Club Penguin era and following the CPPS era.
Army Journey
ARMY ORIGINS
Aaronstone’s journey into Club Penguin armies began in late 2009, when he joined the Ice Warriors after discovering the army community via a CP hacks xat conversation. Aaronstone rose through the ranks and eventually became a Warrant Officer. His time with the Ice Warriors was brief because other soldiers harassed him, prompting him to leave the army. Following this, Wwebestfan recruited Aaronstone to the Doritos of Club Penguin, where he immediately established himself as one of the first troops to join.
Rising to Second In Command, he briefly led in 2010 while Brandon, the primary commander, was away. His youth caused him to be demoted after just two days in the leadership post. Notwithstanding this setback, Aaronstone stayed true to DCP and worked hard for the army throughout 2011 and 2012 before being re-inducted as leader at the end of 2012. But Aaronstone’s second leadership term coincided with DCP’s collapse, and as the army fell apart, Mustapha10 and Wwebestfan banished him.
After quitting DCP, Aaronstone joined the Underground Mafias Army, where he served as Second In Command to Coolster114 and Benjarkin. During his time at UMA, Aaronstone, along with Coff Paco and Sarge, orchestrated a critical coup that led to a change in command. Although the coup was successful, the ensuing leadership did not live up to expectations. Eventually, UMA’s old leader, Eyes521, returned and appointed Aaronstone as army commander. Under his guidance, UMA experienced a resurgence, returning to the Club Penguin Army Central Top Ten and finishing ninth. Aaronstone led UMA for five months, restoring order to the army before stepping down.
Golden Era
Aaronstone left UMA and joined the Water Vikings as Third In Command. His commitment and leadership skills propelled him through the ranks to become one of WV’s leaders. His leadership tenure coincided with the Blue Summer of 2013, a fruitful era for the Water Vikings. During this generation, WV experienced significant growth in size and rankings, marking a watershed moment in its history. Aaronstone, along with other leaders like Bepboy9, Dashing Snow, and Kingfunks4, played an important role in this achievement. Aaronstone earned recognition as a WV Legend for his service with the team.
Initial Success
In 2015, the Water Vikings restructured their Hall of Fame and renamed this designation “Greatest Leader. Following his experience in WV, Aaronstone moved on to S/M armies, most notably working with Revan and Buddy in the Club Penguin Air Force. He temporarily took on command responsibilities in lesser armies before retiring in 2016. In 2020, Aaronstone42 returned to the army community, reconciling with old allies and discovering that the Water Vikings were still active. Initially rejoining the community to watch, he immediately became involved with UMA and took on the job of army advisor. Aaronstone aided UMAs Dino, Zamb, and SavageCobra during their tenures, assisting the army until its final collapse in December 2020.
After UMA closed, he briefly joined DCP before returning to the Water Vikings to help with their revival. Initially, he planned to take on a subsidiary role, but when others could not step into leadership, he assumed the position himself. This new era for the Water Vikings included the return of Revan, Fedd76, and IW Legend Shinde. The team maintained consistent ranks and participated actively in major conflicts, including clashes with the Templars. Aaronstone’s leadership culminated in Water Viking’s victory in the Golden Seas War II when he led the army in defeating the Templars.
Accomplishments
Aaronstone42 efforts for the Club Penguin army community are widely recognized, with notable achievements in leadership, strategy, and expansion. His first significant accomplishment came as the leader of the Underground Mafias Army, which he led from the bottom of the Small-Medium Army Central rankings to ninth place on the Club Penguin Army Central Top Ten. Later, his leadership with the Water Vikings (WV) became a defining moment in his career. During the “Blue Summer,” Aaronstone was instrumental in assisting WV in acquiring importance during the second golden age of Club Penguin armies. He was named one of the “Great Leaders” in the Water Vikings’ Hall of Fame for his services.
LEGACY AND HONOURS
Aaronstone42 accomplishments extended to the Pretzels and Blue Miners Army in 2015 when both armies grew to over 50 and finished in the top five in the CP Army Central rankings under his command. In the CPPS era, he moved from being an advisor to managing the Water Vikings’ resurrection in July 2021. Under his leadership, WV grew to 25 or more people, competed for fifth place in the Top Ten, and declared victory in a fight against the Templars. His guidance resulted in WV’s supremacy in Champions Cup VI, their first major tournament victory.
Under his leadership, WV reached second place in the summer of 2022 and won crucial battles, notably the Second Eagre Foray War against Special Weapons & Tactics. Despite a tight loss against the Templars in the finals of Legends Cup XII, WV achieved sizes greater than 50. Aaronstone42 impact was seen even after he retired on October 15, 2022, as he stayed involved in WV governance, assisting in the state’s war efforts. However, less than a month after his retirement, the Water Vikings folded on November 13, 2022, demonstrating how important Aaronstone was to the army’s success and longevity. On January 13, 2023, Aaronstone was elected as an Army Legend, a title in which only a handful have achieved.
Club Penguin Armies reached out to Aaronstone to engage in his most memorable moments.
How did your experiences as a young leader shape your personal development outside of armies?
It made me ambitious and more willing to try new things outside of my comfort zone.
Can you share a moment from your career that you believe defined you as a person?
Probably my entire second run as WV Leader (2021-22) I was a very bullish leader with a personality that stood out and I think that it really defines who I am as a person and that I always spoke up when I thought something wrong and something had to be done about it (Second Eagre Foray).
What qualities do you believe are most important for effective leadership in any community?
Leading from the front, always be the hypothetical first guy in and last guy out. Always be there for your troops and have their backs no matter what and always make sure their voice is heard even if you have to fight for it to happen. Always keep your head on a swivel because things can and will change at the drop of a dime.
Looking back, is there any decision or moment you wish you had handled differently?
Probably some internal issues in WV while I was leading.
What advice would you give to someone new to leadership who wants to make a meaningful impact?
Just be who you are and work hard and really devote yourself to your leadership, being a leader means sometimes you have to make sacrifices in your own life and you cant be afraid to do that. Keep going even if you fail occasionally always pick yourself back up, dust yourself off and move forward.
Aaronstone stands as a lone flame against the frigid winds of time, his trek through the challenges of Club Penguin Armies demonstrating unyielding determination. Such figures, born of fire and cooled by ice, will never be forgotten. Their legacy echoes in the silence, a gentle reminder that brilliance can last forever, even in solitary. What do you think of his monumental achievements?
