Often, within the army community, gossip and drama can be missed by the media if it is not “news”. In this post, we will jump into the community and ask members “What’s the buzz?”.
Since the last edition of What’s the Buzz, quite a lot has happened within the community. Even though the first and second editions are nearly two months apart, the community has changed dramatically. People’s Imperial Confederation went on hiatus and has returned, 21 armies were present on the Top Ten of October and the Elite Guardians have shut down. These aren’t the only changes within the community but these alone show the dramatic changes within it.
With the community growing even more active, it is time for us to ask the community “What’s the buzz?”.
FWAPO, SWAT: They do not know what is coming for them. Perhaps, do they really think they are what CPA is? Do they really think that small means weak and large means strong? Let me tell you big bully that One day, and some time in the future you will go down, either it’s you being done for, or your army going for it’s grave that someone has dug for you. I personally saw it with a smile to my face, I smelled the dirt with my beautiful nose. No one noticed and never will, if you decide to search for this, you will be found and not let go. #Long Live the 47th President of the USA, Donal J trump.
From the above paragraph, we see that FWAPO is insinuating that a major army will soon be targeted and brought down. Seemingly, FWAPO is saying there is a bigger army looking down on Special Weapons And Tactics. Additionally, his statement could suggest that there are plans, behind the scenes, to grow the army/gain support to take down their enemy. However, their enemy is unclear. Over the years, SWAT has had many enemies from the Army of Club Penguin to Water Vikings. Yet, a lot has changed in the past few years.
Currently, the army has four enemies listed on its website. These include ACP, People’s Imperial Confederation, Phantom Republic and Templars. Only one of these armies is major, but both PIC and TCP have been major at one point or another this year. With the Phantom Republic recently shutting down, the three aforementioned armies are left in the frame. Could we possibly see the start of a new war? Or is FWAPO’s statement referring to something completely different?
Anonymous: I heard Secret Service got nuked and merged into DCP by the leaders without the creator’s permission and now it looks like nothing is going on, what’s up with that?
If you have been living under a rock recently, you would have noticed a big change within the community. Secret Service got defaced and its Leaders jumped ship to revive the former Major army, Doritos of Club Penguin. The above comments are a bit peculiar, to say the least. The person could be extremely out of the loop with this one and may be spitting facts the community already knows. But is that all?
While the Secret Service has been dormant, it has not been completely abandoned. The server has been somewhat rebuilt and the army is set to celebrate its birthday over the weekend. The event will also serve as a farewell event for the army, seeing it shut its doors. Could that be what the person is referring to? – That the army is not dead yet but most people are acting like it is. Or maybe there is another reason? Perhaps this person is just extremely out of the loop but only time will tell.
Sanya, Army of Club Penguin: Well the gossip for today is in ACP is that we’re hosting a UK Fundraiser event this Friday at 3 pm EST , and everyone is invited For every +1 penguin we max, we’ll donate that amount to charity like if we max 30 we’ll donate 30 dollars. If we hit 50, we’ll double the donation; if we reach 70, we’ll triple it, thanks to our generous donor, Mads
Here’s a bit of tea that I can share: this event has been in the works for some time, and since on December we’ll be quite busy with Christmas Chaos, we’re hosting it now in November while we still have time and to me This event will be quite unique, as not many armies hold fundraiser events where we donate money to charity .
Within the past 12 months, fundraisers have commonly been hosted within the community. At the end of last year and the beginning of this year, multiple armies hosted fundraiser events including the Help Force and Elite Guardians. ACP also held a fundraiser event earlier in the year but is set to run it back to raise even more money for charity. During their last charity event, the Clovers raised $73.50 for ‘Every Child Educated’. It is currently unknown what charity they are raising money for. However, people are surely going to benefit from the charitable donations.
Anonymous 2: Two major armies are going to war soon.
Well, ain’t that some interesting information. It is unknown whether or not this source is reliable, but if they are we will see a big conflict occur very soon. Currently, there are five major armies within the community, including SS which is on the verge of shutting down. The other armies are ACP, Help Force, Rebel Penguin Federation and Aliens. However, only three of these currently have land on the map. With that said, could we see the Federation take on Help Force? Out of the three armies that currently hold land on the map, these two armies have no affiliation with each other. The only thing these two armies share is the same ally (ACP). The Rebels may also hold some bad blood from the Legends Cup when they lost to the Force, twice. Could we see these armies hash it out once and for all?
Although, the warring armies may not currently be on the map. Aliens could aim to seek victory in war, testing themselves against one of these major forces. Or perhaps one of the armies being talked about is a “major player” within the community but not actually a Major army. An example of this would be Templars, who are looking to build their army up, once again. Historically, the Templars feed off of wars and battles. With that in mind, we could see them enter a war to seek a return to form and Major status. These armies would not be the only ones who could go to war, but only time will tell who will.
Anonymous 3: Not really a gossip but a question to armies? What’s the difference between armies recruiting and dm advertising as part of their rules even though it’s not allowed?
Anonymous 3 poses an interesting question here. Advertising in people’s direct message inboxes is against the rules but is crucial for armies to recruit and grow. It is a requirement for people to recruit in most, if not all, armies. Ultimately, when people DM advertise, they usually send a description and a link without anything else. However, armies take a more hands-on approach, getting people interested in the server and helping them to create an in-game account. Additionally, some armies go a step further by explaining how the game and community works and helping them in-game to learn what to do.
However, what number three could also be referring to is when army members dm other members about their army. This is generally considered a troop-stealing attempt and is frowned upon in CPA. But is there a difference between troop-stealing (rule-breaking) and sharing their army with someone they know or talk to? Arguably, trying to get another army member to join your army server is considered a troop-stealing attempt. It shows intent to get the member to join their ranks or their events.
Regardless of what 3 is talking about, they bring a valid question to armies. Despite this, it falls flat because without people recruiting, armies would die. Also, regarding the second paragraph, is it not the person’s own choice whether or not they join another army server or enlist?
I would like to thank the five people who have submitted their comments for this edition of What’s The Buzz. While talking about some of the drama within the community may be a risky prospect for some, the option to remain anonymous helps people to submit their comments without fear. Seemingly, a lot is going on within the community with a war set to take place very soon. Now all is doom and gloom though. Soon enough, a fundraiser will be held and Secret Service will host their birthday event.
Do you think that any of the wars stated in this post could happen? Do you know what’s the buzz? Let me know if you have something you want to be shared, whether it be anonymously or not.
