As we approach the start of October, the Club Penguin Armies Administration is proud to present a new tournament set to take place in October.
In 2021, the Club Penguin Army Headquarters team introduced a new idea to the community. The idea they presented was Project Conquest, a map-based tournament. This tournament took place for over a month with a draft of servers and different phases/stages taking place. The creativity of this tournament left fond memories of it in the minds of many community members. Yet this tournament has not been seen since.
Since the beginning of this new Administration, we have made it our priority to put the community first and to bring new ideas to the table. We have been listening to what armies have desired over the years and now we are proudly able to present you a new tournament inspired by the original Project Conquest called Project Conquest: Blood Bowl.
How It Will Work
In comparison to the original PC, Blood Bowl comes with a twist. Unlike the 2021 iteration, there will be no draft/planning/consolidation phases. Instead, the tournament will take place similarly to how armies invade and go to war on the map. Armies will be assigned one piece of land each, hopefully leaving at least 1 freeland piece between each army. Armies can schedule one invasion at a time on pieces of land connected to theirs. However, there will be no capital servers, no treaties, no land transfers/trades. Additionally, no war declarations are needed. This means that anyone can invade anyone and armies will remain in the tournament until they have no land left.
An example of what the map could look like.
The above example of the map is just that, an example. None of the positions are confirmed, however, to ensure that armies have a fair shot, we will try to make sure SM armies are nearer to other SM armies than Major.
Armies that are participating cannot be invaded on the main map throughout the entirety of this tournament. Additionally, all armies which gain land on the tournament map are encouraged to create Halloween-themed names for their land. However, land pieces can only be renamed once successfully invaded. They cannot be renamed if an invasion is scheduled to take place on it.
Carrying on with the Halloween theme, armies are encouraged to wear Halloween-themed outfits. However, these outfits must be approved by the Club Penguin Armies administration before being used. This rule is in place to ensure no overly big costumes are worn.
Additional Rules and Information
- Armies can only schedule invasions on pieces of land connected to their own. Invasions of land not connected to an army’s nation will be invalid.
- An army cannot surrender their land to another army – all land must be obtained via invasions
- Armies will only be allowed to schedule one invasion at a time. Once that invasion is over, they can immediately schedule another.
- Armies cannot be invaded by two separate armies at the same time. If an army is being invaded by another army, they cannot be scheduled upon until said invasion is finished
- If two armies schedule on an army at the same time, only the army which posted their invasion first will be able to invade.
- Armies cannot schedule before the start time of the tournament (00:00 EST on Saturday, October 5)
- Armies cannot schedule battles which will take place after the end time (11:59 pm EST Saturday, October 26)
- Armies must schedule their battles 24 hours in advance
- Any outstanding treaties do not apply in this tournament – anyone can attack anyone. Additionally, no treaties can be made specifically for this tournament to try and stop armies from attacking each other.
- The invading army must have at least 10 members present for UK and US invasions OR 5 members present at AUSIA invasions at any point of the invasion in order for it to be valid, including free land invasions.
- The minimum number of troops for a valid defense is 5 (AUSIA) and 10 (UK/US). If an army fails to reach this at the end of room one then the battle concludes.
- If the defending army does not show up, the invading army will be declared victors after they have remained online for 10 minutes
- The freeland cap does not apply to this tournament
- The land cap (50%+1) does not apply to this tournament
- An army cannot be invaded multiple times within the same time zone, this would be UK, US, and AUSIA. AUSIA is 3am-9:30am EST, EU is 9:30am-5pm EST, and US is 5pm-3am EST.
- Opposing army leaders must be informed of the invasion with a ping in the invasion scheduling channel alongside the posting of the invasion.
- Armies must use CPA Battleground.
- An army does not need to prepare war terms to invade another army, tournament rules will apply.
- Reviews can only be submitted if the land in question is an army final piece of land.
- Leaders cannot request a review after three hours from the long results being posted and they cannot submit evidence more than 21 hours after requesting a review (videos should be submitted as soon as possible).
- Head Judges must inform both armies about the review and if it is going ahead as soon as possible.
- The deadline for the Head Judges to review the battle will be 24 hours after the evidence deadline.
- If a judge is not available, a neutral party should record the event.
- Dual-enlisted members must choose one army in which they hold an active rank to represent during the tournament. Members must stick with the one army for the duration of the tournament, even after an army is eliminated.
- The judging will be undertaken by Club Penguin Army Judges and organized by the Head Judges. CPAJ rules apply
- All armies have a right to veto one judge per battle. Once an army has vetoed one judge, it cannot decline any more for that battle. Head Judges can not be vetoed per new judging guidelines. Judges rules apply
- Anybody banned from Battleground cannot participate in tournament battles (including but not limited to attending on alts, leading from Discord or other third-party websites, etc.) If found guilty of violating this rule by administrator discretion, the army they are involved with will be disqualified.
- In order to avoid colour clashes in battles, the Head Judges have requested that armies wear differing colours for the battles that may have a clash in colour during the tournament.
- No loopholes
- The maximum amount of time an army can schedule in advance is 25 hours
Breaking the above rules may lead your army to get disqualified from the tournament, making the land they own freeland.
The tournament can end before the official end date. If an army is the last one left in the tournament or acquires all the land on the island, the tournament will be over and that army will win. Once an army is knocked out, they cannot continue to participate in the tournament. If there is a tie, leaving 2 armies with an equal amount of land at the end of the tournament, there will be a tiebreaker battle to determine the winner.
There will be 2 winners, 1 for the last standing SM army and 1 for Major. Additionally, we would like to encourage all army members who are judges to continue to judge.
