For the second time this year, the People’s Imperial Confederation made it to major status. Little by little the Confederates proceed to impact the community with their influence and growing sizes. What made this rise possible?
The People’s Imperial Confederation was founded by Small/Medium Army Legend Sidie9 and SirProditor on October 19th, 2019. Even though for most of their existence so far they were classified as S/M, their influence in the community was not little. After their revival on February 4th, 2023, the army started to make an impact by consistently waging wars and winning tournaments.
Out of the conflicts they partook in 2023, we can mention the Bloodbath Barrage, in which they were victorious against the Dark Vikings, World War IX, and the Christmas Crusade against the Elite Guardians. In August, the Confederation won their new generation’s first trophy in Beach Brawl III. In addition, this year, PIC went on to win other two tournaments in their category: New Year Bonanza and Around The World Cup. Moreover, they also took part in several conflicts against the Winged Hussars, the Penguins of Madagascar, and Special Weapons and Tactics. The Confederation was victorious in all of them.
Furthermore, in terms of overall performance and sizes, the Confederation saw a boost in their numbers through the usage of Club Penguin Journey. Thus, in some events of theirs, they were able to reach high sizes of 25+. Noticeable growth was seen in previous editions of Top Ten placements as well. Therefore, this rise made it possible for them to move up to Major Army status in March.
However, after three weeks, they could not keep up with the requirements to retain their status and fell once again to Small/Medium. Nonetheless, this did not stop the Confederation from exerting and showcasing its dominance in tournaments and battles as discussed before. Relentlessly the leaders have proceeded to recruit, train their troops, and improve their army in the meantime. This effort resulted in another move up for PIC, for the second time in 2024. This growth is undoubtedly surprising, as they managed to top major armies in the most recent Top Ten, reaching third place.
To learn more about their success and understand their perspective on it, Club Penguin Armies reached out to PIC Commander-in-Chief Shallissa.
What are your impressions on the recent Confederation rise to Major?
Proud is an understatement. I’ve been leading PIC since 2021 and while our team has always pushed to be better, we never really considered Major to be on the table. That was until PIC accumulated a team full of incredible leaders and staff who shared me and Sidie’s vision of PIC, and were willing to put in the work to see PIC reach new greatness. Reaching Major army status is honestly the icing on the cake of what has been a year full of PIC domination. Through our victorious wars, tournament wins, size increases, and now this new classification, our impact this year is undeniable. For years I’ve watched PIC be taken for granted because of our size, and now that is beginning to change. I know this is just the beginning of a long lasting PIC legacy.
Could you tell us the secret recipe that led to your ascension?
Very cliche but the key is to not give up. I’ve said this before but I am constantly seeing S/M armies revive just to shut down weeks/months later. It makes me go insane. PIC didn’t reach this success overnight. Our first ever opening event in 2019 had a max of 5, and for years PIC has averaged sizes of 10-15. But we stuck with it, even when we were maxing 5 we stayed open and focused on our goals. We put immense effort into diplomacy and we quite literally shoved ourselves into conflicts to create alliances and establish our legitimacy. It took SO MUCH WORK! But that’s what’s so fun and rewarding about the S/M community. With time and effort your army can go from getting curb stomped by Major armies and maxing 5, to winning wars, tournaments, and dominating the top half of the top ten. You just have to believe in your vision and focus on your goals and growth, and NOT join a major army just because the S/M scene is difficult.
You have moved up before but fell to S/M not long after that. What do you plan to do differently this time to keep your status?
If I’m being honest our initial rise to Major wasn’t planned and was really unexpected. We were doing a lot of CPJ events for recruiting and it just sort of happened? We were really unprepared for the ascension. The “PIC IS FAKE MAJOR!!!” backlash irritated us as well, so to one up the full time yappers we decided to make our CPAB sizes match our CPJ sizes so everyone would shut up! I still don’t think there is anything wrong with how we utilized, and continue to utilize, Club Penguin Journey. But I can accept that we were too reliant on it. We quickly got to work in changing this. We dropped down and we knew we would, but we also knew when we were Major again no one could question the legitimacy. And we absolutely crushed it. This time, our rise to Major was something we actively worked towards, we earned it completely. Things are entirely different this time around. We reached sizes of 20+ (no allies) during two Around the World Cup battles. Just last week we maxed 25 twice on CPAB. Funnily enough, we are actually maxing more on CPAB now than we are on CPJ. And we just placed third on the top ten. Our plan to keep Major is to continue doing what we’re doing because it’s clearly working.
What can we expect to see from the People’s Imperial Confederation in the near future?
We are going to do everything in our power to sustain our Major status. If we fall back down we will rise back up again. Our entire team is dedicated to PIC’s success and we are all so focused on achieving our goals. We plan to give Legends Cup our absolute all, and put a dent in every battle we compete in. If the second half of 2024 is anything like the first half, you can expect to see A LOT of PIC. The impact we will continue leaving is far from forgettable.
Without a doubt the People’s Imperial Confederation have become a dominant force within our community. We, at Club Penguin Armies, wish them the very best of luck on their projects! Do you think they will stay as a Major army? Or do you think they will drop back to S/M?
