It is fascinating to consider the similarities between armies and gaming companies. Similarly to gaming companies, Club Penguin armies also have their organization, structure, and strategies, thriving on effective coordination, strategic planning, and community engagement to achieve their goals. Join us in classifying armies as gaming companies!

CD PROJEKT RED – WINGED HUSSARS
CD Projekt Red is arguably one of the – if not the – most successful Polish gaming companies in the market. CD Projekt is behind famous titles, such as “The Witcher”, and “Cyberpunk 2077”. Comparatively, the Hussars, based on a Polish cavalry unit, are one of the most successful Small/Medium armies in the CPPS era. Revived in December 2023, they already partook in many wars and battles, recently making it to the finals of the Around The World Cup. Do you think we will see WH grow and achieve high ground just like their associated gaming company?
epic games – templars
microsoft gaming – elite guardians
Not only is the list of scandals this army holds large, but the number of members they attract is also very large. Throughout the month of May, Elite Guardians of CP have been the top-ranked army. The gaming company connected with the Guardians is Microsoft Gaming. This is because Microsoft is not only the most popular company but also the largest gaming company in terms of employees, with a total of 221,000. Their urge for domination also match Microsoft’s recent expansions by buying many smaller companies.
niantic – protectors of THE forest
Being new to the army scene is never easy, but it can be smoother with troops trained by the Help Force. Take it from me, recruiting becomes a breeze when they all come from established and stable armies. I mean, how else do you think I earned the title of small-medium army legend?
The Protectors of the Forest, with help from the Helpers to start their army, bear a resemblance to the Niantic gaming company. This comparison comes from Niantic’s smaller size and its role in the Pokémon GO game. Pokémon GO is closely tied to Nintendo, which has a long-standing association with the Pokémon franchise. Since Pokémon games are mostly released on Nintendo platforms and Niantic has collaborated on Pokémon projects, the similarities between Niantic and the POF are clear.
NINTENDO – HELP FORCE
Without a doubt, the Help Force is one of the most chill armies out there. A pacific army with a friendly and welcoming community, well-known for its war avoidance policies. It couldn’t be any different from Nintendo! The company is known for its hallmarks of family-friendly franchises, like “Super Mario”, “The Legend of Zelda”, and “Animal Crossing”. Nintendo consistently promotes its products in a way that emphasizes fun, community, and togetherness. Any parallels to HF’s Arcadium and fun events are a mere coincidence
RARE – DARK PIRATES
Arguably, Rare is not as big as the other companies, only seeing success on very specific launchings of theirs. Their most recent success was the game “Sea of Thieves”, developed in 2018. The game offers a unique, shared-world adventure where players can take on the roles of pirates, sailing the high seas, searching for treasure, and engaging in naval battles. Of course, this could not have been more fitting for our dear Dark Pirates!
RIOT GAMES – REBEL PENGUIN FEDERATION
Riot Games, founded in 2006, has established itself as a major force in the gaming industry, primarily through its most famous game, “League of Legends”. Founded only a year later, the Rebel Penguin Federation became a force to be reckoned with in CPA warfare, asserting dominance over the years. Just like Riot, the Rebels are known for their competitiveness in tournaments, as well as, for their immersive community and constant innovation. Despite facing challenges, both continue to evolve and expand their impact on their contexts
ROBLOX – SPECIAL WEAPONS AND TACTICS
The Special Weapons and Tactics team has been known for its very strict rules since Fun X Time took over leadership. Given that SWAT is primarily composed of children, including the leader himself, Fun X Time established seven crucial rules before engaging in any battles.
With its strict rules and a setting tailored for a PG-13 audience, SWAT undeniably shares a comparable atmosphere to that of the Roblox Corporation. Much like SWAT, Roblox enforces stringent rules for users logging on to the game and engaging in chat, filtering out all inappropriate content.
SONY – ARMY OF CLUB PENGUIN
The Army of Club Penguin is one of the oldest armies still active today, celebrated for its success and consistent presence in the top ten, tournaments, and wars. When considering longstanding successful gaming companies, the Clovers can immediately identify with Sony Corporation. Sony’s current slogan, “make. believe”, expresses a feeling that ACP Leader, Ugly, may aim to achieve—although perhaps not with his recent involvement in the war against the Water Vikings, given its outcome.
UBISOFT – PEOPLE’S IMPERIAL CONFEDERATION
The People’s Imperial Confederation is recognized for its loud and proud advocacy for LGBTQ rights. Despite being a small to medium-sized army, they have made an outsized impact in modern times, ensuring their voices are impossible to ignore. Much like Ubisoft, this gaming company is a staunch supporter of creating a safe environment for the LGBTQ community. They actively participate in LGBTQ events, such as pride parades and educational workshops. Additionally, the company integrates LGBTQ representation into some of its titles, as seen in “Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey,” where players can pursue romantic relationships with characters regardless of gender.
VALVE – WATER VIKINGS
It is impossible to speak of PC Gaming without thinking of Valve, and, subsequently, Steam. Without a doubt, Valve has significantly shaped both game development and distribution. Some traits of Valve as a company are also showcased by the Water Vikings, such as their commitment to innovation, and a strong focus on user-generated content and community engagement. Moreover, Valve is well-known for its acclaimed games “Team Fortress 2”, “Left 4 Dead”, and “Portal”. Just like these games made their mark on the gaming universe, the Vikings have recently left their mark in the army community, by garnering several victories under their belt.
It is indeed funny to realize armies and gaming companies can have plenty of traits in common. Whether by their dominance in the market or by their community engagement, both can impact their respective worlds. Do you agree with the matches presented in this post? How would YOU classify armies?
