Another Bite: Doritos Celebrate 14th Anniversary

The Doritos of Club Penguin were created in 2010. Since then, the army had several successful generations filled with notable achievements throughout both the original CP and CP Pirate Server eras. Although closed since 2021, today the Doritos hosted once again an event to celebrate their 14th anniversary.

Established by Wwebestfan on February 8th, 2010, the Doritos emerged as a formidable force within the community. From the original Club Penguin era through the Club Penguin Private Servers era, they engaged in numerous conflicts and tournaments, consistently asserting dominance.

DCP’s First Event – February 8, 2010

The army saw its first number one position in Club Penguin Army Central‘s Top Ten Armies, in September 2012, following a victorious war against the Nachos. However, 2015 can be considered the peak of Doritos’ dominance. Despite a setback in December 2014, they rebounded in January 2015, consolidating themselves as a powerhouse, with multiple wars fought. DCP reached the finals of the 2015 March Madness, losing only to the Ice Warriors after successfully defeating the Rebel Penguin Federation, Army of Club Penguin, and the Nachos in the previous rounds. They notably prevailed against the ‘Suicide Alliance’, compelling five armies to surrender. They were ultimately earning them the CPAC’s Top Army of the Year title.

DCP vs ACP – March Madness 2015 Round 2

The army experienced a revival in December 2016 after a disappointing shutdown the previous month. They dominated it by reaching the top spot in every weekly Top Ten and secured their first-ever tournament victory in Christmas Chaos VI after winning against RPF.

In 2019, the Doritos made an outstanding performance in the Christmas Chaos tournament on Club Penguin Online, just weeks after their revival for the CPPS era. They reached the finals against Dark Warriors and had over 100 members online. The battle showcased an intriguing intensity and competition. Thus, in a very controversial judgment, according to the CPO Army League, the battle ended up in a tie.

DCP vs DW – Christmas Chaos 2019 Finals

With the pandemic ongoing, March Madness 2020 witnessed a historic battle as the Doritos faced off against IW in the semi-finals. With over 160 troops, they emerged victorious after 5 rooms in a close battle. Although considered polemic, it can be regarded as one of the most significant battles in the CPPS history.

Though briefly inactive in August 2020, they returned in November, participating in their final tournament, Christmas Chaos X, where they maxed over 115 troops against IW in the semi-finals. In 2021, the Doritos revived for a month and even saw themselves in a war against ACP. However, the army closed shortly after and remained inactive ever since.

Today, the Doritos logged onto Club Penguin one more time. This time, to celebrate their 14th anniversary. Although closed, the army maxed out around 39 penguins online in an event filled with nostalgia for this historical army. Furthermore, in this event, Lord Pain also announced his full retirement from the army community.

DCP’s 14th-anniversary event

Club Penguin Armies reached out to CPA and Doritos Legend Mustapha10x for a brief statement on DCP’s 14th anniversary.

Over the past 14 years the Doritos have been and continue to be one of the best communities I have come across. Today people from 2010 to 2020 all got together as one united under one idea: The Doritos family. It’s remarkable how we took a half baked computer game and turned it into so much more.

Unexpectedly, there was an incident with an inappropriate tactic during the event. It ended in a mass ban in Club Penguin Armies: Battleground for more than 20 users, for which Club Penguin Armies administration confirmed that will apply a deduction in the next Top Ten.

The Doritos keep showing the community that they are unforgettable. Although closed for a few years, the anniversary event is becoming a tradition to uphold within DCP. Will we see the Doritos coming back to the community? We do not know. However, we might be here again next year to celebrate another anniversary.

Those tactics were childish and immature! DCP must stay dead forever!
